is there a problem with the network guys? I have not staked for quite some time.
Just went to check myself, and windows security essentials has removed my wallet from my hard drive - so not sure at this end =(
No sure if it is related to your issue, but I had an issue over the weekend where windows defender reported the “m-wallet.exe” as a virus and deleted the file. I will then unzip the download again and straight away the same will happen. In the end I just added the file to the windows defender exclusion list so it does not scan the file. It seems to be working for me.
I've just done the same - took a few attempts for it to allow m-wallet in the end - finally syncing my wallet again =)

Since the 24.02 I minted only 2 twice, is that normal? Since I am a newbee, I didn't wanted to ask, but since minting questions are being asked. I thought I would join in. the last few days, I see only Expected PoS (days)  from 2 days to 0 hours, and up again, but I never receive anything. Is this normal? Huh Huh Huh

btw.: if Expected PoS (days) says 6 hours it take sometimes 4-5 hours to go to down to Expected PoS (days) say 4 hours . Is this normal?

Hey guys. Noob here. I mine with xmg.bullmining.com. I did a manual 'payout' 2 days ago.....All the while my wallet was running and up to date with the block-chain. I still have not received my 'payout'. I have restarted to wallet, restarted the computer and done just about anything I can think of without redownloading the entire blcok-chain as I only have 3 MB interwebs...

Any thoughts?

Only thing I can think is that there site went down for over a day and just came back up. Might have delayed something?  The only other thing is, did you create a receive address for bullmining?

Yes I did create a address for them. I have made different addresses for the different pools. I am mining with a couple mobile phones and a RPI 3 on a different pool just for something to do. Once summer rolls around here and I get my solar panels out again, I will be mining with them with no elec cost. I did go and double check both addresses to verify they were correct. I did notice that the site has been down but that it was up earlier today and now it is back down, but it did not stop my miner from mining. I am still running on bullmining. I did send an email to bullmining and asked for their advice as well. No response as of yet, but I am sure that they are just a little busy with the site being down.

Can someone actually explain to me how staking should work? Not the hand waivy stuff (i've already read and followed these PDF instructions) - but actual process.

I tried a test with m-wallet, which has 94 XMG in it. The transaction that received the 94 XMG has had 520+ confirmations for more than 24h. However, m-wallet still says stake 0 and that "Total of coins that was stakes and do not yet count towards the current balance" is 0.0

magi.conf is:

Code:
listen=1
server=1
daemon=0
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcthreads=1200
rpcuser=x
rpcpassword=x
rpcport=3920
port=3910
posii=1
stakesplitthreshold=30
stakecombinethreshold=100

looks like most staking transactions are confirmed - however a few of my stakes have been orphaned - out of 24 staked blocks since yesterday 3 were orphaned

Hi there - it usually takes about 8 hours for blocks to be eligible for staking, that eligibility is based on the weight of your block which is calculated by the age of your block and the number of coins in the block. I try and keep around 500XMG in each block and tend to stake pretty quickly. When I had a lower balance in the early days it used to take a few days between stakes and I'd have to sometimes send coins back to myself if they were above 10-15k confirmations.

If you want to know how it works in even more detail - look up the white paper on page 1 of this thread - it has some graphs and mathematical models detailing how it all works in great detail.

If all is working correctly, hover your mouse over the green mining symbol at the bottom of you screen and it should say something like 'Staking. Your Weight is XXXX, Network weight is XXXXXX, Expected time to earn reward is XX hours'

My network weight is 451211, if yours is much smaller then you could somehow be on an orphaned network.

My netstakeweight is 333560.68780583, how can I switch? Is that really a thing, an orphaned network? Man I am sooo a n00b.  Undecided

Thanks for that. First, the tooltip over the green mining icon in my case says:

Code:
Staking
Your weight is 167
Network weight is 333560 <-- this has risen from 328480 as I was typing this
Expected time to earn reward is 2 days

I don't think I'm on an orphaned network - current block number says 1697314. Is that the current mainnet?

You said "eligibility is based on the weight of your block which is calculated by the age of your block and the number of coins in the block. I try and keep around 500XMG in each block and tend to stake pretty quickly"

Would you mind explaining what "weight of your block", "age of your block", "number of coins in the block" means? As well as "tend to stake pretty quickly" means? ... I seem to have little control over the process (not sure how I can stake more quickly as you claim - just get more coins?)

Also, if you look at my previous screenshot, why does it say "Stake: 0.00" (tooltip: total of coins that was staked, and do not yet count towards current balance). Does it take 2 days for that to become greater than 0.00?

Is there anything I need to do at this stage other than keep the wallet/node open and online?

Hi,

Yes this is totally normal, I think its to do with the Magi algorithm and total network weight - it gets a bit more predictable with the more magi you have in your wallet.

We are about to buy some XMG as well. I suppose it is cryptopia for me because the stories associated with yobit aren't good.

Bittrex trading for magi is pretty good too - yobit wallet has been out of date for about 6 months so avoid if you want to transfer in/out

EDIT: I seem to make more trading profits on 'topia as there is less liquidity on there

hello

I'm currently solo mining with 140 kh/s how do I know if I found a block and on wich wallet will I get the payout?
and on witch kh/s is the max hashing rate before I get less block reward?
and is this for each wallet or is this for each miner?
and how does the chain know my hashing speed?

I think you'll get a block (and therefore balance) added to your wallet - I wasn't brave enough to try solo mining before though

the balance will be sent to the wallet which found the block - if you are running multiple wallets then you will be effectively running multiple solo efforts - I don't think its recommended to run the same wallet on multiple servers - so I think most people create a solo pool - as I say didn't try it so could be wrong

there are a few solo miners on the reddit page - maybe some better experience could be found there
