QUOTE:

"Trades and withdrawals will be suspended on the site indefinately until some sort of resolution can be made.

Here are our options:

1. We shut down the website and file bankruptcy, letting users file claims via the bankruptcy process and letting the court make the disbursements.

- or –

2. Somebody else comes in to purchase and run Cryptsy while also making good on requested withdrawals.

- or –

3. If somehow we are able to re-aquire the stolen funds, then we allow all withdrawal requests to process.

I’m obviously open to any other ideas people may have on this."

I guess these 100,000+ CBX stored on cryptsy is gonna be stuck for a long time. Why don't they put unaffected coins up for withdrawal?

Because #1 is the most likely option and even though all coins should be being held in a custodial fashion, my guess is that all positions will be liquidated (possibly via silk road auction?) by the bankruptcy court in order to make as many people as whole as possible.  If the losses are as staggering as they appear, all who lost will unfortunately receive just satoshis on their BTC.

We have been making excellent progress and are getting close to an official release... Did you get v2.3.1 that Alex made available to the public for testing? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=951753.msg13511046#msg13511046

And this my friends is why decentralization is so critical.
http://www.engadget.com/2016/01/15/mike-hearn-quits-bitcoin/

PoSP operates in such a manner that it prevents the centralization that has occurred in Bitcoin (and is the natural progression for all PoW systems).

PoSP encourages, rewards and fosters an environment of true decentralization by removing the financial barriers of entry to participate in generating new coins and confirming transactions.

With Bitcoin you have 2 distinct groups; users (investors and exchangers) and creators (miners and transaction confirming parties). Users are dependent on creators and creators are concerned with their own financial interests - sound familiar?

With CBX and PoSP, users and creators are the same entity so there is no conflict of interest. Everyone can easily join in and participate in the network by simply obtaining some CBX and leaving it in their online and unlocked Vault where it will operate to confirm transactions and secure the network thereby earning the owner a reward of a portion of the newly created CBX.

Guys, we have an incredible evolution of the crypto currency concept in our hands. It's hard not to get more and more excited about this everyday as we watch events play out as envisioned when creating the concepts and solutions behind PoSP.

Enjoy the ride guys, this will be fun!

This centralization problem that BTC has been experiencing, is now sparking this deep divide; and it's making holding BTCs a scarier and riskier proposition every day. In principle, functionality and dropping value, BTC is becoming less and less of a good idea. We have seen giants fall, just recently with Cryptsy; BTC can fall, too. I just didn't think that those flaws of the Bitcoin would come to haunt it so soon!

Cryptocurrencies, however, are here to stay - in my opinion. That's why we are here.

Crypto Bullion has an answer for the problems of Bitcoin; right now CBX is looking safer and more promising than BTC... it just needs more public acceptance and awareness.

as elambert has said, enjoy the ride!  Grin
