TURN DOWN INTENSITY ON YOUR MINERS.

Some miners are wasting there hashs because of high DOA shares. DOA shares don't count towards your payout so your only hurting your own payout.  The hashrate shown on the website includes DOA shares. I will soon be showing DOA hashrate and % DOA.

Intensity should not be set any higher than 8

My 6850 oddly gets more MH/s with intensity at 5 then it does 6+.

NOTE:
New server is now located in Tampa, Florida
Ping time from my home computer in Michigan went from 69ms to 53ms
VPS was shutting down i0coind because it was such a memory hog. This is no longer a problem with the dedicated server.
Weird. I live in Michigan also and my ping went from ~55 to ~70.

Do you mean Intensity when using CGMiner? Are the Intensity scales identicle with other mining software, like Phoenix or POCLBM for instance?
How would some one notice? What would be occuring in CGMiner for instance that would suggest intensity is too high? GUIMiner? POCLBM alone?
The Intensity scale within CGMiner covers -10 to +10.

For Bitcoin to be a true global currency the value of BTC needs always to rise.
If BTC became the global currency & money supply = 100 Trillion then ⊅1.00 BTC = $4,761,904.76.

That number was for CGminer. I don't know how that compares to other miners.  If you go to http://p2pmining.com:9332/static/graphs.html you can see how your DOA rates compares to other miners

Is Intensity the only factor to affect the DOA work?
Can you add the % of avg. DOA from avg. MH/s to graphs? -Mean: is meaningless to me when comparing to other miners as parameters vary. 4.9TH, 300TH, 48TH

Thanks for the heads up about the Intensity on cgminer, my DOA rate was around ~11%. So i'm curious to see what DOA rate I end up with now. Also is everyone else running cgminer with 1 thread per GPU (IE -g 1)? I saw in the main p2pool thread they said that helped?

I run my miners with -g 1 and I usually get less than 5% DOA.

I am working on making that a metric to go by on the main webpage.  Those other graphs at p2pmining.com:9332/static/graphs.html are the p2pool program native graphs and I have not looked into how those are generated.

Setting the number of threads per GPU to 1 with -g 1 in cgminer seems to help also.

Having only one thread makes sense because with two threads your only getting shares from each of them 50% of the time, so theres a bigger chance of stales when longpolling kicks in.

Apparently it depends on the card, too. Setting the cgminer intensity to 8 on my old GeForce GT-240 will essentially hang the whole system. I think that makes it spend so much time hashing that it becomes completely unresponsive to everything else. Cheesy Intensities from -2 to 2 work well. Depending on ambient conditions I sometimes have to lower it a couple of notches because the GPU temp gets uncomfortably close to the spec'd maximum operating temp.

@JayCoin  Maybe you can add a **div** **p**Alert: turn down your intensity/aggression, it is hurting your profits severly! **/div** Just above their graph for the time being.

I will implement something soon so that miners can get some feed back to gauge their efficiency.

Right now I got to write a capital request and a kaizen meeting schedule for Monday at my day job.

P2Pool seems to be on a big ass run of bad luck. Figures that would happen after I shell out some bucks for a new server.

So, I set intensity on all my gpus to 7 and I still have roughly ~10% dead rate. When I set intensity lower, my gpus only mine at like 95%... I'm on Win7, cgminer.

Try changing threads per GPU to 1.

When I was intensity 9 my dead rate was ~11% after switching to intensity 5 my rate was ~5%. My average ping time is ~110ms to p2pmining.com(I'm on West coast).I did notice my AVG Mh/s did drop a little bit, but I've been playing around with my fan temp and clock speeds so i'm unable to tell how big of a difference it made.
