All that happened was GAW screwed up with activation codes. They sent out 25mh codes to people who bought 5mh Primes. So, this hacker stuff is nonsense.

As a company you should never say you were hacked unless it legitimately happened.. Totally kills confidence levels in the users. Granted they may not have ID'd the actual cause yet, but jumping to being "hacked" is a huge leap.

I doubt they are going to sneak primes in to the market. Obviously they can't just leak a massive amount of them and they do take 10% of every transaction which works better long term.

I would find it more believable if they didn't have their shills and moderators hyping up the prices in their own forum... it's starting to sound uncannily like so many shitcoin pumps right here on bitcointalk.

Well, I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens next, since I still can't get rid of my stupid "fury".

Selling your fury is easy. Click the hashletsettingsthing and "round up" from 1.3 Mh/s to 2. Then split and sell.

Though I don't know yet whether they've fixed the split/merge bugs. My 250 Gh/s hashlet is still missing.

I did the upsize thing. I didn't do the split fearing potential issues, but I should be able to sell 2 MH/s in one piece. Except buyback just didn't work for me (kept throwing an error) and now ZenCloud is down so I couldn't put it on sale on the marketplace either. But I'm not in a hurry, I'll wait.

Yeah it's kind of funny going with the "exploit" nonsense. They sent out the wrong codes, GAW did that not someone else. People activated them and were like, cool man I got 25MHs for the price of 1MHs, I'm going to sell them and make some bank.

This is a problem made by GAW 100% with their greed and Prime market manipulation.

As I posted in one of the "I accidentally sold hashlets too cheap" threads, it will be interesting to see what the final resolution is for this snafu. GAW will probably try to reverse the "fraudulent" transactions. Will it be consistent with their position on seller errors in the marketplace, i.e. when someone sells 900 zens for $18. Seller fucks up and buyer gets a too-good-to-be-true deal - seller's fault. GAW fucks up and buyer gets a too-good-to-be-true deal - will it be buyer's fault?

Here's another gem:

ZenPool Fluctuations

Hello,

As some of you may know, we use a combination of mining IPO coins, multipools, etc to achieve the payouts ZenPool offers. Our most important method is renting out hash power to private companies.

I am in the process of renegotiating the contract between us and our largest private buyer. The payouts will drop for a bit while I finish the negotiation, the will return at or a higher rate then before. I ask for your patience while I finish this.

Just a heads up

An additional silver lining is that, soon, we will not need to do private rentals. We will be able to use it for ourselves for Project Prime

https://hashtalk.org/topic/11712/zenpool-fluctuations/3

So... I guess we're going to see a couple of days or maybe a week of shit returns all around. Woo hoo! And this is why all my reinvest goes into LTCgear right now (until they screw us.)

Yes but I don't think GAW has not fully milked the scam yet, so I am betting that zencloud will in fact return for one more round of hashlet sales.  In order to do this, GAW will need more coins.  My best guess is that they are running their actual mining farm right now to get as many coins as they can to support the withdrawals.  Maybe they will impose restrictions on withdrawals, hold times, etc. in order to "manage" the alleged non-existent hackers ability to exploit the non-existent exploit.  Maybe they will freeze accounts of users who have large sales recently (with the claim of suspicious activity and a resolution process that will take weeks).  The accounts that could be targeted this way will have a few users screaming on hashtalk but they will quickly get shadowbanned.  In any case, GAW wll have to find some way to limit BTC withdrawals to keep the ponzi going.  Shutting down the market will be the most important next step but I am guessing they will not do that until they can offer the new ponzilet (e.g., hashbase) and get a new crop of sales from that.

Great timing with Mintpal also going down. These episodes only convince me more that GAW-style cloud-mining is too centralized and risky.

The only innovation GAW has provided, imo, is making shininess very valuable while the work at the grindstone is neglected.

It's inexcusable to have your main/accounting websites down due to on-going marketing operations. I've said that to AT&T during the iPhone downages, and it's the same for GAW.

Looking forward to the L1 to break back out of this trap.

Question for the GAW diehards out there--what do you think when GAW makes mistakes constantly like this?

1. Is every company really this incompetent? (which seems to be Josh's argument as he claims all software is buggy like this)

2. Is there something hypocritical or unethical in a company that punishes others mistakes but clicks the un-do button when they make the exact same mistakes?

Meaning, when people accidentally sell a hashlet for $.02/MH and Josh tells them to tough luck, but then GAW sells them for $10/MH and freaks out and suspends all withdrawals and closes Zenpool until they grab the BTC and hashlets back? (ignoring the issue that GAW should really have a marketplace that uses price/MH as the base price, as that is how all marketplaces operate and why most users are making this "error")

Too many coincidental "failures" "exploits" "hacks" " 503 errors" "maintenance" "cannot process this transaction now" etc. all coinciding with the decision to open primes for sale in the market.  I just don't buy it.  I was on the fence before (though still very skeptical) but with all of these strange, unlikely problems occuring at the exact moment that sales of primes were finally allowed ... it seems much more credible to believe that GAW ran out of BTC and cannot allow withdrawals so they need to find a way to restock and/or slow down the withdrawals.... which points strongly to ponzi scheme.

Jesus some people are just too stupid, I don't even have the words for it:

https://hashtalk.org/topic/11783/donation-to-gaw-zencloud

Dear all,

Looking on how things proceeds i came to the idea that we as customers of GAW /Zencloud need to do something back for them.

Why?

They are working their ass off solving issues like

    issues with Zencloud
updating us for everything they are doing
    they deserve it

For all the effort GAW and his Team are taking to care about us i suggest they open a BTC wallet adres(LTC and DOGE is OK too) where we can make some donation to them.

By doing this i think we can show our respect and love to them even this will not be enough but at least we can say: We Love you.

So if there are people out there who can arrange this, it will be AWESOME.

Kind regards,

Simple

How about, hey stop fucking shit up every God damn week. There, that's a better response I think.

A psychologist could write a paper on clients reactions to negative news. You are hyping yoursevves up and they are making it worse by using words like "hack" and "delay". They should learn from cabin crews: ladies and gentlemen, we are flying through a storm front, the shaking and cracking is completely normal, please relax end enjoy a movie, while we prepare some snacks for you.

Well they already have a term for what all the cheerleaders are doing: Cognitive dissonance
