Thanks fonzerrellie!

We've been tracking the cadence of POS:POW blocks -- the "air drop" that SNF is supporting by bouncing 100K blocks between our seed nodes is working!  Combined with the recent observation of over 50M coins getting pulled from Bittrex suggests that the stakeholders will prevail!

At some point we'll have enough stakeholders securing the network that the "air drop" can end and the network will be self-sustaining on 90/10 basis of POS/POW blocks to give everyone confidence of having their transactions confirmed in timely manner.

The next release, RC6 is almost ready -- a few more changes and a lot of testing and we'll have our biggest boldest and most newsworthy release to date!

It's Better 2GIVE

Hello Fellow Stakeholders!

We now have an easier UI option for not only importing Private Keys into your wallet, but ALSO a "Reclaim" option in Gift that makes it really easy to sweep your unredeemed Gift*Cards.

In other news, SNF has notified YoBIT that it seeks to have them facilitate a KARMA:2GIVE swap at a 10,000:1 ratio to fold in the Karmacoin holders to our ecosphere.

We'll see if they wanna help liquidate the over 2.7B (yes, BIG B billion) KARMA held there.

It's no secret that we have been interested in the "KARMA" moniker for some time, having filed and obtained a USPTO Trademark on the word related to a reputation index

http://www.tmfile.com/mark/?q=864119639

The Release Candidate 6 (RC6) version is progressing on schedule!  Once we clean up a few UI bits related to the Import Private Key function we'll finally be ready to implement the new "Donate/Support" tab that will offer an in wallet directory of approved charities and pro-social causes that YOU our stakeholders have voted on.

There is one more MAJOR release planned (RC7) before official 2.0 party launch...stay tuned!

Thanks, been testing the software for many years & always try to call IT as eye see IT. Git lost in the testing from time to time (real world in all), never giving up on how great IT would be {if} to focus on the actual General User Interface (GUI) & many years of pulling my own hair out with learning (linux since 2010, still enjoy Windows & not able to use a Mac/Address ples to often) everything on thy own (search engine learning if you will). When you learn the differences very quickly, you start to see IT would be just like most concepts in the world & all depend on who has access to new or stuck with outdated (original ideas may still work <some are more secure & some less due to decades of code fixes>, but @ what efficiency compared to the new & would there be a way to balance IT out).

//if we create a world of very different options in software, the learning curve would be the greatest feat & key to actual use (must be usable). the first years of bitcoin were that of only command line users & many other factors included, electrum + many other topple application give the user more understanding on usage (must be easily usable, not everyone like to learn & most just want IT to work). The real thing that crypto software has done for me would be opening up the "know how" of what operating systems & browser do in the background, machine code or engineering {if} you will.

You can now see that POS generation now accounts for over 60% of the block activity:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/2give/#!extraction

The SNF "air drop" will continue for a while longer.  Ideally I'd like to see us cross the 80% mark before ending it.

In mean time, we continue to monitor the liquidity at Bittrex and have continued to opportunistically acquire 2GIVE and move it to our primary donation address for staking.

Strength in Numbers Foundation will continue to use its holdings for donations as well as strategic acquisitions of other coinbases.

The next release of the wallet is nearing completion!  This version will bring a new SQL*Lite database engine to the wallet as well as expanded Paper Wallet (Gift*Card) support as well as new fields in the Contact page for email and web address)

The BIG addition will be the in-wallet directory of approved charitable causes, voted on by YOU our stakeholders!

Just have the application open on your desktop, the network will send out 2Give to random nodes online & each user sending will airdrop to anyone else on the network (might be calculated to node online longest or random?). Actually something quite new to past testings, but could be kind of like the master node name used in others coins?

The 2GIVE "air drop" is totally different than any other one to date!

Our "seed nodes" (the nodes that the wallet is configured to find when it first starts up) -- are "bouncing" 100K blocks of coins around themselves every 20 minutes, which "drops" 1K coins (1% TXFEE) onto the network.  The first wallet to mine the block wins the round.  We have been moving the times around so that future staking will hopefully happen at regular intervals throughout any hour of the day to create an average blocktime close to at least 5 minutes.

In the wallet you turn on "Compete for block rewards (POW)" or from the commandline you enable

setgenerate true

Your wallet will then have a chance to collect the drop, or as WolfLee84 pointed out ANYTIME someone SENDS coins on our network, SOMEONE will earn the 1% TXFEE.

After that, you earn coins by staking them (POS) -- every 30 days your wallet has the right to claim 5% per annum interest for helping secure the network.

