Somebody did it again! Difficulty is 100 now. Any idea of when the gravity well will be fixed?
Ridiculous isn't it? I'm chatting with the dev right now to see if we can address this sooner than later. We're also considering adding in a pair of globally distributed checkpoint servers. In other news, I've placed the order for the new enhanced block explorer with blockexperts.com and they have indicated that it will be ready in a couple of days. -dvd

Ridiculous isn't it? I'm chatting with the dev right now to see if we can address this sooner than later. -dvd Sad to say but it's just screwed until the wallet is fixed Mining pool hub regulars have given up and now it's somebody else that's exploiting the vulnerability. It sucks, you try to doabitofgood and some conscience void money grabber breaks the whole thing for the sake of a couple of bucks. You should probably leave it stuck until the wallet is fixed, at least that way the ill gotten gains will be stuck in limbo for a while. If you take a look at mining pool hub blocks page it shows up like clockwork, they chip their way through 10 blocks at high difficulty then poof 20 low difficulty blocks are gone the difficulty is back up and the process repeats itself. It looks like the mining pool hub regulars have now given up along with me. Between the 2 of us we had a consistent 800 MH, and whoever is doing this blew past us like we weren't even there. let me know if you need any testing the new wallet.

We've confirmed that its fully enabled and now we have a sandbox to do our work in. We were really surprised to find that the original devs didn't have one. Also a little amusing is that over 25M "coins" were generated in the first 300 blocks which of course mirrors the main chain. Anyway, we will be working on the addition of new transaction and block types as well as replacing the KGW function. Once we're satisfied that it works in the TESTNET we'll ask Bittrex to suspend trading for a period time to force a wallet update for the majority stakeholders. -dvd

We found a bug in their total coin supply implementation which they acknowledged and are in the process of fixing. Our 'official' explorer is online and up to date at http://explorer.2givecoin.infoAs for Bittrex -- they do not run "full wallets" on their nodes, just API implementations -- so as far as I know they do not have full copies of the blockchains, nor the interest (or need) to host block explorers -- it's not a competitive advantage for them, IMHO. NOW, having them LINK to the blockexplorers of each coinbase would be trivial to implement ;-) -dvd

He is registering a real legal charity. I think there's some big things coming. It might take a year though. There was talk about moving to PoS, so that might happen sometime. PoW really holds down the price, which then turns off any new supporters.

PoW really holds down the price, which then turns off any new supporters. The primary issue we're having at the moment is the codebase GIVE was generated from isn't quite up to par for doing PoS --we're experimenting in the testnet with different block and transaction types to see if we can pull it off cleanly. The OTHER tack we're taking is looking at doing a coin-exchange from Give 1.0 to Give 2.0 possibly via Bittrex -- we have our attorney reviewing it now -- to make sure that we do not run afoul of any securities issues -- which having a non-profit manage it makes the matter less likely. The REAL exchange will come when https://doabitofgood.com launches its "under-writer" program later this summer -- just like any non-profit (think of National Public Radio who's generous under-writers provide support...) -- we want to offer the opportunity for companies and sponsors the ability to "pay whatever they want" for a charities coins -- just like a silent-auction that many charities hold now. You have to be into GIVE for the right reasons and if you're here to make money for your own benefit, then this is not likely the right coin for you to be involved in - IMHO. -dvd

It will be called a scam and the coin will suck. It's only useful if you are looking to do a pump n dump n disappear. Read this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=880220.0I have started some guidelines for how to perform a transparent swap. I haven't heard of anyone following those coin swap guidelines before. GIVE could set the standard for how to properly do a coinswap. The whole thing with cryptocoins is that they are transparent. If you can't follow all the coins from creation to end, you mine as well create a sql database that stores all the coins and get rid of the blockchain.

Price has been increasing also. The older coins are doing well. This is one of the first x11 coins and it's still around. Although price has increased a bit it's still a super cheap coin.
