We're working on a design to print some high quality paper wallets on card stock -- foil embossed -- and give them away to waitstaff everywhere!

The cards will have a URL where they can "bank" them -- but also a map to an ATM where they can redeem them...

It gets even better...

Because we'll make the cards "collectible" and exchangeable at real world businesses!

Take a "spent" card and use it to "pay" for a yoga class -- and we'll STILL compensate the yoga studio for redeeming the physical card

How freaking brilliant is that???

We have asked Bittrex to re-enable the trading of GIVE 1.0 so that users can acquire and withdraw their coins in support of the move to GIVE 2.0

As of this moment Bittrex appears to have completely disabled it.  We have email in asking for status update.

A the coin is moving to a more pure POS based distribution whatever STAKE you have will set your interest.

We have confirmed with Richie @ Bittrex that GIVE 1.0 will be re-enabled.  We have revealed our plans for 2Give and will be doing some spotlight advertising with them in the coming weeks once the migration is complete.

I am... amused.

I took a quick look to see what new coins were listed on Bittrex and saw Givecoin there.  "Hey!" I thought, "There's that charity coin I saw on the release calendar.  Great!"  I popped in and saw no bids, and no sales.  "Neat!  I can be the first buyer.  What a singular honor."  Wink  I quickly clicked, clicked, rushing to get in first, and then the page froze up during re-loading.  Hmmm.... Checked the front page... "Disabled".  "Wow", I thought "Coins sure do die fast these days."  Cheesy  Then I came here to get a bit of background and to see what was up.

I'm happy to see that you've got a real organization that does more than talk, have people with skills and plans you're going ahead with.  Then I had an idea.  I'm an artist, photographer, and I try to donate pictures for sale when I can to charitable auctions.  The problem is that I can't exactly crank out a ton of prints, get them framed, and then toss them all over the place.  I'm on disability myself, living comfortably, but you get my drift.  However... what if you had a pool of pictures that were freely available to organizations for purposes of printing, selling, auctioning etc etc?  I know a lot of artists donate work to a lot of causes, this would have the effect of greatly magnifying our singular contributions.  I would no longer be giving one picture to one cause, there would be the possibility of it being used again and again.

I've had my work up at this Dogecoin site for a while now but if you know that community you know they're like the Anonymous of cryptocurrency.  Not exactly organized or focused, but you gotta love em.  You've got a core of more driven tech-savvy people who I think would be more suitable to this purpose.  In any case, have a think and have a look.  Here's a few places you can see my work.

And as for that Givecoin purchase... it went through.  A whopping 0.00165083 Bitcoins worth which is... about 65 cents today.  Hoorah!  Hey, it was all I had, and that's what matters.

They are just in the process of getting it turned back up.  I'd check back in later.

The only updates to the code are the seed nodes and the changes to get it to compile on Mac OS X

All the 2Give work is still in flux at the moment.

I've asked Bittrex to re-enable the trading so that people can decide to either buy or sell to set their stake in 2Give when we do the move to POS.

I hope that this demonstrates our commitment to the coinbase and the community!  So far we have done exactly what we said we were going to do.

Quick question to the community?

Is there any interest in asking Bittrex to offer GIVE/LTC pairs ?

LTC looks pretty thinly traded there at the moment -- just want to make it as easy as possible for people to capture the best value for their interest in GIVE.

I don't think there is, especially since it's so easy just to do LTC->BTC->GIVE.

It's a good point -- though you lose a little in TX fee's.

Maybe it's a better option for another exchange?

Feel free to setup an account on https://doabitofgood.com and upload some photo's!  You are more than welcome to water mark them.

We need content for each of the 12 charitable giving categories and we would love to explore having your albums available for non-profits to leverage.

The system totally allows any campaign to select more than one album and the images are mixed together.

Cheers!

LOL -- I had asked them to not let their automated sweep tag us so early -- especially since it has only be alive again for less than a week.

BUT fundamentally folks -- we need people either buying or selling coins to keep it listed -- there is nothing we can do to make that happen -- so unless people EXPAND our economy by sending coins to their friends or favorite causes we will not have much volume.

WE CAN NOT LET THIS COIN BE HOARDED
