That's great inkha,

It's great to also see a tweet from the GP twitter handle which I have re-tweeted out to my followers. It would be good to see a tweet every now and then just letting people know what is going on with developments and I'll be sure to re-tweet and tweet about GP as much as I can. Keep up the good work!

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Hey guys, So i'm looking for a little bit of input.

I have it now setup so when there's a balance in your account it shows your staking %

When a stake comes through, it will automatically be divied up between everyone, and you get your % of the coins mined.

Do you think I should have the staking % for each user be calculated immediately or calculate their staking % every 24 hours? I was thinking 24 hours since that's how long it would take for their coins to start having an effect and adding to the pools weight, but I also want to help out the little guy.

I think it's cool because they will be able to use the faucet, and then be able to hold their coins in there and it will grow little by little.

Cheers for any input, hope all is well.

also, all this bit is updated every few minutes, since coinmarketcap doesn't auto update our coin supply this should be more accurate.

Hey guys I have been working on a Faucet/Online Wallet/Staking Pool/Network Monitor all in one type site for GP as a few of the modules I can repackage to make future projects much easier. You can track the progress at http://gpfaucet.com/
Hello
How long does it take to synchronize?
Because I sent 3GP more than one hour ago on the address I got with the My Wallet/Deposit module, but my balance is still at 0.00000000 in gpfaucet  Huh
 https://cryptobe.com/tx/256740e8211ead751677955d85d9e105850cfcbe6c1c49411224738f4658cf1b
What is wrong?

BTW in the head of the screen "Inkha" is written next to a little man, and not my username...

Sorry I should of mentioned not to deposit yet as it's being developed right now, shouldn't be much longer before everything is functional. I was about to write a post about it as i'm writing the code to monitor and apply deposits and stakes now! Let me know your address and i'll send it back to you. Cheers. I will let you know when it's functional 100%.
Ok thank you, here is my address GMzDgUpDkeqFDp75Jcii2etNN1TRjSfirE
Don't hesitate to tell me when Gpfaucet will be ready.  Smiley

BTW on coinmarketcap there is no news since january 2016 https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/goldpieces/#social
It would be great to post new tweets sometimes.
(If this twitter account is no more valid, you can contact them to change it https://coinmarketcap.com/request/ )

I sent it back to you now, cheers! And I'm doing the request to update the information on CMC now.
thank you very much for the +1 GP in bonus I appreciate  Smiley

Gold pieces is just plain cool to have as a name it reminds me so much of world of warcraft. The mention of it being a gaming coin made me think of that.
The coin is nice I like the staking rate and that it is pretty stable. Nice.

Thanks man, I'm glad you like it! Back when I started in Bitcoin years ago I always wanted to start a coin, and in 2016 that's how GP/GoldPieces was given birth! I actually realized the name because I used to be obsessed with classic Runescape back when I was in middle school, I thought the idea of having an RPG like that would be nothing short of glorious, the game left a huge impact on my life, and I could only imagine 14-15 year old kids playing a newer version with a currency implemented as the in-game currency! It would also start introducing the younger generation to blockchain technology early on in their lives.

It surely could be used as a transfer of value for WOW coins, and Runescape coins, though that isn't the main idea I'm sure GP/GoldPieces will be used in many other ways in relation to gaming in general. Buying and selling of Retro games comes to mind, as well as gaming related gift card sales. I really do love this project and think the ideas behind it are great.

Hey guys, GPFaucet.com is up and running! It also doubles as a staking pool so you can claim your faucet rewards and also get a % of the stakes we receive! It has other useful network information on.

I'm going to be adding a simple dice game, and a chat box to the site as well!

If you love GP and want to help me out feel free to donate. I don't have much money, so anything helps! I'd eventually like to start purchasing online browser based games and implementing GP, launching marketing campaigns and more.

Good stuff, great to see things moving in GPscape!

Just one concern - Chrome (don't know about other browsers) highlights the site as "Not Secure".  Is there anything you can do about this?  Obviously this will put some people off.

Because there is a password field but there isn't a SSL certificate (https). I will look into setting up an SSL certificate!

Cool.

In answer to your earlier question I'd go for the 24-hour option.

That's what I was thinking to, right now it's setup to update every 10 minutes. I figure this will give new users to GP a chance to get some GP in there account and have that balance start growing from day 1 as soon as our staking pool starts to get some weight to it.

So much going on here now! Good job Inkha on the faucet, I really like it and I think it should be every 24 hours for the staking percent for each user be calculated. Also great to see the GoldPieces Twitter handle start to tweet again, I have already been re-tweeting and tweeting about the new faucet. Keep them tweets coming as I'll be sharing them with my 4.7k followers. I'm so glad I never sold any GP's and continued to stake as in stakes alone I have earned well over 100 coins in just a few months. Of course it depends on how many coins we stake so my stakes might be different then someone else but still I'm happy with this amount which will continue to grow as time goes on. Keep up the good work Inkha!

@ inkha: Great to see how passionate you are about this project.

This might be a silly question, but are there any instructions around on how the staking pool/faucet works?
I've got some GP but literally have no idea how to participate in it (or what the benefits/potential risks would be).
Cheers

For the faucet you can just fill out the captcha and click claim to collect GP rewards every half an hour, which you can then keep in your balance or withdraw.
The staking is based upon your current on-site balance. Here's mine right now for example (Information from the top left box):

Current Balance: 1352.82405398 GP
Stake Share: 53.63158753%

Now what this means is that with 1,353 coins I own 53% of the coins in the staking pool right now, when a newly staked/minted coin comes in for example if the pool gets a stake of 2.5GP i would receive 1.34078968 (53%) of them, and the rest of the remaining 2.5GP mined coins would be distributed in the same fashion to the other pool members.

The pros of this are once the pool becomes more popular we will start staking coins faster as our pools staking weight grows. You don't need to have the GoldPieces wallet running and open on your computer 24/7 since you can just keep them on the faucet/staking pool instead.

The downside is that you don't have complete control over your wallet, though I have taken many steps to ensure our safety. The wallet and database files are backed up daily personally by me, and the entire server is backed up daily as well to ensure maximum safety of our coins.

Hope this clears things up for you a bit!
