The community is not aware of Nexus yet, the most  secure blockchain , but still this is something that I hadn't thought about, its a great idea I think.

http://www.datasecuritynode.com/bitshares-blockchain-elects-nuclear-bunker-to-protect-against-all-threats-for-the-next-500-years/

tell me if im being dense but ...

"As recently as 2012 we had a near miss solar event that could have shot society back to the 1800s, instantly rendering our power grid and all electronic devices useless."

followed by

"Therefore, we should hypothesize that these magnetic field disruptions could eventually disorient the magnetized bits that store our civilization’s data on computers and electronic devices all over the world.

If so, let’s hope that miners and others safeguarding Bitcoin and its blockchain data implement preventive measures against these cosmic threats. For example, they could install strong magnetic shielding to protect data storage devices and ensure the implementation of effective data backups”

surely if we were set back 200 years and all electronic devices are rendered useless it'd be pretty pointless to still have bitchains blockchain or any other

Such set backs due to solar radiation would only be temporary, it is not inconceivable that power grids could be back online within weeks the only problem remaining then would be if enough ppl had backed up blockchains and priv keys on some sort of non magnetic storage ie optical disks.

On one hand im happy all these blockchains are making it to Azure Microsoft, it will bring more media to them and people will get to know what they are and what they can do

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/azure-blockchain-update-6/

On the other hand even though I like Microsoft products, I don't trust them at all, remember how they disappear Nokia out of existence, bit of humour to emphasize my point Wink

Please update to latest version of Core (0.2.0.1). I'll be making Ubuntu bins later for those that have trouble compiling from source.
https://github.com/Nexusoft/Nexus/releases/tag/v0.2.0.1

This release includes some updates on the seed nodes, signals, boot and unified time, this is not mandatory update with time lock, but it is highly recommended to run this version.
Database boot slightly faster, new indexing system coming in next release for database boot to require less than a minute.

Thank You,
Viz.

Windoze Bins Updated to Static Linking, should be fine now merc.
http://nexusoft.io/platform/Download

Ubuntu build updated. Left some remnants of Windoze tweaks in the Github push. Going to take some time to write the Ubuntu build documentation before I release Ubuntu bins.
Let me know if you have any issues, (0.2.1) coming next with LLD Integration, LLP Sync Protocol, and some other surprises Wink

Thank You,
Viz.

merc,

I'm at about 4 connections right now, dropped a few seed nodes from budget (was running 6), but bringing a couple more up soon. Address Manager code updates will help with this too, I don't like how it is managed currently. Will post that as a todo for next release.

-----------------------------------------------------

PVMining,

I've successfully built it on Ubuntu 14.0, your error appears to be a missing dependency: the qt framework.
In light of such I have written a document outlining the compile process for Ubuntu & Debian for both the Qt and the Daemon:
https://github.com/Nexusoft/Nexus/blob/master/doc/build-linux

If compiling gets too frustrating, new binaries are available as well:
https://github.com/Nexusoft/Nexus/releases/tag/v0.2.0.1

Or on the Platform:
http://nexusoft.io/platform/Download

--------------------------------------------------

Everyone,

If you are running a dedicated node that accepts incoming connections, post me your IP here or by PM and I can add you as a DNS seed node Wink

Thank You,
Viz.
