It seems the porn industry is warming up to Bitcoin. GadgetCoin actually started to work with the porn industry  http://[Suspicious link removed]/1LDeFdL

Using Bitcoin, the blockchain and smart contracts GadgetCoin offers 95% cash out for the web-cam models  http://[Suspicious link removed]/1GUAH7v

i don't think any altcoin would be able to provide any liquidity to a web cam business or a business model is they are not backup by btc revenue in order to keep the price stable.

That plus, models have a hard time with understanding bitcoins, let alone some coin that they have never heard of.

Quote
The main costs behind video streaming are the server, internet traffic and RTMP server licensing. GadgetNet disrupted this business model by decentralizing the streaming. Normally an RTMP server streams the video to the viewers, but in GadgetNet’s instance the broadcasters push the stream directly to their peers.

Very much wrong, the main cost for a webcam site, is marketing. Remember no one shows up, they don't get paid. Operating cost scale with that. Also decentralized streaming is very poor quality. People want HD, not SD at best and bad bitrates. Even p2p video is not up to the quality people want.

I am not sure why do you think decentralized streaming produces a poor quality. What can be poor in pushing data via UDP peer to peer instead of channelling the data through a centralized RTMP server? The 3600 kbps or even 8000 kbps HD stream primarily depends on bandwidth and not architecture. If the model or studio internet connection supports the HD upload speed which normally does, then the end user receives the HD quality video - the broadcasting peers forwards the very same stream after all. In fact, it is easier to achieve a good quality video push directly from the broadcaster to the end user without an intermediary RTMP server.

Regarding to the operational cost, what I have been hearing from the porn industry is that the marketing cost is large at the beginning, so yes, you are quite right about that, but later the main cost is the server infrastructure and broadcasting. Livejasmin has 30 million daily visitors, a live MyFreecam session often broadcasts to 2000 users and such massive user base requires a very serious infrastructure. That's the very reason LiveJasmin pays out only 40% to new models who don't generate paid traffic. As you said, only the paid live session brings revenue, the rest is only cost at least it is the case in the Livejasmin model.

To minimize the marketing cost our plan is that the models will bring their existing customers to a GadgetNet where the pay out is 95% vs 40-50-60%.

UHMMM no it doesn't work that way but I applaud you for trying. Do you have benchmarks to support those claims?

LOL that isn't how it works models like to be exposed to new people and bring an audience is easier said then done.

I am on my phone so I can't be detailed.

LoL someone is worried about the competition  Smiley

and what an ultimate authority you are legendary gweedo  Grin  one, 1 girl on your "webcam" site, speaks hungarian to a hungarian guy, probably you, while 1 visitor watch the lamest ever show on your site.

You have 1 webcam model on your site after 6 months of operation and you are the smart ass here and educate the audience how the adult industry works. It's just embarrassing man. Your site is the lamest adult web site I have ever seen.

I checked out the gadgetcoin, gadgetnet and jizzmo.net business model, they pay 95% of the models. The web-cam models will move to that service, it is just no brainier, and yes the model will move their clients to jizzmo.net too.

Go way man with your 1 model website and don't present yourself as someone who knows how the adult industry works, because your 6 months old service with 1 model indicates what you know about adult business and live video broadcasting.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I can assure you our video is HD quality, but you will be able to verify this by checking out our service that will start soon. Also, I suggest once the source is fully released in Github, please download our peer to peer video streaming application, compile it and you will be able to verify the performance that way as well.

This is a 4 billion dollar market and I think new players like our GadgetNet/GadgetCoin application and our www.jizzmo.net barnd can co-exist with established providers, like your web site. We need only 50 models to start the service, there are 40,000 models worldwide, at least 500 of them are top earners with monthly +20k revenue and some of them already in contact with us because our 95% pay-out means at least a 40% extra revenue for the model. The response from the Bitcoin community is tremendous, we received US 2,100 support from the community today as well as community members already allocated 17 servers with a combined of 50K TB per month data transfer to us. This decentralized autonomous business venture will be a true community effort and please imagine, if several hundred BCT members team up with us then we will have the server power to even take on twitch.tv and Amazon. After all, live video streaming is nothing else but server power and this community can put together a larger server power than Amazon has. Please note, and I am sure you know this, many-many twitch.tv game broadcasters are very unhappy with Amazon's huge cut from their hard earned revenue just like many Livejasmin models are unhappy with the terms and large cut of the service provider. I believe we have the business case by bringing Bitcoin more aggressively to the broadcasters to provide the broadcasters with increased revenue - 95%  versus the existing 50% from Amazon and Livejasmin. What we try to accomplish is good for Bitcoin, good for the models and will be beneficial for our supporters by paying 5% to our supporters from our video stream revenue.

