No buying interest and no sell pressure too. Strange for such a decently developed coin !!

In any case - cryptogiveaways.org is a small joint project between myself and batesresearch. I am working for nothing.
[..]
you may also notice that the site will be 100% ad-free.
Those were all the warning signs. I was unable to understand the business model behind this project. That's what raised my suspicions. Do all this work, maintain all this work, pay for server space, all for "nothing". No ads, no way or being compensated. So it appeared to be the only way for this to be profitable, was a skimming scam. No evil intended. It's just a project. So was ltcgear Good luck with your project. In future, to be less suspicious though, do put up ads or some other cross promotion so it makes more sense for someone trying to understand your motives. By the way, calling a project sounds like a "temporary venture". What happens with all the remaining coins when you decide to shut down the project?

did not expect so much backlash about a simple faucet. But then again, this is what crypto has become, everyone has to be careful and suspicious. The place where the craziest conspiracies you can think of, actually come true.... bitcointalk

While I think that faucet is fine (i.e i think its an honest project), its a good thing to see people in here strongly standing up against possible scams and frauding.

Once we all learn to think with our brains, and stop waiting for the Gov't to come save us all the time... Crypto will start skyrocketing after people learn logic, and basic lessons in life. Right now most people are just learning what a decentralized and non-regulated economy is.. they have to stop getting themselves caught in scammers nets and reeling them in like fish. (these comments have nothing to do with the faucet), but it's a decent debate about the state of crypto.

They're hoping it will catch on. If you think you could help, buy a good bunch, and then help promote. Opal needs promotion. We appear to be good in the dev and tech department. I wish there was some youtubes out explaining how to use any of this stuff. Right now, I still run a headless linux Opal wallet. I have no idea how to use any of the features they've built and are building. I learn by screenshots and video.

+1 %100 agree. The dev team needs to be a bit more active and promote the coin a bit.

Does that mean you want to see more pretty graphics from Voidlord posted, or something more significant?

By the way, calling a project sounds like a "temporary venture". What happens with all the remaining coins when you decide to shut down the project? Warning signs - lol. We are both in full-time employment, myself operating 5 separate UK Ltd businesses nothing related to crypto, crypto-currencies are a hobby but over the next few years I will aim to start crypto-based companies to get crypto more into the public domain. One of the businesses I own (not UK Ltd) Is a web-hosting company and fully paid hardware and leases for the next 5 years so no need to pay for server space. I even offer crypto charities free hosting space how do I get compensated for that - I don't I do it for the good of the charities to help them. If we ever for unforeseen reasons decide to shut-down the 'venture' all remaining coins will be donated back to the respective communities.

Ok so here is the new structure we need to implement. I was brainstorming so read my other posts and see how I got to this conclusion. Opal is perfect for this implementation. Opal will be Cloud backup and Wallet to Wallet file transfer. Cloud is perfect to backup all of VoidLords glorious graphics encrypted and secure. So here is the idea... The community can solidify these ideas and hone them into a perfectly polished Opal stone! PoS will go to pay for Cloud Storage!!! This was the epiphany moment and I may link some of the ideas I had before to make this work. This is opposite thinking but is perfect for Opal though if Opal grants a Perpetual Automated Service and that service can now be Cloud hosted indefinitely through PoS. Lets make the Service the demand in the Cloud. There is a disparity though since people go offline and if no one is paid to PoS there may be no protection unless people are using Opal Drive. So we may need to split the PoS in half, pay staking half and sell the other half for cloud service, we could use the Minimum amount of Coin idea of 1000 Opal for Cloud Usage to stake and crank up confirms to release. Then the Wallet to Wallet transfer could be free still but also require staking of some amount of coin. Well any combination of ideas can work here but the main goal is to pay for the Cloud Storage automatically. So other inventive ideas may come forward once we start delving into how to make it work better. There would be some trust of the selling involved unless there are creative ways we will uncover later. The selling of PoS to pay for Cloud storage would make it so that people who buy that coin pay at the demand rate too so it will always meet the needs of people but the catch is the space, maybe that will only be limited by the amount of coin you can stake? Lets look into that idea too! If you use the Drive you must Stake the amount of coin you use vs the amount of space you use. Then deleting your content grants you your Coin Back! So staking you can make money but you also pay your fees as you stake! I really think this will work now...

I agree with you. SuperNET is starting soon and this is a great chance to take the publicity and hype to promote the coin much more. +1 %100 agree. The dev team needs to be a bit more active and promote the coin a bit.

I 100% agree, minus one part. http://whit.opal-coin.com/this-is-your-coin/the dev team is here to dev, the community has to want to promote the coin, because i'm honestly too busy to spend a lot of time. Look at shadow coin, or vericoin or coins with massive community support. That could be opal, the community just has to want the change. #opalisOURcoin
