Litecoin climb up slowly today at 0.009btc compared to last week 0.008btc and average daily trading volume at bittrex between 15 ~ 30 btc not including other exchanges like btc-e etc. Is it considered dead?
Get ready for 0.01 I wonder what would happen after it reach 0.01? People would be tempted to sell right away and that'll made ltc price to go down significantly. Though I read somewhere that LTC is a good coin for a long term investment. I personnaly think if that happens we would see a big buying pressure that will then need consolidation. (bump and then little consolidation)

Litecoin isn't even playing until it recovers to 0.03. They have a good road map this year too. Would be nice to see 0.05 we need to wait. I see dash are creating development tax of 15%? just think if LTC had even 5% development tax you would see way more development and a lot more than 5% price increase. I don't know why anyone holding LTC would be against it.

According to me, LTC could recovers to 0.03 much more as a consequence of BTC increase in value than its development (at least in the short term, I see both variation are extremely correlated since a few weeks, which was not the case for the past month and btc steady rise vs ltc steady way down).

That 0.03 price is not sustainable. It might be reached during a big pump, but it will not last very long.

Not dead because: - Capable of four times as many transactions as Bitcoin in a ten minute period. Frankly if payment processors had adopted Litecoin in the past year current Bitcoin block discussions would be irrelevant (and likely the price of both coins higher). Anyone who has watched these discussions understands the immediate advantage of a network with larger transactional capability.
- Faster confirmation times. The only people who don't think this is important have never spent a single coin or they have patience that the average person does not possess.
- The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks.
- Anti-spam.
- Fast well established network. Current Hashrate is 1,643 GH/s. Since scrypt is memory intensive it is known to be approximately 1000 times slower hardware wise in comparison to SHA256. Fair comparison to the Bitcoin network requires multiplying that hashrate by 1000 (1,643 TH/s). The fact is for most of Litecoins history the hashrate has been relatively high and secure. Those comparing it to the Bitcoin network without considering this 1k factor are either being disingenuous or just ignorant of the facts.
- Continuous development look here at number of releases in past year: https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/releases
- Upcoming new features and active development look here for whats happening in 2016:
https://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/3z2ta1/ama_official_litecoin_developers_and_litecoin/ - Longevity. Many coins have temporarily eclipsed litecoin as they were marketed for the purpose of increasing the fiat accounts of a small group and emptying the accounts of new users. Unfortunately this has been detrimental to crypto-space in general.
- Great community.
- Fully supported by GoCoin a growing merchant payment processor used by thousands of merchants https://www.gocoin.com/ as well as other processors such as coinpayments, Asmoney, Alfacoins and Coinify
- Liquidity. You can sell thousands and not crash the market. Maintains value. Look at the chart here indicating volume in the last 24 hours relative to other coins. http://cryptocoincharts.info/coins/graphicalComparison In fact volume has remained high since last June while maintaining a stable price.

Litecoin is officially dead, why you may ask?
Litecoin has had an impressive runup this past month for a coin that is "officially dead". It's also interesting that it's one of the VERY FEW coins that attracts enough interest and attention to get ASIC makers involved in it. It's also been a rare case of a coin that's been STABLE enough to achieve ROI on ASIC gear (many of us with A2s and Titans have been ROI on our gear for a while now, I suspect most of the Alcheminer folks have managed RoI, and we're just printing money any more with some having to be paid to the Power Company). Litecoin also has wider acceptance among BUSINESSES than any other coin except Bitcoin and PERHAPS Dash - and THAT is what will keep a cryptocurrency alive for the long term, MARKET ACCEPTANCE. Will Litecoin every achieve it's once-stated goal of being worth a quarter of a Bitcoin? VERY doubtfull. Will it break back up to more than 1% of a Bitcoin? Could get there next month if current price trends continue. I have to agree that this troll needs to pick better targets to spew nonsence about, but unfortunately trolls are notoriously hard to kill.

Why allow ether before Litecoin? Maybe Im just sore because Ive been mining and selling ETH for awhile now with zero interest in keeping it. However, I do think its good to have a reputable exchange available to purchase different coins with more ease. Over all a good bit of news. Oh, and yeah... Litecoin is totally, completely, absolutely and with out a doubt 'officially' dead....

Ether right now is the "hot" coin, though Litecoin has been a lot more stable since it's halfing last year.
I suspect the "hot" of Ethereum will dry up big time once it goes PoS.

The recent spark of ETH is (possibly) merely because their current promotion with DAO. Never try to do the DAO, but they said you can exchange ETH to some DAO, and it got people excited. While for LTC itself, they didn't do any recent promotion (not that I know) that made the slight sparks up these days, but its price is increasing whatsoever, so I think LTC has more fighting power than ETH
