We are getting to the 50/50 point regarding the ANN. We should meet half way and partially update it to include pertinent information. Cryptozim has offered to help in the process.

I should have a version ready for Mark to check by tonight or tomorrow.

That's great news. I think BTM will begin to get much deserved attention.

IMPORTANT

Should we implement peercoin's check pointing in this release?

I know it has been seen as contentious, however all checkpoints come from the repository owner (me) any way, this allows me to update checkpoints without rebuilding the client.

More importantly it means all nodes on the network have recent checkpoints without downloading or rebuilding a release, including exchanges and mining pools.

Please advise and discuss.

I personally have no trepidation over the implementation of check pointing. Mark you have earned my trust and I have full confidence in your abilities as a developer. I understand your unwavering commitment to quality and thus I am in support of this option.

Perhaps it warrants further discussion and we should delay it until the next release, open an issue on github and research plus test thoroughly. I'm 99% certain I could have it implemented and working today thanks to prior work by Sunny, however that 1% risk isn't worth it.

This release will contain configured and test alerts, new branding, and bring all people who upgrade to the newest checkpoints.

good work on the coin thus far. we are happy to be working with bitmark.

a recent discussion point from my group is wallet technology - is the BTM wallet going to be changed in the future to get a more simple system? something that is easy to use for people that are new to crypto has been suggested.

re: check points system, i feel that if it is deemed appropriate, then go with it, but if its not completely essential, dont create the extra workload ...

Our goal is to have hundreds, or thousands, of wallets and ways to interact with and store the currency. Consider the 'QT' to be a temporary then legacy interface which is enough for those used to crypto currency to get started. Most people's interactions with Bitmark will be through marking, pressing buttons on websites and transferring from service to service. Apps, browser wallets, alternative clients, we hope to have a wide range of them, and foster competition between design and experience specialists. There will likely always be a P2P daemon back bone network, but the last thing we want is for our friends and family to have their first encounter of cryptographic currency be a clunky unintuitive downloadable program, no currency, and to be required to jump through several hoops before being exposed to even the slightest utility.

Checkpoints, deferred to be discussed under separate cover Multi Signed Broadcasted Checkpoints.

I will be retiring for the day shortly as I've been preparing things for the last 26 hours. Not before releasing an updated client however Smiley

This is absolutely the way forward - simplicity | security | usability - this will aid adoption. We can often forget just how 'ignorant' the mainstream are about cryptocurrency - it is all geeks, smoke, and mirrors to them.

Get some rest - you deserve it...  Smiley

The OP looks great and is very well organized. The only addition I would suggest is to add the logo below the title to establish brand recognition.

Thank you Cryptozim, well done! Mark, the reformatted OP looks good. Clean and Informative, yet w/o much hype.

Lyynx, we are on the same page with this one.  Wink

I also believe the addition of our Logo/Icon will contribute to the establishment of brand recognition.

Miningpool.co have lowered their fees to 1% at our request. Spread the hash.

All,

Please update your clients to v0.9.2.2 - this was a security release, branding was a side product. If you are running v0.9.1.1 from the previous release you do not have any new checkpoints to prevent against forks, and you do not have alerting to be informed if something has gone wrong.

The main seed nodes, exchanges, and pools are all updated frequently to mitigate risks.

Thank You

Thank you on both counts, credit to Cryptozim for his efforts on the OP.

I'll update the list of developer loans, 3.7 of 8 now, almost half way.

Now to contact all the places with our old logo to update.

it does look better, but there seems to be one thing missing...the logo. So much effort was put into creating a recognizable logo that can be used a variety of places...but its not on the OP?

On the check pointing issue, it shouldn't be a big deal to put in. The bitcoin core devs select blocks buried in the block chain (usually with hundreds of confirms) to serve as check point blocks. It means that they have existed in the block chain for a long time and have been available for scrutiny. The likelihood of miners rejecting the check point is low, because its a block that has existed for a long time already. And any potential attacks would be missing a check point from way in the past, a sure sign of an attack.

I need help from others, as I am taking on too much. Let's start Delegated cards, anybody can do them - assign to yourself in Trello or say here that you are working on it.

1. OP Graphics and Branding
2. Create List of Existing Contacts

Thank you.

Mark,

Returning:  {"value":"0.00000000","generated":1408686372}

Since yesterday evening - in case you were not aware! Using this for a dynamic 'current value' module.
