@Colin How about 2016 roadmap?
We'd like to try to stay away from a traditional road map with specific dates, but will include planned features to be included with each release in the soon to be updated OP. You can also see some of that information in the Nexus wiki at https://github.com/Nexusoft/Nexus/wiki/DevelopmentWe will also list features that are planned more long-term and will linclude those under specific release versions when they are scheduled to be completed. I'm sure we can make some generalizations as to what is achievable this year though. Happy New Year!

Dear friends and Nexus family,
I do apologize for the lack of communication lately!
Colin and myself will be producing a weekly podcast for everyone. These podcasts will serve two functions, to keep the community informed on what Nexus is developing into, and to also educate the Bitcoin community on the technological innovations which Nexus seeks to bring to Bitcoin.
Nexus is a protocol and a blockchain innovation organization and community. Recycler and development keys and their corresponding Niro balances, are public. Recently, Colin and I discussed how we will proceed with handling these keys. What we determined, is that these keys allow for a mechanism for decentralized governance. There are 13 developer keys, and 13 recycler keys. Therefore, these keys can act as a balance of power within the network. Just as Bitcoin is a decentralized money protocol and OpenBazaar is a decentralized marketplace protocol, we are moving Nexus towards being a decentralized governance protocol. The recycler keys could also be referred to as "delegate keys" or "ambassador keys" because they can be revoked and re-assigned by voters. These keys will be delegated out initially to valuable participants in the Nexus platform and their holders will be accountable to voters.
Voters are those who hold "Trust Keys" and the more Trust a person has on the network, the more weight their vote carries.
The distribution of developer and ambassador keys will be transparent and involve heavy community participation. The complete distribution of all keys could take years or decades, so these keys have no bearing on the short term.
A fully developed trust key and trust node network lays the foundation for the future so that participants in the community today have the opportunity to develop trust and obtain Trust Keys which will be very valuable in the future.
We would like to hear feedback from the community about this idea.
We will record the first podcast tomorrow (Sunday).

It just means we don't plan to do the pump and dump "Roadmap" that people have seen in the past. Posting specific dates, even months for releases usually just causes frustration if there are delays. Not sure why you think that is boring or abstract when we will detail what is planned just without specific dates. The wiki already has some future release information in it as will the updated OP.

On 25th August Boris asked when we could expect the next release. Viz's reply is below. I'd say a week or so depending on how much I decide to implement. Most likely going to get the mandatory update for 0.2.1 out first then work on the GUI for 0.2.2 which will not be a mandatory update. When the trust keys are extended to 21 days, I will program Nexus to revive any lost trust keys if they have produced a trust block within 21 days of update activation, so those that have lost their keys can restore them Thank You,Viz.Its all very good talking about the future plans, however please concentrate on what has already been promised. It is just talk at the moment and if promised updates are not delivered why should we believe that all this talk will follow through into solid development. Too much talk, too little action.

There's been over a year and half of action, hell, if you want to donate money to development to help cover the $500 a month in server bills or my time, go for it and things will be done faster. Other than that, development in Nexus comes as quickly as I can fit in between a 40 hour work week and having my children on the weekend.
Thank You, Viz.

Why You need $500 a month in server ? Only for NIRO ? I see management problem here .

I been following this coin along time now. Everything gets done slower than people would like but it does get done. I have high expectations for this and have given over looking at the price. Just let it continue on and everything will work out

I know everything 'soon come' with this coin. However when a time frame of a week or so is mentioned and one is still waiting four months later...........
Please do what is promised, before promising more. That is all I am asking!

This is not enough, you have to do more. I know there is something interesting in your brain. But on the other hand Nexus have wallet that opens for 40 minutes. This is unacceptable.

Nothing is ever enough for anyone, but unfortunately reality and your expectations differ greatly. I suggest if you want more to either contribute, or to wait. If you don't want to contribute don't expect things to move any faster than they already have.
Thank You, Viz.

Yes I have not kept to my timelines which is why I don't post timelines that are overly optimistic now a days. Might I remind you the Trust Key expiration idea has evolved into a more complicated system which requires more development time, as in trust keys not being fixed to a specific expiration time but rather decaying based on how much trust you already have at a rate faster than your trust builds.
Either contribute or wait means, either help out with Nexus, or wait. One man can only do so much in so much time. If you guys don't like the speed, a better approach rather than "you should be doing this Viz" is, "Viz, how can I help"?
Thank You, Viz.

YOU was asking community few time, before update about improvement. YOU make promises about timeline. At least , community deserve apologize from you. help is asking , not offer. This is precisely why we will not be offering timelines or making promises about release dates going forward similar to the policy of many other Development Teams. As far as Viz owing anyone an apology, you are wrong in your assumption that he owes this to you or anyone else. This Project was never designed as a get rich quick scheme. If that is your aim, then you invested in the wrong Project. We are here to improve cryptocurrency and innovate. New things take time when they are not copy and paste. For quite some time, Viz was doing EVERYTHING. He has done ALL of the coding. He has been FUNDING this entire venture for many months now, since KryptoKash has been dealing with personal isues. He could have at that point simply stopped all work and left the Community hanging as is prevalent in altcoins. He did not and has not. If anything you should Thank him for his hard work and dedication and sticking around even. It sure does make it harder for someone to have a desire to keep working on a project when folks attack as many do in crypto. As far as the "help is asking, not offer" you are completely wrong. Most of the folks who are helping with this project have offered to help rather than been asked.

YOU was asking community few time, before update about improvement. YOU make promises about timeline. At least , community deserve apologize from you. help is asking , not offer. Take it easy on the devs, guys. I've been with nexus for over a year now and have seen nothing but integrity and responsiveness to community questions and requests. Sure it would be nice to have the resources of say IBM behind nexus and watch it pop into instant maturity.....but that's not what nexus is. It's a decentralized crypto-currency going through it's birth & early development with a small family of devs shepherding it's growth. There's a ton of work to do with so much originality in this coin, and that takes time. The devs have been very clear that their timeline marks crucial checkpoints, and not exact dates; they are goals. If you decided to speculate on what the devs are doing and bought some coins, along with me, that is all that you did. You did not get a signed contract with timeline guarantees. Take a step back and get some perspective, visit the website, and see what has been done here, and how the devs respond to the community. I've enjoyed my journey. And I'm looking forward to what these guys are doing next; maybe we'll even make a little money. But this is crypto so don't expect signed contracts or an SEC to be there to enforce them.
