Interestingly enough, this 1,000,000 buy in would add more than 10,000,000 to the market cap for BTC if it goes through at current prices.

For the record, I am not expecting an actual 1mil buy. Wouldn't mind being wrong tho.

Coinlab promotion ?

I think $1M at this point might push it to a new all time high.

Expect a sharp selloff, though.

I'm about 75/25 on a sell off not happening.  I think the buys were multiple parties that were waiting to buy in and were only spurred into action and will be more then content to just hold.

Our Euro friends got their funds transferred, massively buying after Cyprus fiasco?

Wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility!

I'm preparing my body for a new ATH.

The only scenario that makes sense to me is that the guy who announced that he is buying, IS actually buying. People buying on a random troll's rumor is a stupid idea even taking into account the "herd". It's possible of course but I think he is actually doing most of the buying. Maybe wants to just hype this up and make people fired up for the push over $50. That will happen for sure if we break the ATH.

NEW RANDOM THEORY: The reddit poster is just a normal guy, but had a brilliant scheme to get all the bidders sitting around waiting at $40 or $30 to actually quit dickin' around and just buy.

+1 My guess is that post is BS, but we'll see. Dumb rather than brilliant though since it could backfire if there is no follow through here.

All the action so far has been in the f-en Mt.Gox. Bitstamp is doing just fine at $47.6 when I last checked.

I think announcing it will spook people from buying because they'd then expect a dump.

This...

...won't end well.  Cheesy

Time's up. We've been trolled? Though he said he's using Coinlab. How long would it take for the numbers to show up?

Still not sure if the troll bought himself, or the sheep. It's a confusing situation. Smiley

He said he would buy 1M$.  There have been 8K BTC bought, that's barely shy of 400K$... Smiley

Obvious troll is obvious.

This reminds me of when "Maria" tried to scam people by saying almost exactly the same thing. Except the price didn't move at all, because everyone knows what a lying scammer "she" is.
