That's RIDICULOUS:

https://www.virustotal.com/en/url/e6ded245b19f4fffd4705f479a47d0a2c4154f3e9528459c8aac514d0c1ea989/analysis/

We scan it constantly.  And that report returns clean

You can always buildit from source ;-)

I'll file a report with Kaspersky:

https://newvirus.kaspersky.com

You can hit "clean" which I've done

Thanks for letting me know!!

We had a false positive on the Windows AV tool last week

-dvd

Kaspersky Antivirus heads-up:

I'm running a 2Give wallet with setgenerate on a Windows 7/64 desktop.  Kaspersky outright stopped the wallet and deleted it:  "Detected object (process memory) was deleted."

Also, Kaspersky reports:

Finally, there seems to be a disconnect with the Windows QT wallet - the main screen reports 22 transactions, while the actual transaction page only shows 16 transactions.  The transactions and reported balance are in sync, and there's no sign that any actual transactions are missing.  It just seems that the transaction number on the main screen/page/tab seems to be incorrect.

Nah, not ridiculous - normal behavior when a program that's accessing memory and an app designed to catch system access find each other.  I just added an exception for Kaspersky and setgenerate in the wallet.  We'll see how it goes.

I'm actually more concerned about the transaction disconnect in the wallet.

I get it -- if Kaspersky has an intel on what it thinks the memory access was all about I can try and do a trace.

I've been thinking about ripping out all the inactive IRC code -- just doesn't need to be there anymore

What you're seeing are likely ORPHANS -- if you go to Advance Options (in Help) and check the console with

listtransactions

you'll likely see orphan blocks from mining -- where someone beat you with a better solution at higher difficulty or got it broadcast to more nodes than you did faster

I will look at updating the main screen to reflect the number shown in Transactions -- thanks for the call out!

Sophos marked 2GIVE as PUA, false positive I believe.

PUA = "Potentially Unwanted App"

Yeah it can detect the codebase for mining since there are a lot of symbols in the source labeled "bitcoin*"

We can submit false-positive reports

AND we can also adopt "polymorphic" techniques that work to obfuscate the code Tongue

Very simply we COULD do a global "find and replace" for all things "bitcoin" and replace them with "givecoin"

Seems like more trouble than its worth to me ;-)

I have seen this false alarm with several wallets. So, no need to worry!

I think the root cause is some old malwares which hijacked hosts for btc mining.

There is some MNT leftover in wallet.cpp, I found it while checking my 2Give logs.

I believe it's related to this line:
https://github.com/LittleDuke/2GIVE/blob/59b0e4ea90b96dd056a3027d4bbac25aef7af825/src/wallet.cpp#L370

Logs from debug.log
Code:
WalletUpdateSpent found spent coin 1000.00MNT 307bee7a35a25d44b82aa52b88d620abeb9ce2ec61c068abe8e0ae892320f5f8

Btw, what is MNT?

LOL -- there is a TON of "cruft" in the code -- I haven't even purged all the CWC (clean water coin) stuff yet

I just pulled it out and pushed wallet.cpp to GIT

Give me 2GIVE addr and I'll spiff you some bug bounty coins ;-)

Thanks!  One of the things that is on the strategic road map is migrating the database to SQLite away from BDB -- something that the Bitcoin Core group has stated is part of their plans.

I think what I'm going to do is take the time to implement the GIFT system using SQLite as a first step to that migration.

LOL -- it's been trading for less than a week!

2GIVE has a strategic roadmap and backing.

The reality is that we are currently barred from trading and we have made ZERO buys/sells.  We have to maintain that to build confidence and transparency in the base.

I've been watching the Bittrex address and am pleased to see that people are moving them out of the exchange.

Economics are powered by "Supply & Demand"

Pull the Supply away -- it's the only lever you have.

Pull your coins out of the exchange and stake them!

Also consider introducing 2GIVE to more people!

I can relay that once the "Gift" system is working we'll be making some press release announcements in mainstream media...

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/2give/
I love this explorer, good job DvD..

Thank you :-)

I like that it gives us different summary statistics than the blockexpert version.

Tells me how the coins are distributed -- we have some work to do to 2GIVE it all away (that's the SNF goal) -- which we will do through on-going "air-drops" until we're no longer the majority holder.

The "Market Cap" is interesting, but I wouldn't obsess about it -- that's a wall street game.

The tokens are going to matter more when we get the Gift* card capability online combined with the mobile apps.  It will gamify 2GIVE in a way that no other coin has done to day.  It will introduce crypto to the next generation...

Think about Yelp! meets Social Tipping.

Put a small sticker in the window of your business and people can snap scan and then send them some coins to show support.  Businesses can buy blocks of coins and then give them away as part of their loyalty rewards programs.

When someone checks in at a location by sending 1 coin the system can reward them by sending back 10 coins if the merchant is participating -- or someone could make a geo-tagging game out of it by posting a little qr-code on a tree in a park and then for everyone who tags it with a coin could get more coins back.   Easy to create competition games to see who has the most street cred.

Right now the best thing everyone can do is to pull their coins out of the exchanges and keep them in their wallets where they can stake 5% interest and help us keep the network secure.  It's safer holding your own coins anyway right?

Yesterday I accidentally found out about your coin, download and run the wallet for a few hours, but did not "caught". Today also launched, but it is empty. Or you need to have coins there? Today I bought Yobit.net 1000 coins. I hope that soon get a few coins while running the wallet. Amazing you have created a wallet-running and does not load the computer ?! I have not seen such. Kudos to you!
