I agree totally. Even no one will know the price of bitcoin in this year. But I hope. I'm doing the same to you. I'm accumulating as much as I can and even I am sure that i will never have 100 bitcoin even 50 it is not bad....

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

What is a millionaire to you? Somebody who can sit back and not have to work each day, live of his fortune? You can't do that with a mere USD 1M today

You can if you don't fritter your resources on bling. I know quite a few people who are time rich and money poor.

I guess it all depends on how long you expect to live on USD 1M.

I'm expecting to live about another 40 years, which would give me USD 25k/year to live off. If you are only 20 years old, you only have USD 16.6k/ year to live off. Is that enough for food, housing (rent or property taxes) and 4 kids going to university? For from a bling life...

What do you think? I think I might be close. I'm guessing $10,000 per bitcoin by then.

In dream yes ... you are billionaire now .... but in reality you have nothing except some bits or bytes ......

Em no, 100 BTC are now worth €20,000 if I was to sell them now.  That's hardly nothing.  So what do you think they will be worth in 2020 and why?

Rates are still low to be a millionaire lol.

Well for the non-whale who has coins atleast, unless you got coins when they were $1 or way less different story.

Its at low $200ish now ever since the split with bitcoin going to happen.

I feel like they buying it just cause the price they see will eventually go up.

Or they feel like the price will be up after the Xt or hard fork is over and we see no difference.

As said not this hyper, price will go up but may you need to consider 2200 rather than 2020 Wink

I think bitcoin will reach 10k+ in 2020. Maybe 100k+ even.

And what is the use if due to hyperinflation USD 10k buys you a loaf of bread?

Yeah I'm a millionaire.... happy happy joy joy :-)

The cost of bread has gone up 20x in the past 100 years. You're saying you believe it's possible for it to go up 4000x in the next 5 years? Lol. The Fed will never let that happen.

Seems like you dont understand how the economy works. The fed cannot do anything about it, hyperinflation is inevitable, you should read my thread about inflation and how it works to learn more:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1147264.msg12091062#msg12091062

They can stall it or let it collapse, in both outcomes hyperinflation will happen.

You will definitely be a millionaire by 2020 if you manage to still hold your coins.

Satoshi millionaire. Getting rich with coins bought above 100$ is highly unlikely.

< 100 BTC is not worth mentioning. Poor souls will always remain poor. Don't miss the failtrain.

I believe that bitcoin has a decent chance of getting to 5k-10k within say 5 years. If it didn't at least that kind of a possibility, to repeat myself again, the risk  just  worth it.

Markets are wonderful and magical things. They value anything based on concensus with an eye on the future. So, if the answer was 'yes', then you would already be close to being a millionaire. Conversely, if the answer was 'no', then the value of BTC would probably be a lot less than it is today. So the answer is maybe. It is always brave to bet against the market because other people (or institutions) in agregate usually have greater knowledge than you can hope to have. That said, BTC is still below the radar of the mainstream financial system, and is the only thing I can think of that has a real chance of that kind of growth.

In short, my guess is that 100 BTC will be worth $1M, but not by 2020. 2025 would be my guess.

So archive this, and quote me in 2020 or 2025 to ridicule me or show me as a visionary.

Next year, if not, then 2017

Thinking of the same thing, if this run played perfectly at the start of 2016, then there's a possibility that you will have a million dollars by next year or 2017. And btw, in our country's money, 100 bitcoins is alread equivalent to a million lol.

I wouldn't invest that much on Bitcoin, but that of course is very personal. It's just the risk is too much to lose it all really. If Bitcoin really, actually go to the moon, then I think 10 will be more than enough. If there are only 21 million and becomes a major commodity or currency by its own will, then we'll all be well off.

I strongly agree that hundred bitcoins will make you millionaire by the year 2020. Almost 5 years are there, so anything is possible in this much time span. The recent price rise is the good example for anything would happen at any time in bitcoin ecosystem.
