Been watching this coin for awhile. It seems to be stable and doing what is intended. Bought .1 BTC worth today.
Yup, a very nice coin. PoS is the future.

what, where, how ............ flux connector ?? type of big questions came in my mind as soon as i read your post I think it is due to using an updated berkely database version, but i am not entirely sure.
could be but other daemons working very well. i had to redo my all pis recently from scratch so spent 2 weeks to sync and bring things back to old state except HYP. presstab you have community support knowledge and resources why dont you or anyone come up with the script like jc12345 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=258091 did recently for PayCon and one of the other coin i dont remember.

which part ? i tried to compile headless client on raspberry pi, followed instruction as per wikia; but whenever i did run wallet i got above noted error msg. thn i emptied entire ./HyperStake folder, left wallet.dat, tried to sync with bootstrap but every time i got same error msg. so i quit for time being till weekend. Hort suggested about flux connector engagement, about which i have no clue what it is!!! i suggested to do something like what jc12345 did for paycon, one click install with the up-todate bootstrap. especially for raspberry pi users (to save long compilation time)

I do know that Hedgehog01 had this same error when he built the XRA wallet, but he sorted through it somehow. I will see if I can track down some details.

Previous versions I compiled had run fine but when I tried the new version I got the same exact error. I'm no expert (far from it) but I think the difference in my case was that between the successful attempt to the broken one, I had tried to compile other coins and installed other packages and I'm pretty sure that is the cause. while I was trying to remove the other packages I corrupted my raspi system and ended up reinstalling the whole system from scratch and then compiled the XRA wallet and it worked great. So to sum up, if you have been trying to compile other coins it may be the cause and you may need to remove/update some packages (but be careful ) Good luck.

To recover, BACKUP THAT DIRECTORY, then remove everything from it except for wallet.dat. pi@raspberrypi ~/cryptos/HyperStake/src $ I had it numerous times, it has nothing to do with BerkeleyDB (libdb, which is used only for wallet.dat, blockchain is stored in internal binary format). It happens when filesystem on sd card gets corrupted (happened to me many times when downloading blockchain or just anytime, sometimes during system setup on fresh installation, sometimes after few months). Reason could be unstable power source, overclocking, weared or faulty sd card. I've recently abandoned sd card as storage (made it read-only) because it's not 24/7 reliable and moved raspbian to USB device (could be usb3.0 pendrive - require less power, or external hard drive). So far so good, no corrupted files. Rule no 1 : Remember to make frequent backups of your coins' blockchains and wallet, so you don't have to resync from scratch if crash happens.

Well, on the same raspi the old wallet worked great and only the newly compiled one had issues so not sure SD-Card is to blame in my case at least...

I've found interesting fact : Explanation of -detachdb (and the new “stop true” RPC command): The Berkeley DB database library stores data in both “.dat” and “log” files, so the database is always in a consistent state, even in case of power failure or other sudden shutdown. The format of the “.dat” files is portable between different versions of Berkeley DB, but the “log” files are not– even minor version differences may have incompatible “log” files. The -detachdb option moves any pending changes from the “log” files to the “blkindex.dat” file for maximum compatibility So when changing deamon to new version it's recommended to stop the old one with "hyperstaked stop true". Worth trying.

SD Cards are terrible to begin with, now add constant read/write operations and you are bound to have some trouble.
