That whole hashtalk forum is a cesspool of hate and anger at the moment.

If you aren't attacking Josh and company you will get downvoted hard.  The place is full of anger bitter teenage virgins all angry after the weekend of no sex again and gunning hard for confrontation...but hide behind their downvotes lol

Its really pathetic in there today.

LOL teen virgins i dont know if you just saying that or that was your teenage years, but i sure was never angry over that issue. Hell now that im married and have " open " fun marriage i still got more fun back then. I really hope you are wrong though about angry bitter people i personally dont use ht

Not mine I imagined thats what it would be like if such were the case and tagging it on with how bad they were acting.  I just observe on there and read some thread now and then but dont comment since even the most normal post gets down voted into a banning lol.

The CEO made a post on HT with the sole purpose of letting everyone know that he will announce something in a few hours or later today or whatever the phrasing was. And then didn't announce anything and didn't offer any explanation

No-one whose been 'online' for more than 5 minutes takes any notice about 'coming soon' webpages, forum posts etc

Plus the whole concept is counter-productive anyway - either make the announcement or dont - no-one gives-a-monkeys' about annoucements of upcoming annoucements :p

Here's the annoucement.
https://hashtalk.org/topic/11076/back-from-vegas

Quote
HashPoints will be worth 1¢ each!
That’s right. While you’re still going to earn the same value from HP inside of ZenCloud as you have been, we felt you weren’t getting the rewards you deserved for contributing to the community in HashTalk. So we made them worth more!

The HP you’ve already earned will be converted to be worth exactly what they are now based on BTC/USD. But now inside HashTalk, you’re going to earn far more value for posting great threads, answering questions, making people laugh… and especially for getting CEO upvotes (100HP each!). Each individual HP will be worth much more now, so start racking them up!

There will be new things that we will be releasing that can only be purchased with HashPoints

And on the topic of getting more value… there’s some tough news I need to share with you. If you’ve noticed MultiPool lately, you’ll see that the pool’s payouts have fallen considerably and are approaching a Hashlet’s maintenance costs faster than we’d like.

Is there something we can do about it?

I think you know the answer to that…

We’re temporarily increasing MultiHashlet Payouts to keep them profitable
We will temporarily augment the payout of all MultiHashlets that could possibly return a negative payout. The method is to cancel out the negative payout and simply return at least $0.01 USD per MH instead of the previously negative amount. This is a temporary fix we’re introducing to keep MultiHashlet owners’ ROI numbers green while we monitor MH pool’s performance and work on a permanent solution if we need one.

This is one of the reasons we think Hashlets are the best and most advanced miners in the world. MultiHashlet owners are going to be the first to see some of our innovations kick in for the first time that are specifically designed to keep ROIs up longer than any at-home miner ever could be capable of. Just keep in mind this isn’t exclusive t MultiHashlet. Every Hashlet you own is designed to be just as adjustable so we can squeeze more ROI out of the system than ever befre.

And while we’re on the topic of ROI, I want to say something about the price of Bitcoin lately. I want to say that we understand these last few weeks have been a hardship to many of you. We know better than most. We don’t sell a single bitcoin for fiat as a company policy. So we’re right there with you not just during the good times, but the tough times as well.

But we’re a big company. We can sustain though market volatility better than most people and companies. We haven’t lost sight of that. We know this time has been a struggle for many of you.

We want to do something about it.

We have a few ideas that we’re in the process of considering, but let me make one thing clear. We want to do something to help you keep your spreadsheets positive, even during hard times.

We can afford to take a hit to our balance sheet to help our customers hold out during fluctuations in the currency markets. We all in this together. We’re not going to win unless we all do.

So stay tuned for a huge update coming soon!

And speaking of updates, I want to share with you some info on the ZenCloud Buy & Sell Marketplace.

Tens of thousands of Hashlets have been traded in the last week alone! Thousands of users have been able to purchase Hashlets at discounted prices while other users have been able to convert their Hashlets to BTC by selling to fellow users.

This is huge.

Now not only are Hashlets the safest, he most advanced, and the best selling miners in the world, but we’ve done something else that’s extraordinary.

You’ve all built the largest and most active miner trading platform in the world!
And it’s only going to get bigger and better once we roll out Project Prime.

I want to say more… I’m not allowed to :grinning:

So instead I’ll continue with what I can say to you…

Genesis Hashlets will now be able to be bought and sold on the Hashlet marketplace!
It took some time to build out our trading system so it would work with SHA equipment. But now that the work is done, Genesis owners can enjoy the marketplace just as our Solo and Legendary users have. We have more plans for SHA hardware as well.

And now that we’re on the topic of the Marketplace…

We will be cutting off all sales of new Hashlet Primes very soon…..once we do that, you will be able to trade them

Revamped Hashlet Prime Buy Backs are now Active!
Now that we’re completely redoing the ZenCloud database and refactoring all Hashlet profiles, we’ve done the work needed to launch a smoother “Buy Back” system.

We decided to add the Buy Back program because we know some users bought into Primes before they knew other options were available. Of course Primes are the most powerful Hashlets in the world and they’ll gain even more features over time, but we don’t want anyone sticking with an investment they don’t want.

The Prime Buy-Back guarantee will let you be able to sell it for $40 minus what you’ve mined. This means you can “opt out” of your Prime purchase if an emergency comes up, you want to try another investment, or any other reason at all.

A revamped Buy-Back are not the only feature we’re adding to improve ZenCloud for securing your investments. Some of you have had trouble in a different way.

