I think the big shipping day means mini rig,not single, because I just received an email from them today, and said they are still waiting the parts for singles from China
A great number of singles will be shipped tomorrow. Regards, BF Labs Inc. If you ship more than 130, I might get mine!! This makes me happy though that the casings came in so the singles can start shipping again

im pretty sure if you shipped them without the case everyone would be happy... and when u get the cases, ship them out later...
makes sense to me, especially with miners already running gpu rigs without cases, open rigs...

This would most likely create liability problems with warranties and added shipping costs.

anybody got shipping notice email today?
Since it seems they are a small operation, I'd expect any, if any, shipping notices to be sent out literally after they are ALL shipped. So, probably at close of business...or even after hours. If the operations was larger and they had the staff to track it real time, I guess they could send out notices concurrnet to actual shipping events. Just my guesses on it.

I didn't hear of anyone getting confirmations of shipments sent out later in the day/early evening.

They pop in and update when they want, being as vague as they want, ignoring as many questions as they want. Meanwhile, the fan club continues to make excuses for them and berate those that haven't drank the koolaid.

I bet they don't ship in any reasonable quantity until 2013. I'm watching and waiting for OpenASIC - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=76351.0 - with it being opensource hardware its more likely to be cheaper and therefore more widely available and used. Any change in the bitcoin protocol would make a current designed ASIC redundant. So with opensource hardware to go with opensource software its more likely to be greater adopted meaning less chance of a change to the bitcoin protocol being applied wiping it out.

I can't wait for the 15th. We'll see where the lines are drawn on Bets Of Bitcoin as to what people think on their ability to meet hashrate, power and delivery targets.

I agree on this possibility, and am watching it closely. Knowing the slow to ship history of BFL, if their pricing seems overly expensive, it would seem tempting to wait & see what the openware option provides.

And then the U.S. Government buys all the SC Chips and does a 51% attack, bringing Bitcoin to it's knees.
