Thanks for your thoughtful comments and analysis of 2GIVE.

One of the other things we're particularly proud to have is our "automatic garbage collection" that when a send is performed the wallet will actually try and grab 20% more coins than necessary to complete the send instead of doing a "best fit" that all the other wallets use.

This has the effect of "defragmenting" the chain over time as smaller unspent outputs are bundled up in the "change" transaction.

-dvd

I too am one of those core wallet users that like to burn whole unspent outputs however after encountering 1% of the remaining balance as a Charity Fee using coin control I opted to let the wallet decide and was intrigued to see how the wallet gathers unspent outputs from the smallest amounts while rolling-up change towards the main address and of course glad to see the flat 1% against just the spent amount. So for mainstream users I agree coin-control is a non-starter but having a view of coins in the wallet I find useful.

The wallet does seem to have some bugs though and coredumps every now and then. I will work on this and post a stable version when it is ready

ok, the wallet does not seem to have very good error handling for forks. The default seed node (DNSSeed) that the linux client chooses is running off of a fork it seems. this fork has somewhere in the region of 60k-70k blocks. the real chain has about 135k blocks at the moment.

When the client first connects it does so to the wrong fork. As soon as it then picks up one of the nodes on the correct fork, it downloads a block and does a coredump because of bad DB integrity I think. Either way, a workaround is to run the linux client daemon with the -seednode switch and to set the max number of connections to 1. This way you can specify a seednode from the correct chain and force it to download all the blocks from the correct chain.

I will have to fiddle on the code and see if some better error handling can be stuck in to deal with this situation. A coredump is no way to deal with a forked chain!

At least for now, people can run the linux daemon or qt wallet if they want to.

POW is our "Compete for block rewards" option in the wallet.  The only thing it can "mine" for is the 1% TXFEE included in SEND transactions.

Looking at the block explorer the network is now up to nearly 99% POS transactions.

Strength in Numbers Foundation (SNF) is planning another "air drop" soon as it continues to move holdings to the "trust" wallet Give2SNF*

Just noticed that Bittrex is stating that BTC:2GIVE is scheduled to be removed on 04/19

We did not receive any notification from the exchange and I had personally reached out to staff there for an update on why

We have been head down on working on the mobile wallet.

I always interact and respond when someone posts...like you did just now :-)

I don't post fake news and I never speculate on price.

We have a project in the works related to student loan refinancing but have not finalized the terms yet.

POW is only invoked when there is something to POW about -- specifically when there is a SEND_TX on the network.

2GIVE does not allow empty blocks -- only blocks with value.

If someone sends 2GIVE then your wallet will compete randomly for the block reward of 1% of the value transmitted

2GIVE is already listed on LiteBit and Freiexchange.

The reality is that we do not control the exchanges.  We hope that Bittrex will explain why they are removing it and give us an opportunity to reply.  All exchanges are "For Profit" and the Strength in Numbers Foundation is "For Charity" so those reasons do not always match up.

My suggestion is to find a charity and make a hopefully tax-advantaged donation to it.

One other suggestion we are exploring is doing another coin-conversion to something like an Ethereum ERC-20 token so that it would be easier to integrate on more exchanges.

We will host a voting event once we have a clearer picture of the situation.

A mobile wallet on Google Play would be great or would it just be for Iphone users?

Edit:  Also a Linux Wallet would help any Linux users, been waiting on the main website to show a Linux build for a while now Wink

Will 2GIVE be removed from bittrex due to low volume? And what procedure to apply for the registration of a charity to be benefited by 2GIVE? When trying the website where it informs the registration instructions it seems that it is unavailable.
