What do you think? I think I might be close. I'm guessing $10,000 per bitcoin by then.

Possibly, but what will $10,000 buy you then? A loaf of bread?

The US dollar isn't inflating THAT much, cmon.
Gotta agree with nor9865 on this one.  Worst case scenario you'll still be able to pick up 2 pepperoni pizza's @ $10,000 USD by then :p

I think 100 bitcoins is not extremely impressive.
You will definitely become moderately wealthy if you keep them but not a millionaire.

Anyway, hold your coins. Smiley

IMO, if you have less than a million, you are not moderately wealthy.  Smiley

a million bucks aint what it used to be lol
when i was a kid i thought having a million would = retirement on some beach somewhere lol
now it my city you need a few million for a decently modest  apartment/house  that isnt the size of a shoebox and thats BEFORE you take into account everthing else like cars and bills and fuck knows what

100 btc in a few years will be a million easily id say but yes you are correct  ,a million isnt really a lot so i would get more $2xx coins if i was the OP ..........

Couldn't reach that number , at least not after five years .
I will give it till 2025 and It may reach 5,000$ , 10k $ is kinda Unlikely to be honest . and As Satoshi Nakamoto said once , you either become a millionaire or have nothing . For now Bitcoin is alive , let's hope it stays that way.

probably not. I cannot completely rule it out, but I see that the time window may be too short, as main problem.
Despite many news about inflationary pressure, I don't see the inflation in US$ raising that much in the next 5 years. If not inflation, then the wide-scale adoption is the second most important factor that may bring the price towards $10k. Hard to tell here, as my crystal ball is not fine-tuned, but you may think of such question yourself: would the adoption of bitcoin further grow at such a speed as in the first five years of its existence? Well, just to tell you my opinion: it is way much easier to grow from nearly zero to where we are right now (hundreds), rather than from here to 10k (another hundred fold).

I'd consider myself wealthy with a tenth of a million.
But it all depends if it's quitting-you-job wealthy or just comfortable living added to your previous career.

Well that would be pretty cool to have 100 coins equal $1 million retire for the price of 25k!

I am sorry but this is so unlikely  Angry

I am not sure if bitcoin will hit 100K a unit by 2020 although i am bullish on bitcoin. I know that if there is mass adoption, btc can go up further, but, we need to look at Bitcoin itself as a currency.. we should buy and sell in bitcoin and not look at the USD value. Then we will realise the actual potential of bitcoin. It all looks nice and fine when we convert to USD, but whats the use of comparing something like Bitcoin to a failing and highly inflationary based currency? Printing USD without gold reserves to actually back it up is only asking for trouble in the long run. Imagine a future where fiat collapses and the only ones with bitcoin rule the roost. Could be a distant dream, but could be our future too with the way the fiat system is going atm. I would be a proud owner of 5 bitcoins or more by then, why this figure? Cause i currently hodl 5  btc and will not let go even if the price crashes to the ground. Maybe at that point, we will see what BTC really is, a currency in its own right!  Grin

There are people who bought 100 coins for $200 (or even lesser).
The rise of Bitcoin has been phenomenal - so don't rule it out yet.  Smiley
