just a quick question for the tech guys out there im thinking of buying a sapphire 280x to replace my xfx 6870
as far as I can tell from googling both cards under load are around 250watts so I shouldn't need a new psu
does anyone disagree with this from their own experience of running a 280x
280x is a replacement for the old 7950s basically but they do use a bit more power then the 7950s. It's a decent buy if you planning to mine the coin at these prices but what happens when this coins POW phase ends. There normally isn't much other coins to mine where you can ROI, although you could mine other coins a buy SLG with it. Obviously if you plan on gaming with the card then it's just a win/win What PSU do you have? A 600 Watt or 550 Gold Status power supply should be more then enough, it also depends on what other devices you are running.

Any decent brand of PSU over 400W will be able to handle a 280X (250 for GPU and around 70W for CPU etc). I had 2 on my machine with a Corsair 650W. On my rig we had 6 280X's with two Platinum rating (can't remember the make) 1200W PSU's. Maybe overkill, but it was the cheapest workable option leaving room for upgrades... Sold up though as mining became unprofitable when ASIC's kicked in. Even with SLG at this price i don't understand how miners are mining it to even cover the electric bill.

Looks like someone is purposely pushing the price down on bittrex to force miners to sell out for less. Clever tactic unless someone takes that sell order out.
More like the multipool driving the prices down with auto conversion to btc going on. Might as well put in low price orders in if the multipool will sell cheap.

The 280x is a waste of money. Just buy 280's. Save yourself the $/£/€

Of course Spencer Lievens is currently working on the addition of a live Bittrex feed to the wallet and a Sterlingcoin to £ Converter and also the Android standalone wallet. Steven Saxton is working on the Faucet and the tweaking the 'Paper Wallet Creator' to perform better on mobile. Matthew Langdon is working on the sterlingcoinapi.org.uk online wallet system, adding address search/live exchange price/bagholders to the explorer and also the Android wallet. Collectively as a team we are constantly looking for merchants, having interviews with various media outlets, promoting Sterlingcoin full-time, assisting the community via email, within the IRC channel, Skype and Teamviewer. Don't worry, we are busy.

Wallet update to version 1.1 is progressing.
Currently I (Spencer Lievens) am fixing the styling on the coin control dialog.

We have decided upon not having IRC in the wallet.
This is for a number of reasons:
1. Resources being used
2. Bulks up the wallet unnecessarily (we have email for support)
3. We cannot risk new users that are not part of the crypto community being scared away by IRC chatter

Looks like the storm hitting the US has taken out a lot of mining rigs.

I'm wondering when the whales are going to start chomping SLG up. I hope I can buy enough before then. The price is too cheap to pass up.
