Block at last! Waiting for confirm.

https://blockchain.info/block/000000000000000013fe7dae3fba84a72cf8d81fc20b9dbf516b9fa0e6845746

Found by pingster! Which means if it's confirmed, he gets the first AVA4!

EDIT: Confirmed! We have a winner.
No confirm required - orphans win also Smiley
But yes it was confirmed anyway. As was the 2nd block.

Wow!! I just woke up and checked pool stats and was happy to see we had found a couple of blocks.
Then checked the blocks and see it was me (pingster) and I won a new miner! Grin Grin Grin
Thank You Thank you Thank you. I have been with this pool since the early days and it's the best run pool.
I can't wait to point the new AVA4 at CKPOOL.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Congrazt!!!  Grin  If you need help to setup Avalon 4 let me know!

██     Please support sidehack with his new miner project Send to :

I am not sure why the hash rate is doing those really big spikes on my westhash rentals.  but anyone that is renting please look at your stats.

I have now dropped down to a number under the 50th limit.

here is a better view of the spikes.  I wonder if the spikes occur in time with restarts

Firstly, I restarted ckdb (not ckpool) 15 minutes ago, if anyone noticed.
It completed the restart, reload and sync in under 2.5 minutes - so that's good
(I've made 2 sizeable changes that have directly sped that up - one a few days ago, the other yesterday)

ALSO - NO POOL RESTARTS - THE WEB SITE SAYS WHEN THE LAST ONE WAS Tongue

As for the hash rate here, the worker stats give the 5minute rate which is quite volatile.
The 1hr rate is more stable.
I'll check your shift stats and PM them to you philipma1957 they are quite ok, but seems share luck spiked there for a while.

Also note that it's based on the payout stats, not any spikes and troughs along the way.
I'll add them to the PM also they show it quite stable Smiley

Spoke too soon ...
Even though the last ckpool restart was over 18 hours ago, we just had another one, this would have caused failover but it restarted straight away.

Are there any S4 owners who would share their settings they use here?
Firmware rev, any changes to cgminer startup line, Frequency, vcore?
Understood if you are under warranty and do not want to post about any custom stuff.
If willing, feel free to PM me Smiley

I am stock everything, but I think I can do better, a good amount better.

I understand luck is not predictable, but I would sure love to learn a bit more about showering, styling, dressing, and whatever else lady luck likes when she does arrive Smiley

I'm considering moving my remaining hash here but haven't made up my mind to take the plunge until I do a bit of testing. My little home setup is a bunch of s3's a few SP20s and S4s. I have a to do list ten miles long since I am new. I haven't gotten them all on 240 yet, and I have tools everywhere. At the moment I am looking in a Zeus Thunder X3 scrypt 128 miner 1000w for 28-30 Mhz. I'm going to put the cover on and send it right back on the ebtrain. I'd rather be tweaking the SHA anyway. The heatsinks in these things are worth something even if the miner isn't. They are huge.

Sorry for the OT, but I am enjoying reading through this thread over the past few days. I just read a few each day. You guys have fun, get wound up, roll down, and get right wound up even better. As others have mentioned it seems to be simple common sense as well... The two guys who will know more about what is going on under the hood than anyone else in the hood.
...and more importantly you guys have a presence that feels sincerely honest and gives to the community. I am running a small amount of cgminer compared to most I think, but none the less I am running it, and happy with it. That deserves a jingle in your pocket and some loyalty as well I think.

This seems like the best place to be. I haven't moved an inch since I started. Thank you for the software and the pool.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and Congrats! to pingster! the Avalon winner!!!
Good Luck

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function.
Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

Not an S4 owner, but as I understand it they like a 2048 difficulty, might change the min diff on your s4 worker(s) to that.  The ckpool code should bump them up automatically though.

One landed and coming up to speed nicely on the top right average. The worker hash rate is way behind but as long as the pool sees the rate and I am turning in shares I am set.
I will go try to find the thread where ck discussed lowmem and the other settings for the S4. I can't remember exactly what was said or the context.

Thanks for the pointers all. I am running stock 200/0720 with 10-14-14 firmware set at 2048 Difficulty pool side.
When the warranty is out I'd love to strip her down and put a new coat of thermal grease and slap it up with a 2000w server PSU. I have just the one to push her. I understand it isn't economical at this point, it would be for kicks to see how high / fast.

We are getting there!
