Does bitcoinity get a special feed from mtgox or is it just the same as any of us could obtain?

btccharts.com appear to stay online when there's an outage like this as well.

I'm just asking because I have an idea for something different but in a similar vein.

Bitcoinity is being weird for me. It always shows the correct amount, but after a while it randomly shows $0 and won't ever get out of this dumb mode no matter how long I wait, until I refresh the page again and then the process repeats.

You sure that is an error? Tongue

I've been wondering about this too. My guess is that either they have multiple redundant connections set up at once, and refresh the ones that go down, or Mt. Gox gives them a special server address/socket to connect to that is less likely to go down.

You THINK they would have say.... 5 hardcore connections that go out to 5 servers that broadcast feeds out to everyone. this seems to be able to scale infinitely

Wall is melting.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they keep laughing, then they start choking on their laughter, and then they go and catch their breath. Then they start laughing even more.

someone is trying very hard indeed to keep the price under $190, using a bot to keep pushing it back down, similar to the desperate attempts to hold us under 100.

I noticed a stairway before the wall, I don't know if it's the same order.

Bids are still lower now than with the wall.

Currently the greatest $ volume day yet.
Closing UTC day volume is around $21M USD, or considering MtGox takes 0.3-0.6% from each side of the trade, somewhere between $120K-$240K of revenue in 24 hrs. Still just 0.1% of the $154M/day revenue of JPMorgan Chase.