I think we could work not against each other, but supporting each other. I understand you are an expert in this field and your expertise would be highly appreciated by the GadgetNet community. Please work with us if you think our effort and what we are trying to achieve worthy your support.

well i can show them the same for fiat, so it does not make sense that they believe bitcoin is only for drug only, unless they are really stupid or something, everyone should've an open mind at least partially

When the mainstream media is portraying Bitcoin as something demonic, which is associated with child porn and illegal drugs, it will be very hard to change the normal people's opinion. Even if you argue in favor of Bitcoin, some of the people are going to think that you are either a pedophile, or a member of some drug cartel.

There is only one option to counter this --- social media.

Public opinion and perception of bitcoin will change over time but nothing much we can do about their ignorance currently. Once they see the benefits of bitcoin they'll come around eventually. All we can do currently is to just keep spreading the word and trying to educate people in whatever way we can.

Agreed. Bitcoin needs porn. It certainly helped blu-ray win out over the technologically superior HD-DVD.

No, he is not. Please don't be ridiculous. He could manage to sign up a whopping 1 model to his site in the last 6 months - that's what an expert he is. Legendary my ass. He has proven his ability in building an adult business all right - 1 model and two users in six months. He talks bollocks because he is jealous as you obviously have the winning formula with your 95% pay out. Of course models will move to your jizzmo.net website from Livejasmin and MyFreecams. No model will stay with a 50-60% pay out it if the GadgetNet platform pays out 95%.

Plus, if you could pull out the Bitcoin based twitch.tv alternative that will be astronomical.

What you do is fantastic for Bitcoin, it could bring lots of new users into the Bitcoin platform and for the very right reason. Real world use case - paying for porn and gaming with Bitcoin. Go ahead single mindedly and don't worry what jealous wankers moan about.

Nice amateur material, i do believe bitcoin will first begin to work better for independent adult material and amateurs like the msg above, then the bigger companies will follow once they see the benefits and how easy its to offer paid material for bitcoin.

The porn industry is estimated to be worth $100 Bn per year. To give you an idea, that is more than 25 times the market cap of Bitcoin.
Apparently, a lot of people are still paying for porn. Tongue

I do think that there is some rationale for the banning of certain hard drugs which have a much greater potential for harm vs. soft drugs like marijuana or even LSD but other than that, you are pretty much preaching to the choir. Not once did I say that I personally believe any of those mentioned activities to be morally wrong.

Bitcoin sees very little economic activity compared with fiat. Fiat is used to buy your baked beans at the supermarket. Fiat is used to pay the mortgage for your house. Fiat is used to pay for your children's college educations. Bitcoin isn't. Until recently, the vast majority of the Bitcoin economy was comprised of "underground" elements and this association was only beginning to be shed from the beginning of last year. Fiat, on the other hand, has much more varied set of uses and the "underground" elements only comprise a minority of the fiat economy. Since this association has hurt mainstream adoption of Bitcoin in the past and is something that the Bitcoin community is trying to distance itself from, is it really wise to be actively encouraging underground markets to adopt BTC at this point in its evolution?

I'm not a vegan myself but if I lived in a society where 95% were vegans who opposed meat/dairy consumption, I would not like to see Bitcoin being targeted towards livestock and poultry farms, slaughterhouses, and butcheries - especially if the (presumably) taboo meat/dairy industry already comprises a significant share of the Bitcoin economy.

Society is irrational and illogical, but if Bitcoin wants to be mainstream then unfortunately, it must pander to society's views and expectations.

I don't think any drugs should be banned, because banning does not stop anyone from taking it.  It just places them in a category of being a criminal rather than someone with a health issue or addiction problem.  Many pharmaceuticals and even over the counter drugs can lead to death from overdose, and actually there are many more deaths from "legal" drugs than "illegal" drugs.

Most people consider heroin a terrible drug - super addictive and difficult to be a functional person for users.  But morphine prescribed to a patient seems totally fine, when it is the same thing (pharmaceutical grade) and equally as addictive.

I think for Bitcoin, it needs as many transactions as possible to stabilize its volatility before the mainstream adopts it.  So it needs to start with some of the more taboo industries.  Instead of being selective of which industries to enter, Bitcoin needs to just be focused on growing as much as possible.
