To calm this discussion down.
We are discussion the option to redeem stakes longer than we had planed and even after launch but for a fee as solix suggested.
Meaning the longer the people fail to redeem the fewer NEM they get. What they don't get goes into development, marketing and whatnot.
It will not be a year. Are you guys delusional ? I'm sorry i don't mean to be disrespectfull but that's pure insanity. A year ? What value could those people  be to NEM if they only care to check in every year ?

Seems like a good compromise - would also suggest putting the deadline (the deadline before the fee starts being applied) in the title and OP of all NEM threads. Make it as hard as possible for those who don't claim to ever say they were treated unfairly, didn't know and couldn't have known without digging through tons of NEM posts/threads.

What about 4 months....
1000000 paid until end of 1 st month after launch
after:
1 month after launch.......750000 paid out
2 months after launch.......500000 paid out
3 months after launch......250000 paid out
4 months after launch.....niente, nada ,zero, the big 0........I think this is too generous but its a compromise.

Not sure if this can be done though....may affect genesis block

directly after launch...750 k
1 month later............500 k

Like I said though - we have to take a look at the legal side of it before doing this.

why the price had this huge drop in the last few days? Sad

because i made all the women leave . .   Smiley

edit: no, not all of them, only the weak hands, don´t worry.

Still here, still don't like the comments and don't like you referring to women who would leave because of them as "weak hands". No way am I going to let this thread turn into a gender debate because there is no point and there is nothing I hate more than gender debates on the Internet, but you have to understand that comments like that just are not acceptable in any social context.

If you have to say "don't tell her that" then you shouldn't be saying it in the first place. That's all I'll say about it, and I hope nobody else even brings it up anymore because it's pointless. Let's just leave it at this.

I am thinking about investing in NEM. How many coins can I roughly expect to get for 1 NEMStake bought on the NXT AE?

Thanks!

This looks good to me.  Makes more sense too.

i agree about the legal aspect of all this. but seeing as all this is such a grey area it may be difficult to determine if doing x. y, z after launch is legal or not.. if its a choice between doing x before launch(this being legal) or y after launch(this being in a grey area) i would 100% go with x.. fincen has already started to crack down on illegal ipo's so who knows who or what they could crush after that. best keep on the right side of the law "just in case". im sure the authorities(fincen/sec/cia/nsa etc) wouldnt have that hard of a time tracking some of us down if they really wanted to.

Definitely do the legal thing.

It really annoys me though how NEM could be getting hurt or at least held back waiting for those people who just dont care enough.

Man, just loosen up a bit. Its just humour, its no gender thing or something like that.
I bet she is more forgiving than you, you got it all wrong, sorry . .
But, yeah, "Let's just leave it at this" .

Hey...  I noticed that when we get questions about NEMstake on the thread nobody mentions any restrictions in their replies...  has the 2-stake restriction been pulled?   Undecided

There is no limit to NEMstakes held by an individual, just per account. So, you have to split the NEM up amongst multiple accounts if you own more than 2.

No hard feelings at all. I don't really mind your comments, because if I did I'd basically have to stop using the Internet completely. I just had to say SOMETHING because many women will find your comments to be less than acceptable and feel out of place here, and I really don't blame them. That's why I had to at least say something, because if I didn't then how would you ever know.

Anyway, like I said, I don't want this to drag on or anything, it's not a big deal at all, just had to say something as one of the only women I know of participating on these forums.

I'd much rather talk about how NEM is awesome. Tongue

Hello everybody,

I am thinking about investing in NEM. How many coins can I roughly expect to get for 1 NEMStake bought on the NXT AE?

Thanks!

1000 000

Thanks,

How many NEMStakes are they? And are all these NEMStakes = 4 billion NEMs?

Thanks

there will be a total of 4,000,000,000 nem after launch.

only 1000 stakes, (or 1,000,000,000 nem) were issued on the asset exchange. and of those only 775 stakes were claimed or distributed to stake holders on the asset exchange. so there are 2225 stakes that have never had anything to do with the AE the majority being stake holders who just didnt claim a stake on the AE.

So what will happen to these 225 stakes = 225,000,000 of coins? That is over 5%.
Also if I got it right, only 25% was offered on the NXT AE, right? Other 75% is distributed in the other ways and held in funds.

The most important question is what makes you guys better then NXT?

Regarding the unclaimed stskes, has anyone suggested a dutch auction with proof of burn? Or equal distribution of them to all holders of nem on a specific date and time.

These are the only two fair distributions imo.

Yes, those two options have been suggested but for various reasons been rejected. An equal distribution would create tons of problems (how to handle those who've sold on the NXT AE etc.) and the stake holders already have enough NEM (NEM need to be spread).

Burning the NEM is in my option still an acceptable solution but it has also been rejected.

Jyrvalor posted an imo great proposal (although not sure how, and if it should/can be implemented).

https://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2501.msg6395#msg6395

Burn them or create a massive Facebook give away.  We need NEM's in the hands of newbs.  Look at what Doge has done with a crappy Litecoin clone.