A handful of users have reportedly listing their Hashlets for sale with inaccurate pricing when using the sell feature in the marketplace. The vast majority of users haven’t had any issue with the interface, we don’t want to leave anyone behind with their investments if we can help it. And so I’m happy to say…

We’ve Added a Confirmation Screen on ZenCloud Sales
We’ve gone to work to ensure every seller has time to double check all the details of their sell order before they list their Hashlets on the marketplace. With the next ZenCloud update, you will see a confirmation screen when you attempt to list your Hashlet for sale. You will have to confirm the sale before your Hashlet is added and can be bought by another user.

But sellers are getting more than just that. Added security is nice, but openness and transparency is just as important. So now, I’m proud to say that…

The Hashlet Marketplace Now Shows Seller Names & Seller’s Custom Message
We’ve reached out to many of you on this feature and the conclusion is clear. You want an active, community driven marketplace that’s very different from traditional stock markets.

This fits exactly into our vision of an open, fair, and transparent Hashlet Market. We want it place for miners to come together and cooperate on buying and selling the best miners in the world.

So from now on, you’ll know see exactly who you’re buying from and be able to read a message from the seller before you buy (if they leave one, it’s not required).

This feature will promote the type of marketplace culture we want and add accountability and security to individuals and organizations running charity events and investors making large purchases.

We know we’ll get some pushback for this change, but that’s fine. We’re building ZenCloud to be the best cloud mining platform in the world, but like anything else, it won’t be for everyone.

And now… the moment many of you have been waiting for…

Prime Hashlets can now Convert to SHA-256!
Hashlet has been so successful that we didn’t have to just add SHA hardware to meet with the demand, we had to add a whole newdatacenter! This has taken quite some time, as you might imagine. But now we’ve reached the point where we can give Prime owners the SHA access they’re entitled to. Now you’ll be able to target SHA-256 pools with your Primes. The conversion ratio is 40GHs SHA for every 1MHs Scrypt.

Normally this is where an announcement like this would end, but I wanted to fill you all in a little more on the October cryptocurrency conferences in Las Vegas. You’ve been feeling the impact of much of our team away from the office - so at least you should see what’s been going on!

GAW was invited to InsideBitcoins & Hashers United in Las Vegas, which we’ve been attending this week. I’ve been asked personally to speak at both.

We know most of you couldn’t make it to Vegas, so we wanted to share some photos with you and give you a chance to read the speech I gave at Inside Bitcoins.

But there’s one more thing.

To celebrate GAW Miners in the spotlight at some of the biggest Bitcoin Mining events in the world, we’ve decided to do something special. We’ve given something special to a few lucky people who visited us in Vegas.

Introducing The Limited Edition Legendary Vegas Hashlet!
The collectors among you have been loudly asking for a new Legendary for quite some time. And while we’re keeping Legendary Hashlets extremely rare and exclusive, we thought we should release some for special occasions like these.

We’re only releasing 100 Vegas Hashlets. The only way to get them is through the marketplace or if you visited at either of the conferences and won it on our Prize Wheel.

That makes them among the rarest of all the Legendary Hashlets we plan to release.

And to enhance their value, we’re giving Vegas Hashlets the same features as Hashlet Primes!
We don’t want Vegas Hashlets to be rare. We want them to be incredibly powerful as well. That’s why we’re amping them up to Prime status.

Cut off the first part of the announcement, as it doesn't say much beyond Josh admitting that they might have sent too many people to the conference, and have formed some partnerships which should boost Project Prime (launch date postponed to Q4 instead of Oct 23).

Another post said that they have acquired some other companies as well.

The Geniuses at Work Corporation, the parent company of bitcoin mining hardware specialist GAW Miners, has acquired a controlling stake in cloud mining provider ZenMiner for $8m.

GAW Miners had originally announced a partnership deal with ZenMiner earlier this month. At the time, ZenMiner agreed to provide cloud hashing services as part of a broader strategic partnership.

In the latest deal, GAW Corp. acquired a controlling stake in the cloud hosting company. GAW CEO Josh Garza told CoinDesk, the stake purchase follows a period of close collaboration between the two companies, and that the development also reflects the growing role of hardware hosting in bitcoin mining company business models.

As Garza explained, the deal will allow GAW customers to either receive their miners through the mail or immediately begin hashing through the hosting service. By bridging the connection between hardware seller and hosting service, miners can generate revenue more quickly, he said.

Garza explained that the deal’s main benefit is that it puts more power in the hands of hardware-buying customers, saying:

“I just want to help miners make some money, help get them some return on investment (ROI). I’m just so tired of manufacturers milking miners for all the money they can.”

they have already been converted. i think they were worth 0.000001 btc a piece before. they took your old amount, multiplied it by that and the current usd/btc exchange rate. you should have the resulting amount as hp left in your account which are now worth 0,01$ a piece. your hashpoints have exactly the same worth as they had before, they just converted them to cents.

Woh! I had a single prime split out and for sale for a while. I just looked and it wasn't for sale anymore so I went to set it for sale again. It asked if I wanted to sell for $30.36 and I said yes. It sold instantly.

ADDED: I tried with the rest of my primes and I could have sold them at the same rate but I clicked cancel for now...

Their main business is cloud mining in the form of hashlets and I think the OP albeit a bit dated gives a decent overview of what it is.

Hashlets are priced reasonably and have reasonable returns (well, only ZenHashlet really) compared to other cloud mining options. But you would still be looking at ~6+ months ROI with some undefined risk since we don't know how difficulty changes will affect profitability and maintenance fees are charged in USD and have been approaching 50% of earnings recently.

There is one potential advantage with hashlets - there is a resale possibility through their marketplace, which hasn't worked well so far but if it gets fixed it might be an option to get cheaper hashlets and/or sell them when you want out.

Support and communication is really bad, so don't expect much there.

There is no source. GAW used to be a reseller for ZeusMiner and Crazy here is confused by somewhat similar names ZeusMiner and ZenMiner. Zeus != Zen and Zeus has their own "cloud".
