Checking on my favourite coin ...  Huh

17% of 15 million makes 2,55 million... gave 65% back so holds 35% which makes 892.500 Opal.... which is roughly 5,95% (lets say 6%) of total supply. Dont know how to feel about that deal made with the devil though... reasonable prices?.. whats reasonable?

Meantime we get free publicity/exposure which is great..  Roll Eyes

I still stand behind OPAL and their team all the way but if the Hacker is on here and is feeling generous about the coins he so graciously has in his possession, I would gladly ask that he look into his heart and donate a tenth of what I lost which was 70038 OPAL to this addy : oKQ2ts1uaN5kH93dWKWSWwGRULWQqXyemY Smiley I have the utmost respect for OPAL and their team and whatever agreement they worked out to handle this mess but I wouldn't mind a little OPAL in my sack to open up for Christmas day!! Cheesy Cheers and love for everyone!!

Hold on. You have not got anything back yet? I thought the hacker returned 65% of the coins and you were supposed to get like 10% of your lost coins back or something? Isn't that true? As per below the funds were sent back so you should have gotten at least some amount of your coins back by now. Or are the devs still figuring out who and how to return coins to?

Now now everyone lets get along and be thankful that the OPALTeam is working on getting us even a percent of what we lost back! I'll take that any day instead of being completely out all my coins Smiley Thanks so much again OPAL and your crew for working so hard and diligently to keep the community strong and growing. I love that about you guys and like I said if and when the time comes for a possible recoup of some of my losses I will gladly take them at the following addy :  oKQ2ts1uaN5kH93dWKWSWwGRULWQqXyemY Cheesy Keep up the amazing work everyone and stay strong! What other coins besides opal are good investments that some of you guys are investing in that belong to this super Net?  What would be your top picks?  NXT?  SUPERNET itself?  I current have 158000 opal that is still stuck in deposit mode in cryptsy for the last two days.   I am thinking of either buying more opal or investing in another coin that helps opal.   Ideas?

I would say Opal too, and i explain why:

buy but not directly a lot: You have already a large amount of Opal (i.e: 1%)
-just enough and periodically, to buy the cheap coins that weak hands could sell.
-to support the market and the past opal you bought.
-because Opal stinks the good opportunity (Youth, Features, Devs, PR, Design)

if we look the 10 most closest coins (supply/price, i add Marketcap)

(DRK)     Darkcoin:   22,000,000 coins.  price: 0,006099 BTC.  Marketcap: $ 9,748,635
(FC2)     Fuelcoin:  100,000,000 coins.  price: 0.000185 BTC.  Marketcap: $ 5,952,347
(YBC)     YBcoin:    200,000,000 coins.  price: 0,001270 BTC.  Marketcap: $ 2,643,960
(XMR)    Monero:     18,400,000 coins.  price: 0,000982 BTC.  Marketcap: $ 1,676,062
(BC)      Blackcoin: 100,000,000 coins.  price: 0.000108 BTC.  Marketcap: $ 1,483,546
(SJCX)   Storjcoin: 500,000,000 coins.  price: 0,000106 BTC.  Marketcap: $ 1,413,812
(IXC)     Ixcoin    :   21,000,000 coins.  price: 0,000090 BTC.  Marketcap  $   605,127
(SDC)    Shadow  :    6,400,000 coins.  price: 0,000230 BTC.  Marketcap: $   480,183
(MONA) Monacoin: 105,000,000 coins.  price: 0,000094 BTC.  Marketcap: $   458,256
(VIA)    Viacoin :     92,000,000 coins. price:  0,000096 BTC.  Marketcap: $   395,445

for an average of:  116,480,000 coins. price:0,000926  BTC.  Marketcap:  $ 2,485,737

(OPA) Opal (new) :  15,000,000 coins. price: 0,000026 BTC.   Marketcap   $  127,250

it is just a crude view but Opal can easily aim 0,0002.
which is 7,6 times the actual price.

....
After all, if the malware is crypted you cannot detect anything using antivirus, the real problem is why bitcointalk allow user to make a Yahoo.com hyperlink able to redirect on google.com ? ....

Stonerstanley, I just asked the question to Bitcointalk admin here :

I added my 2 cents to that conversation.
->

The biggest issue this brings up is adoption.. The Fraud and Theft protection that banks and credits company's provide is the main advantage they have over crypto and it is a big advantage. Every scam and theft hurt cryptocurrency adoption. If we ever plan to make Bitcoin or any coin for that matter widely accept, protection o some type need to be considered. Simply saying "Well they should know better." is not an acceptable response to theft.

If cryptocurrencies are going to be a globally accepted currency, they need to be usable and trusted, by those who may not know anything about computers other then checking their email.

...and it is a very heavy 2 cents, you hit the full center Truther.

We are still in the far-west part of the cryptos history,

-a cold wallet: an usb flash drive, plus a in/out USB hot wallet (the Hardware part)
-a dedicated preset portable browser with preset plug-in like Noscript, a sandbox... (the software part).
-an insurance included plus a Hotline (the service part)
