First found block by best-pool.com is block 989.
The pool was open for pre registrations several days before start of the coin.
Statistic is open and everyone can check.
The problem is that the difficulty of the first blocks was extremely low.
BUT THIS IS NOT PREMINE!!!!
Only first 988 blocks are not public!
But we need time to setup the pool, someone may be able to start solo mining before us....

We are not part of the DEV team!!!!!

I should be sleeping, but I will respond: Did you happen to see the post in this very thread where the guy who posted that accusation apologized? Edit: Withdrawn. Lack of sleep caused me to mix up two different users.  The point still stands. If you're legitimately concerned, continue reading.  If you're trolling, continue trolling, but at least try to be amusing/comical about it. -- The best thing I can say is if you're skeptical, stick around and wait.

With that, I have to rest.  Day job, etc.

LOOOOL.... now the Big whales and day traders noticed a Coin they were not on from the beginning, so the try to scam us all.
This is freaking funny to see how desperate they are.
By the way is there a way to get rid of those Daytraders (Scammers)?

Part of the big rush now is that altcoinherald.com did put in the wrong date on coin release, but altcoincalendar.info got it right ;-), so people doing their double cross check did win this launch !

Until Robbert wakes, we can't merge into the official github -- only he has access to that repo.  You can clone from https://github.com/TrollByFire/LitecoinDark-Unofficial.git -- this release is tagged litecoindark-1.0.1

Apologies for the mixup.  We'll get it resolved ASAP.

Thanks, I compiled that revision, but for some reason I'm still not able to sync to the network. I have all node IPs in this thread in my conf, and am certainly no stranger to running coin daemons for a pool server. Every node the daemon tries to connect to results in "connect() failed after select(): Connection refused" in the debug log Sad

Hoping to join the network tomorrow when there's a working linux daemon!

Odd, I have a working linux compile running on 24.199.222.230.  Try adding this node to see if it helps.  I'll look into it further.  Can you provide a pastebin of the last 200 lines or so of your debug.log?

I had a similar problem.  Changing the magic number back to the original version fixed it for now.  To fix it, edit main.cpp, line 3058 from this:
unsigned char pchMessageStart[4] = { 0xd8, 0xe6, 0xa9, 0xc0 }; // Litecoin: increase each by adding 2 to bitcoin's value.
to this:
unsigned char pchMessageStart[4] = { 0xfb, 0xc0, 0xb6, 0xdb }; // Litecoin: increase each by adding 2 to bitcoin's value.

Again, you're on the wrong branch.  from the tag litecoindark-1.0.1 https://github.com/TrollByFire/LitecoinDark-Unofficial/blob/litecoindark-1.0.1/src/main.cpp note that this was already in this release.

Apologies if I sound sound anything other than helpful.  After 2.5 very long days, I'm still unable to sleep.

I see great similarities between BC and LTCD.
Similar maximum volumes.
Maybe this will lead to a similar price of the coin.

Because I want all of the code revisions to be reviewed by Robbert before inclusion into the official repository.  This way he is the only person with access to the official repository.  My "fork" started off as unofficial, and I have since been invited to join the team.  All of this can be verified with Robbert.

Also, I needed to make these changes go live quickly so that I could finally get some sleep (that didn't work out so well) and it was published while he was still asleep for the night.  He is from Netherlands, I am located in NC, USA (GMT-5) so timezones tend to get in our way slightly.

its good you want him to make revision but since you posted link from the unofficial github i will suppose that he did revision so this can go in the official, right?
Also you can make contributions to the official so he can review them and then choose if he will accept or not

Yeah, just the fact that someone has enough coins to put up a 2,000,000 coin wall means I have to stay away from this one.  Looked interesting otherwise.

I already have been.  He has already been merging my pull requests.  I still have to sort out master before I send another pull request.  If it makes matters easier, I can do a PoD as well and request access to the official repo, but I'm incredibly overworked right now.  I'll discuss it with him this afternoon.
