Unless $23K is an insignificant amount for you, no you will not. You are over invested and will be emotional on price movements. If price falls 80% will you panic sell? If you double your money one year and then it falls back to your original investment amount the following year will you still hold?

Don't worry, it's all profit for me. I bought in originally at $1 and again at $7 and $13 and made enough money to buy my house. I've 100btc left and just want to retire. I'm sick of my job.

Yes, but why 2020? 2016 is more likely. If we are to repeat 2011-13 story...

It'll still take a long time for the average personage to - figure out what BTC is, have enough places incentivising its use, and them actually taking the plunge.

Maybe 2016 will offer a fresh wave of speculation but I would've thought 2020 is more likely to give an idea of what 'real' adoption is like.

I think the bitcoin price will rise to 10'000 dollars when the block reward will be < 1 BTC, so as write here :

in that moment I think (& hope) we will see 8-10 k dollars per bitcoin.

It should be much higher by then, way higher. It should be the 1st digital payment method by then surpasing all credit card companies combined. Other scenario means failure.

100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020?

Probably.

Mind you, a million bucks doesn't go very far these days. A crappy little condo in downtown Toronto costs more than that.

Buy some bitcoins every month, regardless of the price. In the long run, you will probably be ahead. The idea here is that, like gold and silver, bitcoins are money, and it is better money to save in gold, silver and bitcoins than fiat currencies.

What do you think? I think I might be close. I'm guessing $10,000 per bitcoin by then.

Possibly, but what will $10,000 buy you then? A loaf of bread?

they said the same thing in 90 year, about 2010-2015 years, and guess what, nothing has change

Yeah, perhaps I was a little extreme.
Okay, two loaves of bread and a croissant. Cheesy

Jam and butter too?  Or is that an extra $200.  Cheesy

Quote
I’m sure that in 20 years there will either be very large (bitcoin) transaction volume or no volume.

that, is either price will skyrocket or goes to 0.

Are you willing to accept the risk of losing everything?

as Satoshi said, you will either be a millionaire or have nothing by 2020

(you can easily find the quote)

i think he was talking to the members of long ago.  the original "satoshi group". those that were getting dozens of bitcoin daily.  he did not mean everyone who has any BTC will be a millionaire in 2020

how can you guys expect a $20000 investment to me worth a million in a matter of 5 years?

Wait for the next two halving. I'm predicting price to go up drastically after that period.

I don't know, but I think when the block reward will be < 1 btc I 'm sure the  bitcoin price will be > 4500 dollars. We will never see again (in this year and also the next)  $ 1k per bitcoin. The old pump it was only an high chinese/asian manipulation, now all we see that it is very difficult also to reach  $ 500 per bitcoin or am I wrong ?

No, you'll still have 100 bitcoins, not 1000000.

yes but that happened in the growth and recognition stage.  before it was even useful for anything.  10k for a pizza.  we are way past that now.  growth will be gradual not exponential.

That also happened 2 years ago, when a pizza was 1 or 0.01 BTC (depending on the start or end).  I realize exponential growth can t continue forever, but bitcoin is still tiny.
