Last few months, I've been so distracted with things other than crypto... and Ethereum's amazing climb of recent that I have not opened my PHS wallet for a while. I was really disappointed when I discovered that Cryptsy is insolvent last month, as they still have a few coins of mine, and they were the only exchange I knew of who carried PHS.

Last night, while I was browsing yobit, I saw the listing fees for the exchange. Half a BTCitcoin is a bit much to come off of personally for my holdings which are currently worth a fraction of that. Yet I wanted to do something and know that PHS should really get the attention it diserves from the "Exclusive" Package. I am willing to contribute to the fees associated with getting the new fork on yobit.

I am also willing to use my registration of philosopherstone.bit or whatever other webdesign/marketing resources I can to help the effort to keep this dream alive. I support Noise23 being the new dev, and having a fundraiser to get his lost property back. I do not believe changing the code to 1% payback of fees to the dev deposit address is a good idea, unless it is optional within the new version of the program. The theft totally sucks, and hopefully is returned.

However, with no functional network, there is nothing. On my old laptop, My pre-Dec 15th 2015 Wallet cannot connect to anyone. Neither can my fresh install of 1.6.6.4 without the philosopherstone.conf file and all the current peers listed on CoinofView. If someone wanted to start out with PHS today, should the wallet not work directly after download and installation? Stuipid Windows 10 hid the .txt extension of the file from me without me realizing it for way too long today.

It is a nice feeling...  Cool to be synching again

Tell cryptopia to delist for now. We can raise 0.3 to have it put back later.

freeze that wallet and get the coins back. No dev is going to have any incentive without coins.

Difficulty fluctuates a lot. Besides, the size of your blocks is also a key parameter. The network appears to be healthy, just take it easy and you'll get your stakes

I'm guessing it might be too late for that now. The thief has probably dumped the coins already.

Instead of raising money to have the coin relisted, maybe the community should donate some PHS to the dev.

I've already suggested this and I still think this is the way to go.

@noise23, give us a PHS address and I will send you 5k PHS to set the example.

How's that for a start?

All stolen coins currently still sitting in the thief's wallet staking http://explorer.phstones.com/address/9VGJynR4uc3787QWdGMS9HUD9YMmmDJgoC

At the moment I'm not accepting any donations, sorry.
It's not about money, i'm just getting sick from the thought that with my work i will be helping that thief to dump stolen coins at the good price. Please understand.
Thank you.

I'm staking too. It's a smooth operation. kewl. Smiley

sidenote: is there another method make sure bootstrap file is good, to let wallet check if the file is right, or is that automatically done when you restart wallet with the downloaded bootstrap in place? (The file was too big for virustotal to check for malicious content)

No worries , bootstrap.dat is not an executable file, so it is not even able to infect a system with a virus.    Smiley
But if it makes you feel safer, just scan it with your local antivirus or download malwarebytes and scan it.

why not preemptively dump?

true believers could dump hard, raise BTC
invest BTC in explorer, nodes, and website up keep for +2 years (covered)

then you have plenty of time to let the market take care of the thief
and fine tune the intent of the PHS project in the meantime

once recovered back to the races

---
the other option is hardfork the thief out, but risk business (maybe a delisting also).

this coin does not need to be delisted from cryptopia, does not need a rollback just for one person, and only needs someone who can host a dns seed service, a update to the wallet, and that's it

See that recovery agreement posted? Think they are getting trolled? b/c two exchanges would be nice. Some of my PHS have been stuck there since they first started having problems. It is probably not too far a stretch of the imagination to determine that there are tons of other ppl who just lost out too... unless crapsy ungoxxes itself.

Too bad PHS does not stake while it is in a paper wallet... or am I misunderstanding how that works?
If we are going to fork the coin, let's improve it. What are the average requirements for the dedication of a competent developer who is responsible?  How much of a bounty are we looking at offering/raising?

Even if we are not going to officially fork the coin as a community, it would be nice to have a dev who is available in case of an urgent problem, and for overall communtiy support. If someone came to this page tomorrow and wanted to create an online marketplace which exclusively accepts PHS, who would he talk to? This kind of potential could increase the value of PHS and benefit everyone, but instead, we are all adrift.

Who here can pull together and add something to this tech? I looked at my holding compared to the ransom and realized that perhaps I have nothing at stake compared to some people who are involved with this network. I cannot financially support this coin. It was fun pretending to be a whale with a few dollars for a few days, but seriously... I can offer regular marketing webdesgin stuff, even print layout, and marketing efforts... what are you willing to contribute?

Last thing any of us wants is for this coin to take a dirt nap.
