They claim to have fixed it in May '17 - https://bytecoin.org/news/bytecoin-2.0.2-software-update/

A claim which is completely unverifiable.

Now reread the OP here and decide for yourself whether anything they say is to be given any weight whatsoever without independent verification. I have my opinion on that of course.

Thanks. TBH, I have never bothered to verify it, sorry! Tongue

Edit - I have read and re-read the the OP, and regularly espouse it to bytecoiner's but they don't seem to care except to make $.... again... Tongue

Edit2 - I agree with your "opinion" as well... Which is why I'm LOL'ing at the guy raising BCN here for bugfixes. Cheesy

Has anybody been watching the recent re-developments on bytecoin? Some new (and alleged) Bytecoin Official has arisen -- Jenny?

Jenny says all is well and Bytecoin is in fact still in R&D. She's in the know.

She's arguing her case on Reddit.

Github is active, as of 6 days ago. New "open source" product now?

How does this change things?

Don't we still have the scammy launch?

I post on Reddit under "Danesjold." In the Bytecoin forum, my last post was titled https://www.reddit.com/r/BytecoinBCN/comments/6sp00o/warning_bells/ Warning Bells."

Anyone care to chime in on Reddit?

I gave BCN_Official (Jenny) negative trust after they showed up on the Bytecoin thread below. Many are asking for proof - also asking where are the old dev's Rias / Ullo etc etc...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512747.msg20749481#msg20749481

Anyhow, I don't know what's really happening, but there seems to be  a lot of new shills over there proclaiming it to be the "Best" etc etc... Roll Eyes

Lastly, amjuarez, the github coder has been active and I believe released a new wallet. The main thing over there is the problem with poloniex having the wallet disabled. They are even pushing a change.org petition to have them open the wallet...  Roll Eyes

What is really happening is the same exact thing that has always been happening (including a hint of it documented in this thread). Bullshitting, social engineering, and using shills to pump coins. That's what they do. They're somewhat good at it, by 2014 standards, but frankly their 'marketing' techniques look a little tired for 2017.

Well yeah, that history part was sort of implied, what I really meant was I don't know what the source code status was as for it being "open-source"... But yeah, same shit, different year(s)... Tongue

A claim which is completely unverifiable.

Now reread the OP here and decide for yourself whether anything they say is to be given any weight whatsoever without independent verification. I have my opinion on that of course.

I read the OP. All I see is butthurt, butthurt everywhere (insert meme). I was mining Bytecoin[BCN] back in 2013.. I found it by accident through a simple google search looking Bytecoin [BTE]. Anyone else here could of done the same if they were searching for BTE.

Domain Name:BYTECOIN.ORG
Domain ID: D162497614-LROR
Creation Date: 2011-06-11T03:36:44Z

So they launched a new cryptosystem without marketing it? Who cares? Satoshi did the same shit with Bitcoin. He posted his whitepaper on an email list (http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.encryption.general/22386) and created this forum to build a community. That being said, the whole premise behind Monero is a fair launch Bytecoin.. what exactly has Monero done in the last few years besides FUD other projects and resort to gutter trash marketing tactics. If this same principal were applied then shouldn't Litecoin be the "fair launch" Bitcoin since Satoshi was some shady guy (/s) that didn't bother marketing the shit out of his project? But but but he instamined so much Bitcoin though (/s)

Thank god Charlie Lee didn't pull the same shit as the Monero Camp with Litecoin.

Note: I personally could care less either way at this point in Bytecoin's lifecycle. The damage has been done by the Monero team and the project is so tarnished it will take a smart contract hail mary to pull it out of its current predicament. While I don't necessarily agree with their roll-out it isn't too much different than Bitcoin in that respect all the forensic whitepaper conjecture aside.

Let's look at similarities:

Satoshi Nakamoto (Bitcoin)
Nicolas van Saberhagen (Bytecoin)

<break>

Since we're on a scam accusation thread, let's talk about Monero and the now defunct Oasis DNM. In a two month period Oasis launched and convinced a legitimate DNM to add Monero then exit scammed their user base.. The funds were most likely used to pump up Monero to its former all time highs. They also offered to assist in the implementation of XMR.

Timeline:

August 19, 2016
The darknet marketplace Oasis announced support for Monero
https://steemit.com/market/@generalizethis/oasis-market-adds-monero

August 22, 2016
AlphaBay also announced that the marketplace would also accept payments in Monero.

September 1st, 2016
AlphaBay Market also said that deposits and withdrawals in Monero could be made from September 1, 2016 onwards.

Around October 1th 2016 Oasis goes offline
https://themerkle.com/top-3-recent-darknet-market-exit-scams/
https://cointelegraph.com/news/monero-loses-darknet-market-in-apparent-exit-scam
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/oasis-run-dry-anatomy-dark-net-market-exit-scam/

My Conclusion: Whoever created Oasis was involved in the Monero community in some capacity. Either a core dev or someone close them. I wouldn't be surprised if this scam was the brainchild of Fluffypony. His gutter trash marketing tactics have no limits. Remember the coordinated attack on Shadowcash's ring signature implementation?

The Oasis market was around just long enough to convince AB to add Monero and then as soon as they did they went offline to cover their tracks. What this tells me or anyone else with a brain is their whole purpose was to get a legitimate DNM to add Monero, not to service the DN community. Well played scam. The user below sums it up quite well.

