And as i was replying to you, that block was minted at block 1463043, https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/block.dws?1463043.htm which went to xmgpool (Congratz Wink )
The reson for this not being block 1463036 is that there where a couple of PoS blocks between.

Yes, right:

All coins in Bittrex are using the bitcoin icon... must be a problem in bittrex system, or an update bug.

i wont worry about that if you just fluctuate in and out of 250. they are actually sending warnings to the top tier 1st and there are some with 500-1000. some have even higher than 1k on other pools

You are really strange people..  limit users on one of pool while others can still mine at full power.
And big hashers can just install own pool, I did it.
Probably I need made my pool public and call it "Pool for big guys" Smiley))

This is a valid point that I have suggested fixes for a couple times now.

Please answer this dev or assistants:

WHY DOES THE GLOBAL HASHING RATE CONTROL THE INDIVIDUAL POOL REWARDS?!

This is a HUGE vulnerability for hackers/powerminers/speed demons to abuse the network to prevent everyone from getting fair rewards.

The math should be calculated at the POOL LEVEL so that only individual POOLS lose their block reward down to minimum so the people who are mining this coin correctly as it is originally intended to be mined, can do so without having to lose their block rewards NETWORK WIDE because of private pool mining and private solo mining in pools.

This is big enough of an issue, I will refer to it as a bug from now on.  It's a buggy feature that the entire global speed controls what the individual pools get.

If a pool is mining correctly at low total hash, then it should be getting normal rewards....while the pool mining with high hash, should be dropped in reward to 0.1 so there is no way that the abusers and hackers and excess hash miners out here who are clueless about how to work as a team and only out for themselves have NO INFLUENCE on the pools that are mining correctly.

Did you guys notice that Bittrex changed the MAGI COIN icon to a bitcoin icon default image?

Enoch

I agree. The assholes abusing this coin should suffer, not everyone. Sadly this is what has happened. A few people have utilized their botnets or their companies' PCs without permission and are ruining the reward for everyone. See:

Rank      User Name   KH/s   XMG/Day   BTC/Day
1      HHogan   2,019   177.799   0.0101
2      Gehacktesmacher   2,003   176.414   0.0101
3      anonymous   1,671   147.166   0.0084
4      sz1977   1,085   95.558   0.0054

That's from Minerclaim. It's not even worth the effort to mine with these people on the chain.

How many H/s would it be consider "decent" to mine MAGI?
Buy I think the right question is how much high should be the network hashrate to keep the coin  on good health.
At this moment, entire network has about 77MH/s: about 48MH/s distributed on the 6 known pools, and 29MH/s possibly by solo miners (a couple of big ones or a lot of small ones?) Should it be right, away from the individual high powered miners?

No worries about Bittrex. Magi team has good contact with Bittrex and they will wait until dev gives green light for new releases!

Lastly about pools with rules. Hey if you dont like them dont use em make your own if you know how to make em. If you cant make em then move to somewhere else. If all of them have same rules solo farm. Its their rules as long as they do not cheat you then they have the right to implement anything they stipulate. Besides the hash limit has always been the heart of magi coin. Pools who have this rules and enforce them just support what magi truly stands for.

So many other coins out there. If you dont like what magi has to offer pick another coin. Dont waste trying to make this coin in your image because it is the developers image and roadmap that is going to be followed. Better yet if you can make your own pool why not make your own coin while your at it. Your coin your rules.
Pool owners are a pool owners, magi devs are a magi devs. Dont mess owners with devs. Owner rules arent dev rules. Joe said nothing about 250KH/s, so stop give your opinion/pool owners opinion as the truth in the last instance. Who are you to f lecture us? If you dont like discussions about limits - close this page, sell all magi and mine another coin, ok?

You'r right but that's kinda harsh suggestion to  sell magi just because he disagrees with pools making their rules, I  would just say stop mining at that pool if you'r not happy with it.

Hi, I got a little information back from 'topia, they said the constant wallet updates were taking a lot of there time and they only have a small team. They didn't say that it was completely the end of the road for magi - so still a bit of hope there...

