So the story is that he had planned to speak earlier today, and to announce PayFlash at that time.

Then the event was cancelled because PayFlash hadn't passed QA, and "we will not release software that does not pass QA." As if he couldn't hold a Q&A if PayFlash wasn't live.

Then a few hours later PayFlash is released. It conveniently passed QA very shortly after it gave Josh an excuse to chicken out.

Then PayFlash causes a flash crash of XPY on the paybase site.

And PayFlash turns out just to just be a facade round Gyft. GAW sells XPY (at a bad exchange rate) for BTC.

And obviously GAW has no bots that balance demand between Paybase and other exchanges, or else the PayFlash crash wouldn't have happened.

XPY was $0.09 a minute or two ago on paybase. Now paybase is down (Cloudflare error 520). Awesome QA as always from GAW.

All in all, quite a day for Josh.

Because what's the point in buying an exchange if not to be able to halt trading when it isn't doing what you want?

Got as low as 0.038 BTC at cryptsy... It's going to keep going down as long as Paybase's valuation is in the cents. And since Paybase has 12million coins to sell at Paybase... this is gonna be a massive dump. Wish i had some btc to buy xpy at paybase to dump on cryptsy lol. Someone is making a killing right now. Maybe it's Josh dumping right before everything falls apart...

Market manipulation can't get the price this low. What can get the price this low is a couple of big holders getting nervous and dumping their coins after the CEO ditched another opportunity to answer his critics in person. Then other holders start getting nervous over the falling price and yada yada yada BTC0.038.

What an epic fail. Saw ~100k xpy up for sale at less than $0.2/xpy.

GAW's dumping robots gone crazy. Didn't pass QA Smiley

I haven't logged in here in a few day, perfect timing watching this in real time.

Maybe they got haxxored.

... or this, also a possibility. Questions is - can you withdraw from Paybase? With such a huge arbitrage potential there should be massive volume flowing to Cryptsy.

I thoguht it was a glitch. Does this mean that All those massive bagholders dumped their XPY into giftcards in order to exchange their useless XPY for a more liquid currency? (Gift cards). Thus causing the Paybase valuation to downgrade XPY? But why would that cause a huge dumping of XPY at Cryptsy? Unless people thought the valuation of Paybase was a real time dump, so in turn dumped on Cryptsy because they thought everything was crashing.

PayBase Temp Coming Down

The market is being manipulated. We are tracking it down.

You can't expect him to admit a bug or a hack, can you Smiley

Edit: Paybase is indeed down. I didn't check what the gift cards were selling for during the crash. Could it be that the exchange rate for gift cards didn't quite follow the actual exchange rate? If it's an exploit or "manipulation" it has to be related to that Payflash release. Maybe they should have done some more QA then.

I'll tell you exactly what's going to happen.  All the Gawtards are depositing BTC at Paybase right now to buy some cheap xpy.  Once they get several thousand BTC deposited Paybase goes down and they keep the BTC.  This is the robbery right now.

I'll expand my thought from the previous post.

I didn't check what the gift cards were selling for during the crash. Could it be that the problem was caused the exchange rate for gift cards not following the actual exchange rate. It was lower when I last looked, but maybe XPY started going down due to gift card demand (and GAW/Gyft dumping the XPY income) but the gift card portal was still valuing it at $3.5+, i.e. some API stuck with an old value or something? Just a guess. If it's an exploit or "manipulation" it has to be related to that Payflash gift card release. Maybe they should have done some more QA then.

This has nothing to do with gift cards or Payflash or arbitrage. This has to do with this latest ditch being the last straw, especially if you're some big Paycoin holder who flew to Miami specifically to see the CEO speak/answer questions.

If the CEO wants to have any chance of salvaging this coin, he'll have to schedule a completely unrestricted Q&A immediately following the conclusion of the conference. Otherwise, it's history.

But Cryptsy didn't drop as much as Paybase and is holding now around 0.012. Why would someone dump only on Paybase and drive it so low when they could spread around? I think it's a Paybase issue, and some panic selling or arbitrage on Cryptsy (and maybe other exchanges, didn't check).
