The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

New realization: the buyer doesn't even need phone, she can just write the escrow code down to paper. The seller receives the escrow code as well to her phone. She can just show the code to the buyer, and this way prove that the escrow has been released  Smiley

You have to be careful if you're holding other peoples money that your security is very good. Whilst convenient in some ways, I will not be using the escrow system for my own trades. Direct person to person trading is still the way to go.

Optimally we are holding the money only a short amount of time at a time. Therefore it should be a lot less risky than for example a traditional exchange, which holds the money for much longer periods.

Also, we are developing this now pretty much full time, testing it continuously and carefully. Of course it is your decision if you decide to trust us or not. The escrow process is optional to use, but it should make the whole exchange process a whole lot of easier & faster.

Edit: just to note, there are lots of web sites already, which people actively use, which have much higher risk profile than this service in my opinion. Eg. mining pools, web wallets, gambling sites.

We still need to clean some stuff before we can start translating the site. It could be translation-ready in about a week.

Nice service.
Here is simple feature request: What if you let people publish their quotes at some other web site? A small Java script, that allows some type of style settings will be really easy to use for this. If it's not too much trouble, a image with Bid/Ask @ Location will be also really cool.

While reading what I wrote, use the most friendliest and relaxing voice in your head.

Yeah, I was thinking of a html widget, which can be integrated easily using iframe. If anyone has any other suggestions, they are welcome.

Also other possibility is generated image, which can be integrated even to forums, but that might take some more time.

I tried to buy bitcoins from my own offer, while I was logged.
I was trying to better understand how everything was working.
Now, how can I cancel/delete the request?

Currently you can't cancel requests until there is an escrow - it works like a message board that way. I'll add cancellation feature to normal requests as well soon.

Ok, do you confirm that your sms service works also outside us/canada? ( example: european countries, there isn't any way to test it by now )
I think that you should open your escrow service also outside of public offers.

We have tested the SMS service in Germany, Finland, and it should obviously work in US and Canada since it is twilio. We have also additional sms provider in addition to twilio, in case twilio fails.

We could offer the escrow service elsewhere, I just can't figure scenarios where it could be useful Smiley What kind of applications would you use it for?

I think that people sometimes prefer to sell things face to face instead of sending them by mail.
Your service is good because it's possible use it without internet connection.

I see that it is possible to place an ad with or without registering. What is the advantage of registering? Are there any "premium" features?

Registering is needed to use the escrow service I suppose. ( even if it's not required to be used )
Anyway, it doesn't ask any personal information.

I was going to make an italian guide on my website about your service, but I'm waiting to know if you will make the escrow usable for other things and/or not public.

Can non-registered users get rating/feedback?

What happened to the BTC price ticker (24h)?