I actually think it's a better idea to wait now until we get a proper fix, chain has been stable for days now. No issues shown in my logs (On both poolinfo and private wallet)

During the first days it actually came to a part here i've banned one ip from reaching poolinfo due to massive accounts of bad blocks and misbehaves (93 of them in ~18 hrs). After that, 0 misbehaves.
That ip is still banned from reaching poolinfo but will lift that ban tomorrow.

Saturday afternoon, relaxing with a good beer, and asking myself: why not just junk the POW?

AMEN brotha Smiley I've been askin myself that too

It's very simple, dudes.
There are few easy stages that will follow: 1) thousands past miners who want to sell Magi junked; 2) all exchanges junk the Magi due to low volume; 3) Magi junked at all.
Do you want this scenario for Magi?
I do not.

In my opinion, Magi is more about giving the smaller players a chance - if we go PoS only, it'll give proportionally more to the people who already have a lot (maybe they have to run a few extra wallets for this if there is a reduction in % based on balance), PoW under XMG is a great way for new people to get a foot in the door of crypto and try some mining. Yes, its being exploited now by a couple of big players - however if we can dampen that exploit a little I think we could attract a lot of fresh blood into the community which will be a driver for longer term value and enable more liquiduty on the markets.

Actually i like the concept of how high hash would lower the reward of mining. It may not be perfect but it is a step towards trying to decentralize they coin by at least trying to dissuade big mining farms. Again not perfect but how many coins have tried to exercise to dissuade mining farms. I see plenty of people complaining but never really giving an alternative solution except 1 who wants pure POS. Though id like to keep the mining part just needs a little tweaking.

Personally i would remove the delay in reward change to immediate instead of slow changes per block. This way if a big mining farm jumps in he will get a good reward for a block then poof 0.1 coins on the next block. if hes unlucky and did not get the block then he cries. Or better yet put an emergency block reward penalty when hash suddenly increases by 50% from the last block that way it would be harder to manipulate. I think this is possible since Bitcoin cash implemented an emergency difficulty adjustment in their code.

I like the idea but I think it still gives issues in practice. What is going to hold them back from going full power on a block with high rewards, then step back immediately because they know the following block will be almost worthless, full power again etc. I'm afraid that the fluctuations in hashing power and immediate block reward changes are gonna make botnet owners even more capable of influencing the rewards on their own.
Do I have a better idea? No Smiley.

Going full PoS isn't really that interesting either. I think the coin gained a lot of interest as being promoted as CPU only and offering people with 'bad' computers a chance to be part of the mining community.

Yes, to give "average Joe" a chance to mine with his "average PC"  and really get some money - it's the whole point of Magi  Wink
Devs must do all they can to secure that!

Hello,

We have updated Pool42 to include a new script that will automatically and regularly check the hashrate of every clients and remove the workers exceeding the hashrate limit.
As we can't overlook at the pool hashrates, 24/7, this bot shall deal with clients exceeding the limit, and that, more efficiently than we could ever do.

If your workers were removed for exceeding the limit, you just have to recreate your worker(s) and restart your miner.
Happy mining  Cheesy.

I have been waiting to try mining MAGI for several weeks now but there's always something wrong. I'm sick of downloading unusable wallets and blockchains. Now the discussion seems to be focused on the big Khash users. Let me tell you that this isn't just a MAGI problem! Every CPU mined coin I've tried has the same problem. I'm currently mining Karbowanec on a pool that normally has just 6 to 10 active miners, and a "rule" that states 30 to 50 H/S max. So it's hashrate is often over 2 Khash! My 15 H/S makes a return of one cent every two days!

The point is that Every CPU miner needs a fix! I sincerely hope that this community and developers can find a way to address the problem of high hashrate users and give us small guys a chance again. MAGI could lead the world if it fixes this problem.

I'm not following you here, what does Karbowanec have to do with magi?

What kind fix is needed for every cpu miner? Every CPU miner should be optimized to run att full speed with so many cals per second as your CPU allows it.

Then you need to configure the miner to work with the optimal speed for that coin.

minerclaim.net of course replied to my request to deal with an unauthorized transfer of 43 coins.
But the compensation of 6 coins, it looks soft to say so-so. But even so, than in any way.

minerclaim.net I thank them for their response and coins.
