Makes sense really, it is the obvious choice.  If anybody has had an eye on the altcoin scene over the last year or so there have been coins created specifically aimed at the porn industry, some of these more obvious than others.  We had Tittiecoin, Sexcoin and so on, I don't think there was ever an Adultcoin which would make more sense and would probably have more adoption as it is not as in your face as some of the blatent porn named coins.

I posted this link in another thread a few months back, apparently not a lot of people have heard about this site but I think it's a pretty cool one. It's not a porn site per say but it's got a NSFW section which consists of amateur porn  You can basically put any of your pics (not just naughty ones) up for sale on that site and decide on the amount of Bitcoin you want for them. I think it's an awesome idea plus it's a nice change to have real amateur porn with regular people instead of all the streamlined, plastic, Barbie porn everywhere else. Bitcoin payments on adult sites are nothing uncommon, but Porn.com is by far the biggest service to embrace bitcoin. Most adult sites that accept bitcoin are tiny and easily dwarfed by Porn.com, as it is effectively an umbrella for heaps of smaller porn sites. The advantages of using bitcoin to pay for adult content are more or less obvious. People are not too keen to share their credit card data with small adult websites and they have perfectly good reasons aside from anonymity.

There are millions (if not billions) of porn sites around the world, out of which only a handful are accepting Bitcoins. We have been trying hard for the past 2 or 3 years, still there is not much progress. A little bit disappointed with that.

yeah, same feeling here. just because porn is pioneer of anything related to tech. from video tapes and DVD to blue-ray, 4k or 3d or implementations of payment gateways on websites etc etc. everything for first brought by porn industry, so this is very good point to stop - how porn ind. is handling bitcoin and what is progress here.

Paid porn is also a huge industry in terms of revenues and subscriber numbers. The world-wide revenues were estimated at more than $100 billion in 2014, and it continues to grow at a brisk pace. Unfortunately, we don't even have a 0.01% slice of this $100 billion pie. May be one of the reasons might be that no one tries to explain the benefits of using BTC to these porn industry giants.

Aside from this list other big players in the industry have opened up to BTC/altcoins as well. I think the bigger problem here is people using the cryptos - it's still a bit of a process to get bitcoin before you can spend it and even then it's just easier to use a credit card direct on the site. I see you can use Paypal on a number of adult sites now too.

I think its more about getting people to use cryptos, other players in the industry will open up to it quicker when they see it is being used more.
