The activity check period is the period of 3 days before a new period starts. (period = 7 days (at least, can be longer) + 3 days activity check)
when activity check is going on, you will get notifications in 3 ways:
1) you will see it in the topic title
2) I will post it frequently in the topic
3) your rank number will be colored on the scoreboard. green means OK, red means that you need to post something
also, you get a PM reminder for the first time you are in "the danger zone"
Reason behind all this:
if we don't do it, some people just forget about this game and they can be on the top of the list, without "actively being engaged with the trading"
Therefore, the rank will be colored. That is the place active players look. If you like this game, I bet you will check the scoreboard from time to time and you won't miss the colored rank number.

also important to note: you don't need to post during the activity check. One post between in a period between 2 checks counts as being active
