ROI on these? at .75 Btc at avg 20% increase and 10 cent KWh
do these ever make the btc back?
.015 BTC per day should ROI in under a 100 days. I already had the PSU's from S1's so no additional costs there. 0.75 BTC is the hairy edge IMO. I get no roi with 20% 15 cents a kwatt 478 gh 366 watts coins at 625 start in 10 days. but I get roi with 14% 15 cents a kwatt 478 gh 366 watts coins at 625 start in 10 days. since i have 4 cents a kwatt but only 800 watts available this should work for me. for the 2 on order. I will be selling off the 3 s-1s have at my low power cost location and putting these in…

Id check that math again...They will NOT roi if difficulty increases @ 20%. Well Christ I do not believe Diff will continue to rise @ 20%, as of this increase network has fallen on it's face and is running under 6 blocks per hour and has been for almost a day. That 25% increase KILLED the last of the FPGA/GPU miners. Anyone running a BFL single is going to be shutting them down SOON. My 2 60's earn approx $2.04 USD per day, but cost me $1.15 USD so they are on eBay as we chat.

Except its not .015 / day. At 15%, starting July 15 its ~ .01164 These are very unlikely to ROI @ .75 BTC each Really and you know what the diff will be how? Network has been under 6blks/ hour for 23 hours how does that equate to a 20% rise again?

dell server PSUs are really the best. If youre spending money on a corsair or EVGA or something youre wasting money.

I grabbed the minimum of 2. I am facing a good problem as I purchased 2.25 btc to buy these when coins were 560 now coins at 620. I may just sell the .75 btc and grab a bit of profit. as for psu's it is interesting since you are buying 2 not one. you want a psu that will do 850 watts. I would not use the dell server psu's they suck power. and are very loud

I don't know, seems like 20% is pretty consistent. Average increase since the start of 2014 is 18.15%, and with the glut of new hardware hitting the market, I think 20% may be here to stay.

Hello Community,
Finally, we can make a promise now. We will open the sales of S3 in the Beijing Time tonight 22:00. Beijing is in the UCT+8:00 Time Zone.
The price will be 0.75 BTC per unit in the first. The first batch of S3 will be shipped between the July 10th and 20th.
We strongly believe it is best choice of mining bitcoin for both the mining farm and the home miners.
AntMiner S3 is the third generation Bitcoin mining rig made by Bitmain. It uses the state of the art BM1382 chip powered by the 28nm tech process with ultra-low power consumption, targeting the best combination of power efficiency and low capital expenditure for mining investors.
Specifications
Hash Rate: 478 GH/s±5% Power Consumption: 366 Watt at the wall Power Efficiency: 0.77 J/GH on wall Power Supply: 12V DC Size: 331 mm x 137 mm x 160 mm Fans: Two 14038 fans mounted on both front and back ends. Operating Temperature: 0 °C to 35 °C Complied with: FCC / CE Network Connection: Ethernet
Features
1. Stand alone: The S3 mines stand alone, needs no proxy server. 2. Quiet: The customized heat sinks mounted to the hash boards, one box over S3 to control the air flow, two fans mounted on both front and back ends that mean fans are able to work at lower speed to dissipate all heat easily. This design let S3 run at much lower noise level. 3. Stable: Running 24 hours a day with minimal downtime. 4. Accurate: Hardware Error got from the sample unit rate is as low as 0.3%, which is the lowest in the world. 5. Efficient: High energy efficiency to save your investment on PSU and electricity bills.
Notes
1. Power consumption: This figure depends on the PSU efficiency, ambient temperature and the accuracy of the power meters. 2. PSU: You have to prepare your own the ATX PSU. The S3 ships without a PSU. There are 4 PCI-e connectors for +12V DC input, but it only needs to connect two of them. Don’t parallel connected DC inputs from different PSU into the same Hashing board.
thinking about this i can see i might need more psu's . now i know why i was holding back .

Wow... great price point at 0.75BTC per unit. The specs state you only need 2 of the 4 PCI-e connections if you want to run it non-overclocked - so it would appear I can replace my 2 S1s with these and use the same HX1050 to power them both.
sold out though 0.75BTC isnt bad, espescially if it ships on the 10th. If it ships the 20th though, 0.75BTC would be a little bit over priced (0.65-0.7 would be fair) Not sold out, they start selling in 28 minutes. And the price is perfect. Bitcoin prices are up. Bitmian will dominate once again. YES edit.. my point being that the S3 is priced in Bitcoin, not dollars. And the prices are back up after the US Marshall B.S. If Bitcoins rise in price more, and they will, then the S3 becomes a great opportunity. I will buy at least 20. 10 oclock +8 is actually in an hour and 20 mins. Here in Aus were on the same time and its 8:42 PM as I type this Ahh yes you are correct. Anyone want to bet on how fast they sell out? I say 10 minutes and all gone..... The crazy part is that this is actually a much better deal than most other mining hardware vendors, and it still won't let you ROI, in terms of BTC spent, if you pay anything for electricity. If you don't pay anything for juice, you can ROI.... in about 150 days, give or take a few. That's harsh.

Do the things you know you must do first, then worry about the stuff you're not sure about.

So does the S3 not have the wifi connection? And I wonder how much you can overclock them before needing to use the 4 pcie vs 2 pcie?
