Looks like we're in for another weekend "dip" where if you hadn't check the markets all weekend you wouldn't have noticed anything had changed Cheesy

I would say we're in June 2011 nearly every single week.

Just searched for Bitcoin again on Google Trends and Russia's suddenly pegging 100% interest.  The whole European region is high, no doubt with the Cyprus news.

I'll figure that even if Google's not up to date, we might be having a lot of crazily wealthy Russians buying next week.

Oh Loaded, who art up in Mt. Gox, hallowed be thy name!  Thy dollars rain, thy will be done, on BTCUSD.  Give us this day our daily 10% 30%, and forgive the bears, as we have bought their bitcoins.  And lead us into quadruple digits

To go from a google search to making your first purchase can take more than a couple of days and can take weeks.

Agree.

I cannot give graphs for AML requests right now, but I can tell you that the rate of new requests increased in the same way, with around 1000 new requests on Friday. Three new staff will be starting Monday on the AML.
Just checked the queue, there are 5500 accounts pending verification at this very moment.

If it's not bullish, I don't know what is...

Do you need a verified account to deposit fiat?

My bad, you're apparently right : https://support.mtgox.com/entries/20919111-AML-Account-Statuses
It's only about withdrawals limits, so anybody can deposit/buy without being verified.

EDIT : if an actual MtGox user could give us an answer, that could be great (didn't use them for more than a year)

You won't want to put you BTCs on the exchange if you buy a large amount.

Of course, from the bearish perspective it's people who want to cash out into fiats, but I think it's not so likely, there are not so many holding enough BTCs to absolutely need verification.

You need to be verified to deposit Euro. USD I don't know.

And this :

Please also be advised that all deposits are subject to an ID check by our AML team and this process would take up to 1 business day.  First-timer depositors are requested to upload their copy of the official ID to facilitate this process (you will not have to be fully verified at this point if your deposit is lower than 50,000 USD)
(https://mtgox.com/trade/funding-options, method 'Bank Transfer")

Does this mean that during this "1 business day" MtGox received the money but does make it accessible to you ?