So your whole response to a post that has detailed evidence of forged dates, using software before it existed, and the rest... is butthurt.

Fuck off scammer. The balls of you people. You actually created more coins from thin air when Monero found the cryptonote bug and you fuckers have the audacity to double down on the scam.

Its just sad. The best chance the world has to free itself from the reigns of back asswards monetary systems and you pigfuckers come in and literally shit all over it.

For shame.

Truth

I spew shit out of my mouth then eat it for fun and profit.

Like I said butthurt everywhere. Good, good let the butthurt flow through you. Bitcoin was instamined, Bytecoin was instamined, Dash was instamined. Every coin that you didn't get first dibs on was instamined and for the record I have nothing to do with the Bytecoin team. If you bothered reading the first part of my post you would see that I found Bytecoin by accident in 2013 and mined it. So according to your logic, because I found Bytecoin, mined it and sold it - I am a scammer? You should do the world a favor and sterilize yourself. We don't need more of you floating around this world.

Let's talk about the real scam where people ACTUALLY lost money you dumb inbred fuck. Oasis and its premeditated exit scam which product is the sole reason why Monero has a high market cap. There is no other fucking reason. You and your team are the fucking scammers who fucked people out of money to hype up your shit coin and sell it off to the sheep who bought into the bullshit. You want to talk about freeing the world from the reigns of central banks when your team is willing to scam people out of money just to promote your fucking project.

Talk all the shit you want about Bytecoin, I could care less. I have no dog in that fight. The fact is you built your shitcoin on top of it. Whoever those people are they're a lot smarter than you lot. Shadowcash came in and implemented a ring signature design on the Bitcoin codebase (from scratch) and your whole fucking team attacked them. Instead of trying to help them or assist them in "helping to free the world" as you put it, you coordinated an attack on their project. So don't try to bullshit me with your noble intentions to "save the world" you false fuck.  They did something from scratch and all your shitcoin team has done is fork a coin and relentlessly attack any other project that poses any type of technical threat.

P.S. That applies to you as well smooth.

Well played scam.

Laughing completely out loud.  First of all, is the same old crap over and over again.  Monero copied the great work of the bytecoin geniuses "whoever they are".  Nothing original came from Monero.  Monero is just a copy.

Blah blah blah.

It's the same thing over and over again and has been for years now.

And you talk about butthurt.

But the best part was when you brought  shadowcash into it.

Ha ha.  Hahahahahahahahaha.

Again no mention of the real scam where people actually lost money. Keep laughing. I know I'm laughing at all the triggered fucks and even harder at all the dumb fucks that keep buying into your shitcoin. For the record, the only thing solid that's came out of the Monero project is LMDB everything else is piss and shit.

Every coin that you didn't get first dibs on was instamined and for the record I have nothing to do with the Bytecoin team. If you bothered reading the first part of my post you would see that I found Bytecoin by accident in 2013 and mined it.

Do tell us where you found it, and for extra bonus points provide evidence.

Because this is what the web site looked like until March 2014:

http://web.archive.org/web/20140128152612/http://www.bytecoin.org:80/

And this is what was available on their github repo prior to 2014:

https://github.com/amjuarez/bytecoin/tree/175d06e75e05aa4a42269dd048516e13b5bd585e

(for those reading who are not familiar with code, there is nothing there but a basic crypto library)

Bitcoin was posted on a mailing list before launch (and a mailing list reported to have a few thousand members, though I can't confirm that), there was and is a record of discussion of it shortly thereafter on sourceforge (and later other places), proving that it actually existed and was not premined 80% using a phony backdated chain. A large number of people were mining Bitcoin before it was even 25% mined, much less 80%. (I mined it just after 25%, and there was already a large community here when I showed up.)

No such evidence has ever been found in support of Bytecoin existing prior to early 2014. Only occasional claims from fools who don't realize they were mining the other Bytecoin, or deliberate liars/sock puppets. As I said, shills and social engineering (with the occasional useful idiot thrown in).

Do tell us where you found it, and for extra bonus points provide evidence.

Because this is what the web site looked like until March 2014:

Hah hah rekt!

All of this Bytecoin resurrection stuff is because someone is throwing a tantrum: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/crypto-speculator-threatens-bytecoin-development-team-one-week-then-i-dump/

Do tell us where you found it, and for extra bonus points provide evidence.

As I said, I found it through a Google search looking for Bytecoin[BTE] although I may of made a mistake on the year. It was shortly before or after I started mining Darkcoin and that was in January of 2014. I truly must be a scammer since I mined both projects.

The earliest web archive puts Bytecoin's snapshot in February of 2014 not March, but I could of sworn I found it much earlier than that.

http://web.archive.org/web/20140225123108/http://bytecoin.org/

The fact remains when I found their website by accident when there was no mention of the project anywhere else. Regardless if that was December 2013 or February 2014.

Aren't you the same dooshbag tool that invited Ryno out for beers at a beach bar and then showed up in a full business suit? LOL! Then you turn around and mounted coordinated attack on his project? What a stand up guy you are. It seems your Oasis DNM scam worked out well for you. You're even able to donate to the forums now.

Nope, not me. Ryno came through to Plett and we had an excellent lunch at The Grand, I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Summer's in Plett are cooking!

I have not ever been involved with any DNM on ANY level, much less Oasis. You're currently sitting 0 for 3 on your last few statements, you seem to be confused about a lot of things.
