This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on Friday, January 27th 2017 unless the average daily trade volume for the last 14 days exceeds 0.5 BTC. If you would like to keep the market listed, please encourage the development team to contact us at support@bittrex.com. If you have questions about the policy, please see https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202583874.
Yes i know this one. Bittrex gave Magi more time to show more activity. Looks like the most people of our awesome Magi community are traiding on Poloniex. There is the volume very nice.
It was a massive battle last time to increase the trade volume on trex - and we never made it - We have more volume than last time - but I think its very difficult to get 0.5BTC per day consistently on there - as you say, most volume is on Polo - its a same as Trex is much more volatile and a better trading opportunity

Glad to see you again. It's been some time for me on the work stuffs as well. Smiley I'm not yet into Raspberry, but someone did a guide as I remember. I'll try to find it out. Also I'm interested to get a Pi like for staking; either way I'll figure out a guide.

Glad to see you too Joe. It is nice to be back with Coin Magi as it is one of the best altcoins out there with a good community and solid development. I've become interested into staking XMG with a Raspberry Pi 3, but if it is possible to stake on the Pi Zero too, then I would prefer it as it is much smaller.  Smiley

Hey 111magic! Long time no see. Thanks for sharing this link towards the Raspberry Pi wallet build. I've been anxious to start my very own XMG Raspberry Pi node and start staking within it 24/7. Since the Pi uses very minimal electricity, it should be very convenient to stake and mine some XMG with it.

I've been holding so many altcoins, and have been trying to keep up to date with all of them so I haven't got time to check out on Magi. Still, I would love to get back to buying and staking XMG for the next POI (if there is going to be a next one soon).  Roll Eyes

I might give that a go myself some time. I want to also start researching how to create apt-get packages - would be great to have a apt-get install magi-pi

Welcome back Abiky good to see you on the forums again

Sounds great. It would be very handy to quickly setup your Raspberry Pi wallet with just a single command. There are many users which are not very tech savvy when it comes to compiling and building a wallet, so this would make it easier for them.

I'm glad to see you too Starmman. It has been quite some time since I have been away from Coin Magi, since I have been very busy with other altcoins as well as college stuff. Whenever I have free time, I will try to keep updated with Magi. Just got interested into making my very own Raspberry Pi wallet to stake some Magi and leave it working for 24/7 generating you some "free" XMG with no effort involved.  Smiley

Hi Abiky, Very nice to see you here again!
I hope to launch a new proof of interest later.
The Proof of Interest campaign is still very unique for altcoins.
And the last one gave a great interest. 6.7%

I have a problem with the wallet:

..

After a while the connections go back from 4 until 0 and the program says wallet offline.

What can be the problem?

So much staking and so a low reward is also not right....

Any ideas?

I believe magi's PoS seems working well, cause it makes one having such a huge amount of coins being too much concerned about the rewards. Smiley No offense. It's kinda coming down to how so-called PoS-II works; be sure to check if what you PoSed matches with APR; if not, then could be strategy of putting how much coins in stake..

As to the network height, it's supposed to be fluctuating.. However, I'll get it into be on the to-do-list of the mPoS things that's part of the works after this release.
Thanks Joe. Very nice.

Stacey2911 i will check it. I'am only human and could make a mistake. I will send you a message after the check.

No worries mate, completely understandable, these things happen

I have a few spare machines I setup to mine Magi when the difficulty is favorable

I currently have two machines that kick in anytime diff is under 2.8

Do any other miners have a better recommendation as far as the best difficulty to start mining at

Glad to see the Magi community is still strong and active

Thanks in advance for any advice

im using something like this
Code:
coins/day = ($hps*$blockReward*86400)/($diff*pow(2,32))

7.1597550907907=(23000 * 21.11959989 * 86400)/(1.3648007*pow(2,32))

blockReward : 21.11959989
diff : 1.3648007
coins/day : 7.1597550907907 xmg
price : 0.00001999 btc
0.00014312 Btc/23kh/day

Thank you, that looks much better than what I was doing

With this I can mine something else until the diff gets low enough to make it energy efficient

I never understood why people throw so much hash power at this constantly when it would benefit everyone more not to.

Thanks again!

Old good coin, same as BLK, VTC. Todays trends are Platforms, but just few can survive.

Build your MagiCoin XMG Wallet
...
sudo apt-get install -y libdb5.3-dev libdb5.3++-dev
...

I appreciated your efforts, and the guide is very helpful; probably I'd mention that installing db4.8 instead of the new version is strongly recommended. Unfortunately, that might need compiling from source code; the corresponding binary package is likely unavailable.
hmm..
if i build with Berkeley DB 4.8
(
Code:
make -f makefile.unix xCPUARCH=armv7l CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/local/db-4.8.30.NC/include -O2" LDFLAGS="-L/opt/local/db-4.8.30.NC/lib"
)
and use your blockchain file (http://coinmagi.org/bin/block-chain)
i getting this
Code:
Magi: Error initializing database environment /home/pi/magiNode! To recover, BACKUP THAT DIRECTORY, then remove everything from it except for wallet.dat.

Do you guys think we should do something to save Magi on Trex again - or just see what happens? I think until we get more people interested in the coin we'll be struggling to keep the volume up on a regular basis.

when you are on poloniex and so many other exchanges what is the point of worrying about bittrex?  if they dont see the value in having magi listed there or need to have .5 BTC trading a day happening then that is honestly not the XMG communities problem.  Anyway, it would be great to still be listed on as many exchanges as possible, but my point is that bittrex does not make or break the project so it's difficult for me to really care enough to do anything.

I guess it's because the prior wallet was with db5; you might search for db5 conversion to db4.8, or just start up a new wallet and then move funds in.
