can you explain how to enable solo mining?

Create halcyon.conf as suggested in the OP and README.txt with your rpcuser and rpcpassword, launch your wallet and point your miner to port 21109 (default for rpcport). If you want to mine with multiple miners over the LAN, add rpcallowip=192.168.0.* or something like.

FYI (Sort of a cross-post from the Phoenixcoin ANN, sorry)

HAL can use more pool support, so here's one (I didn't know about at least) that hosts all four horsemen — HAL, PXC, ORB, and FTC:

http://pool.hashrefinery.com/site/gomining?algo=neoscrypt

Also, keep an eye on https://hexpool.com; they just added PXC and have ORB on the list (greyed out atm), and were hinting they might add HAL and/or FTC shortly.

hal.dnb.io has been offline for a long time, and zpool.ca has higher 2% fee.

Halcyon was added to multi.zPools.de

How to connect:
No registration is needed. Just point your wallet address to the server!
Quote
stratum+tcp://multi.zPools.de:4233 -u <Your Halcyon Wallet Address>

How to custom diff (advanced):

Yiimp uses a cool feature to adjust your difficulty just with the password field!
Quote
stratum+tcp://multi.zPools.de:4233 -u <Your Halcyon Wallet Address> -p d=<difficulty>

Fee:
Will stay the same
Quote
0.5% - fixed fee

Payout:
Is fair and often
Quote
Payout are every hour for balances over 0.001 HAL

Having Problem to get started?
The pool tries to find out which currency you want to mine by the address you put in. Thats not always working. Please try
Quote
stratum+tcp://multi.zPools.de:4233 -u <Your Halcyon Wallet Address> -p c=HAL

The now 4 years old "4 Horsemen" paved the way for many Altcoins, so they deserve a proper treatment
Quote
I want to bring the 4 Horsemen back together! You can mine PXE, ORB, and HAL here. FTC is syncing, but this sweety is slow Smiley

This coin is just a joke right? How will you have a yield of 100% per year on the POS system? How do you intend to sustain this and avoid devaluation?

Hello HALCYON team,

I'm happy to announce that your coin has been listed to ItalYiiMP 2.0 for mining,

to get paid in HAL just set c=HAL as password in your configuration.

It's up to 100% per year. Depends on difficulty. The issue rate cannot exceed 5 coins per block. 1 PoS block every 2.5 minutes. You do the math.