I really should get an infographic made up and update the main thread here :-)

Actually would be the first client tested to secure the network with giving the 1% network fee to anyone online (others have tried similar test, not many have Given to the community), have watched a few tests of launches where the distribution was over the network & then they open sourced the github (over a year ago, Miraclecoin I think it was & a random node distribution or airdrop as they say). That's just the most recent one to remember, but have seen many launches of these chains & do understand which ones will last if secured right. When you can see a machine or mechanism, power it on & test it's usability. That would be just what one has seen over the many years of testing hardware & software, great to have the big powerful machines. Just not great to have to replace or repair said structures, the world would always take old concepts & replace them with smaller designs (big & loud = fun, but when you can git the same = out of nano sized)   Wink

//not the best @ info graphic or videos (have tried) type work (find someone to volunteer), but am {git} great @ reading / editing BBcode for the ANN / OP (coder keys?)  Cool

Be sure to check out the latest post on our FB page!

We now have SIGNIFICANTLY updated what was the "Donate" page to "Share"

We will now include a list of approved causes, ultimately voted on by YOU the stakeholders to be included in the wallet as officially sanctioned charitable giving organizations and individuals!

We are rapidly becoming the "GoFundMe" of crypto <3

Another week and we should be set.

THEN the REALLY BIG RELEASE!  Release Candidate 7 (RC7) looks to include an "in-wallet exchange" system like never before!

We're going to leverage API keys from your Bittrex accounts combined with a BitPay address to make a "one-button cash" option to send / exchange your 2GIVE into Bitcoins and send them on to your bank account.

REMOVING ALL THE FRICTION FROM CRYPTO

Imagine my supprise to learn this.

Freely duplicated on any linux daemon.

Why when i request say a new deposit address via RPC why does it then PRINT IN THE CONSOLE AND RELATED Log the address and its private key??

Delisting from Altex is highly likely unfortunately.

It's a debug -- your logfiles are your business and unless you password protect your wallet you can "dumpprivkey" on ANY wallet

These are "Release Candidates" in the official and final 2.0 release we'll disable most of the debug.

I'm not aware of it being listed on Altex -- do you have a link?

FYI, 2GIVE Release Candidate 6 (RC6) is almost done — it will include an in-wallet directory of charitable giving campaigns, including Sean’s Outpost!

We’re also going to be introducing a new “Proof of Giving” model in a subsequent release that will allow 2GIVE stakeholders the ability to automatically donate their interest through POS mining, and split it out among multiple charities

The next release, RC7 is planned to include in-wallet exchange and “cash out” using API keys with Bittrex and BitPay — which will allow ANYONE to accept 2GIVE and then VERY EASILY convert it into USD (or other currencies supported by BitPay)

By using API keys we avoid being classified as a “money transmitter” and are exempt from needing a “BitLicense” in New York, since its all client side control.

This all part of my “master plan” to remove as much friction from crypto as possible to make it easier for non technical people to join our ecosphere!

And of course Strength in Numbers Foundation is making all of these improvements open source for others to replicate

I have seen some excuses over the years for many things.

Do you even understand the security implication here???

Our wallets remain locked and encrypted unless there being activly used.

So what good is that protection WHEN YOUR COIN stores private keys in plain text??

Listen N00B

I already told you:

1. Your log files are your business.  Delete them if they bother you
2. This is "pre-release" software -- it's DEBUG code to make sure things are working

If you bothered making a GIFT card (paper wallets) you'll see it requires the private key.

My suggestion is either take a deep breath and relax, or go troll somewhere else?

I have seen some excuses over the years for many things.

Do you even understand the security implication here???

Our wallets remain locked and encrypted unless there being activly used.

So what good is that protection WHEN YOUR COIN stores private keys in plain text??

Just updated in the WhitePaper

http://bit.ly/2GiveCoin

Proof of Giving (PoG)

We are introducing a new variant on top of the Proof of Stake system that will allow any stakeholder the ability to designate a percent of their interest earned to be automatically donated to an approved charitable or social giving cause.

The desktop wallet software as of Release Candidate 6 (RC6) includes an in-wallet database of approved “campaigns” by organizations such as Sean’s Outpost and Leech Lake Legacy.  This list will be driven by our stakeholder nominations and voting via website in the future and individuals can petition as well such that 2GIVE could become a GoFundMe like system.

The basic concept would allow a stakeholder the ability to select a mixture of campaigns to support and then whenever their wallet staked its interest it would automatically bundle in the send transactions to the causes as part of the Proof of Stake, thus becoming a Proof of Giving block added to the chain.  Since the POS block is permitted there would be no additional TXFEE added for the sends, making it essentially a free to support model on top of the 2GIVE network.
