Thanks for the vote of support -- I just reported the comment as abusive and it was taken down.

I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt -- that whole "assuming good intentions" thing you know?

I try to be especially generous with non-native english speakers since its hard enough with text/messages/emails to try and figure out someone's INTENT without having the language translation thing be an issue.

In any event, I should be getting an update on "Strength in Numbers Foundation's" 501.3c (US NON-PROFIT STATUS) application this week.

We are still on target to begin the bulk of the heavy code work starting November 1 when our additional developer from the Cat Coin team "dahozer" (Troy B) wraps up his "day job" working on his family farm -- you'll see here that his experience is going to be incredibly valuable!

https://bitbucket.org/dahozer

It's also really fortunate that he doesn't live far from our offices so there will be plenty of opportunity to collaborate in person to get things hopefully right the first time!

Thanks for staying engaged with Givecoin and for being patient while we finalize 2Give.

I hope you all have a favorite charity in mind that you can introduce to our community!

Proof of Stake coins have generally fared better in long term value that pure proof of work coins.  When we make the switch the ability to generate will be based on holdings.

https://doabitofgood.com currently has the largest stake, but that stake was acquired through open market buy transactions, not self-mining as some have suggested.

Why are you here, trolling for no reason? Do what you recommend yourself and forget about this coin! David has delivered all of his promises so far, there's no reason not to trust him.

I have one question for you David, is that you making that insane wall at 44 satoshi? I just don't get what's the point of you doing that...

Nice coin.

I haven't seen many coins pull off a POS switch. Lots of them claim its going down but few deliver. I hope these peeps can pull it off.

I love to give. Many people in the world love to give. This coin is an amazing idea. Crypto is just getting started.

I opened the Givecoin Mac wallet today and it seems hung on catching up to block height 161315, staying there for hours... Is there anything wrong? Shocked

Edit:
Suddenly it got passed it and now it is ok.

We're modeling our switch on CleanWaterCoin -- they pulled it off and we have experience building up their wallet on Mac OS X so I'm optimistic we will be able to make it work for 2Give

That seller is going to be sad in 5 years. Crypto is the future. I'm definitely in BUY mode.

It looks like CCN CannaCoin is also trying to go to ReddCoins PoSV. If you have any problems during the switch, I'm sure they will help you if they can. They're into collaborating and helping others.

That's good intel!  Thanks for the heads up!

One of the things that I'm considering in my IDCoins project is an 80/20 POS/POW system that would put more coins into the economy via TXFEE's -- that would encourage POW mining.

Might be interesting to do with Givecoins as well...

Gotta have a coin that is transacting and not being hoarded for the sole benefit of miners and investors IMHO

The whitepaper is visible (while I'm working on it) at:

http://bit.ly/idcoins

That's an interesting idea to allow mining for txfees.  I've talked to a few people about that and we've discussed it internally a bit.  We are always open to working together with other developers to achieve common goals and learn from each other.

Here's the CCN-REDD github we are working on:  https://github.com/Cannacoin-Project/ccn-redd
