And here is finally the board (to be populated for now).

Next to its homemade stencil.

looking forward to this.  so 2 chips will do

? 256 sha

? scrypt

? watts

thread is long I am lazy and don't want to read it all again.

Ballpark numbers

are 300gh  sha 256 ?

and  2gh scrypt ?

See below.

Update 14/4/15:

Thank you all for waiting so patiently, today we'd like to announce some long awaited specifications for the SF3301!

The SF3301 fully utilizes the advantages of the FD-SOI technology. With increased forward body bias the chip is operational at lower voltages while maintaining a higher frequency. The chip boasts impressive power efficiency while affording high hash power, allowing for much lower wastage per hash. The ASIC’s lowest working voltage is 0.45V, with lowest BTC efficiency at 0.19J/GH, and lowest LTC efficiency at 1.75J/MH. In current market conditions compared to other mining technology, dual-algorithm capabilities can provide a clear advantage.

After strenuous testing of the SF3301, we reached hashrates of 152GH/s for SHA-256 and 3.17MH/s for Scrypt.

This month we will also be releasing a number of documents for the SF3301 as open source including the ASIC Development Board designs.

Next month we will release some design specifications for our debut miner.

Additionally in the near future SFARDS will be selling ASIC development boards and sample chips, making the SF3301 accessible to developers who wish to customize and build their own hardware. SFARDS welcomes any and all developers and communities to build upon our technology and contribute to the mining ecosystem.

Please contact info@sfards.com for more information.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

This one is a dev board, so the chips may be stressed a little bit to see the lower and upper limits.
It's been designed to allow over 200A for both SHA and scrypt and to work with one or two chips.

For commercial product, I'd say that SHA should be limited around 100GH per chip to have a good stock efficiency and still some potential for over/underclock by tweaking voltage.
Scrypt can be used to the max allowed by the chips since the efficiency is really good.

How large are the chips

How big is the chip?

The chip silicon and substrate sizes are in the datasheet [...].  SF3301 substrate is 19x19mm. [...]
It should be the same size as Spondoolies-Tech's RockerBox [...].
( A bunch of this data is in the wiki )

SF100 - the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner is getting into mass production

In Crypto currency mining history, there used to be a unique type of sha-256 and scrypt dual-mode miner, which are famous Gridseed 5-chip USB miner and G-Blade miner.  The dual-mode miners accomplished huge success in 2014. Even now, there are still quite a lot of 5-chip USB miners and G-Blades running all over the world.

With the experience of developing dual-mode chip and miner manufacturing  succeeded from Gridseed, Sfards Technology has successfully developed and produced the first FD-SOI 28nm SHA-256 (Bitcoin) and Scrypt ( Litecoin ) dual-mode mining chip SF3301, in massive scale. After more than one month evaluating, prototyping, and extreme-condition pressure testing, the first 28nm dual-mode miner, SF100, is about to be produced massively.

http://i61.tinypic.com/20rjviu.jpg
SF100 dual-mode miner has 24 SF3301 chips, with the running modes as following:

  • Dual mining mode, Bitcoin hashing power 1700 GHS + Litecoin hashing power 47 MHS, the power consumption at wall of whole miner is 960W.
  • Bitcoin single mining mode: Hashing power 1700 GHS, power consumption 770W.
  • Litecoin single mining mode: Hashing power 47 MHS, power consumption 180W.

With 0.45W/GHS + 3.8W/MHS, the power efficiency of SF100 is by far the best in the market. It is also possible to overclock to certain extent (Sha-256: 2T, Scrypt: 55M).

The unique ability of dual-mode mining makes SF100 the best choice of mining community. It offers more choices to dig potentials not only of bitcoin, but also of litecoin and other altcoins. For fiat currency investors, dual-mode is good for them because SF100 maximizes their profits; for bitcoin“fundamentalists”, it’s also preferable since the altcoin revenue helps them to cover the power cost of mining bitcoin.

Based on recent bitcoin and litecoin price, a dual-mode SF100’s revenue equals to a 2.8-3.2T pure bitcoin miner, which makes it 0.3-0.34W/GHS power efficiency. (Take June 19th price for instance, one SF100 generates 4.2 USD from bitcoin and 3.8 USD from Litecoin, in total 8 USD per day).

Sfards Technology will be selling SF100 to public on July, the first batch quantity is limited. The SF3301 chip will be available for sale on August.

all well and good

1) what is the price in BTC with shipping?

2) not a pre-order I gather?

3) firm shipping date they go out the door by?

But no price tag...
Another useless announcement from SFARDS.

well it an't much of a pow alt scrypt miner announcement but anything for equip in any manner is better then none

this unit will have to be cheap to fly as a 1.7TH unit however like prob less then 1k cheap in that you can get sp20's on ebay at 1.7TH
for 400 bucks

it really don't fly well as a home miner for btc and at 47mh at the watts stated is not to great either

if they are planning on moving most of this stuff in chips in china etc for others to make/use that is how they can make $$$
imho....and the 'de facto' at cost personal sfards data hall which is all the rage

but the home miner would get their name out there i'd give them that but you'd have to move a heck of a lot of them at 47mh
to effect something like LTC and the difficulty and the Titan(s) with the other stuff like 900w 50w gaw miners dropping off the
mining field this is true of the data hall use if they toss them chips out to all who want ..in that mostly the chips are good for BTC
mining and the LTC on even a data hall scale is negligible imho

just saying..but then again I thought the sp20 by spondoolies was way over priced when they first came out ...etc but hey they sold out what do i know Smiley

comes down to price ..if they are way way cheaper then I suspect on all the above they have a real shot..but when has that ever been true or asic equip announcements Smiley

heh so you just have to buy one price unknown shipping unknown (why does that sound familiar..deja vu 2013)

at a bulk of 100 units a pop!

hmmmm........get PR by announcing a new product for scrypt.....sell few.....save the $$$ for big chip sales in the future
and free PR.....brilliant all the hype of pre-order with none of the hassle and yet you get exposure for a data hall future customers
and chip bulk sales of product!

well played...well played indeed!

my impression is the whole unit is 1.7TH for bitcoin 47mh for scrypt 960w for whatever price they sell for ..at 100 bulk orders thru which ever
re-seller sells these units at a markup

do the calcs on btc and ltc mining it is kinda awful imho and if you are into LTC cut the above in 1/2 for mh actual in 2 months after the upcoming halving

but again price is key

I'm using this line for the above on the announcement picture for the unit on page 1

If only this SF100 could:

1) be shipped without PSU;
2) cost about 450-500 USD...
