O on another note i got my spondoolies units today... 3.5TH. I've been mining digibyte as i need a base amount for a community project. Is XPY rental still profitable in its final day or should i not bother. I'm pretty sure in the last 6 hours i've done more mining then josh has. I can do a video tour if anyone wants and show my ass crack. My farms a bit boring though 2 x 1500W power supplies and 2 x spondoolies.

You can still get twice the BTC rate on Westhash/Nicehash. So do it.

They are paying out 104% now. They haven't been above 160% in the past 24 hours. So there is virtually no advantage to not just be mining BTC again unless renting your hash to Paycoin miners helps slow difficulty for a bit.

It's paying out at a rate 104% higher than normal BTC mining.  100% != regular BTC rate, that would be 0%--it's still profitable to continue with these ridiculous rentals, but I imagine they will continue to diminish through the weekend.

No, it's 4% more profitable than BTC mining. 200% would be twice as profitable.

Are you saying that Nicehash is paying only 4% more than BTC when it says 104%? That is incorrect. They are paying 104% more than BTC, i.e. roughly double.

If you're saying that their use of percentage is confusing - maybe. It's quite clear though if you look at the other percentages and the actual rate - BTC is ~0.013, NH is ~0.026.

By gum, you're right! I didn't bother to look at the BTC mining comparison. Looks like I pulled my miners off of Westhash too soon.

When does the POW stage end today? Maybe I'll switch everything back over to Westhash. But with my luck, I'll be too late, lol.

Thanks. I donate quite a bit myself to the organization that I am involved with for troubled youth. I thought about setting them up with a BTC donation address, but people these days would figure out a way to cry and whine about it. Then call me a scumbag for stealing money and using kids to do it. Good intentions and honesty don't seem to matter much. I figure it's just easier for me to write them a check every month.

If you want to prove me wrong, and you guys would really care to support them, we can try it.

That's a good question to ask the CEO why he labels Reddit and BCT and now even exchange traders as trolls and FUDsters at every opportunity. I think there is a large community of GAW customers outside HT but somehow the head of the company thinks there is a need to make a distinction.

Ends tomorrow at noon EST AFAIK. So you have about 18 hours left. Just watch that payout rate and you'll be fine. Even if you stay longer, you won't be losing anything. NH/WH usually pays slightly above "pure" BTC rate.

Well here we are focused on gaw as a scam, and the exchange used to trade gaw turns out to be a scam, right under our noses. Maybe ironic in an Alanis Morissette way lol.

So staked coins do the mining and gaw will hold like nearly all of them. What happens if someone with a few staked coins decides to DDoS GAW. Can he double spend at will?

No, because GAW doesn't own the coins.  They just host the online wallets in Zencloud.  There is no reason you have to hold your coins in Zencloud.  You can stake in your own personal wallet for a 5% APY.

Plus, there will be plenty of nodes and "orion" controllers outside of GAW's ecosystem.  Some prime controllers also probably live outside of GAW's data center too.  The Prime controllers hold the vast amount of coins.

So what happens to the blockchain when POW ends soon? There are no Prime Controllers or Orion nodes to control the network and record transactions. They are supposed to handle transactions and mint coins when needed. If there are no miners and these parts of the infrastructure are not online the blockchain will stop growing and transactions and trades will become impossible to perform.

Actually according to the timeline, the prime controllers were already created on Monday the 15th.  So they are already out there.

He's explicitly stated that they exist, and that the large investors received their coins with them.

However, nothing in our wallets interact with them in any way. So, yeah, issue.
