Wild Speculative Theory #1 for the downtrend:

Some of those with loads on the Bid side see that with no new money coming in today (Japanese bank holiday) and with it not costing much to drive the price down, are seeing if the market can be manipulated down enough to make their big buy cheaper than it was looking yesterday.

WST #2:  Bitcoin reached the highest it ever got to yesterday and this is the beginning of the long and terminal plummet to zero Wink

PS. 6.5 hours into the day and volume is already over $1m usd! (we were over $6m yesterday making it 3rd ATH)

Dude, it's a blip. Not a "downtrend".

Agreed.  My use of 'downtrend' ridiculously premature!

Maybe the most accurate descriptor I can think of at the moment for the Bitcoin market (since the 750k buy and subsequent peak yesterday) is that it is running around like a headless chicken  Grin *

Maybe it's time for me to look away and get on with my work for a couple of days instead of obsessing all day!

L8r folks Smiley

*Don't get me wrong, I like these periods of high volume going nowhere because it's Bitcoin's main re-distribution time as some take a profit whilst other jump on board for the first time Smiley

LOL, have a look at the depth. Which is pathetic. The Russians don't even care to press a button for such small BTC that extinguishes all asks...

Perhaps just leaving the money sitting on the exchange out of harms way is good enough for now.

Next week or so will be exciting. Possibly have a new client.

Loaded, did you just buy a Bugatti Veyron with your Bitcoin profits?

I didn't wake up to a $10 dollar increase in price. Clearly, the market is crashing.

Thank goodness! This bubble was getting out of hand.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

Support has filled in surprisingly fast around $60 (more or less). There may be a small weekend dip but I anticipate more growth today before the bears start seeing any progress.

How hard to be satisfied people are! Angry Think about it, 2 days ago would you not all jump for joy if you had known the price will be $60? Now it's just business as usual.

It is funny how that works out.  It's almost instantaneous.  The moment we broke $60 we all began to act as if that was the new mandatory minimum Smiley

I can't really recall a time that people who try and play the arbitrage game have done such a poor job Smiley
