At the end of the day, all they have done is tell the forum members that they have taped out their chip. They are not asking for your money nor are they promising something that they may not be able to deliver, sounds like good engineering practice to me.
They have done absolutely nothing wrong or underhand except share information on their plans. Whether you like their plans or not, at least they have given an indication of where they are planning to go. Personally, I don't think what they are doing is particularly cost effective but I do hope that they make it and that it works.
What they have done is encourage some debate, which is never a bad thing. I'm pretty sure that if they want to sell you something then they'll give out all the information you need.

this looks like a DOA item.
It will do poorly if it does not show up like April 15th. I wish it would but I have very little hope for this item.
The main problem is they have given zero specs , even if you were planning a may launch you would have preliminary specs and a data sheet. I say again this is probably vaporware for this qurter, maybe they will release something 4th q who knows. I think this inital post was a PR stunt to make people stop buying other hardware (s5s) and hold out for something better/new. s5's are sold out the only new gear in stock from asic builders is the avalon 4.1 and it is costly

Oh... just saw this thread... I wonder what gridseed 2.0 is going to look like... the specs listed in the OP show some nice power efficiency predictions - at least on the SHA side. Will be interesting to see the actual products that come of these chips. Welcome to the forums SFARDS. By the way... what's up with the deer on the desk?

still nothing? Nothing on their other channels either... no pics of the elusive test product. SVARDS... If you had nothing to actually show us, why bother posting the announcement?
One Russian peddler promised to Russian community that he will get in hands something from SFARDS on April 17th. But he still can't say the exact specs, so as the price (hmm...). Tapeout was in November if we can trust to his words. First sales started in the end of February he says. And here is another teaser:

Will be interesting what they are able to do. Not many miners do scrypt and sha, normally focus on one and make the best miner for that algo.

I have to say that showing random photos of the insides of various industrial plants plus one of a 4" wafer does nothing to demomstrate their technology, nor does a bunch of graphs with headings like "Consumer Price Index", "Population Growth" and so on. Sure, it's just space filler but it might have been better just to put 'under construction'. Oh, and by the way guys, no one EVER said that Scrypt couldn't be "asic'd", any decent electronics designer could clearly deduce that it could and would at some point if it was commercially viable.

We know they can build this. The question is when does it release May 1st? What does it mine hash wise btc/256 at .4 watts or less? What does it cost 25 cents a gh? say 250 for a 1th machine. If not it will be typical too costly too slow to get it gear.

Yeah those pics after all this time is a huge red flag. Those pics have been up since the better part of forever. archive.org is slow, but you can check the march 15th capture. Not that it matters much, but stock photography use is pretty low on a red flag list. ( When there's claims of hardware in hand, that stock photography should be replaced or at least augmented with actual product photography. ) When does the millions of dollars money grab end? As soon as Li Xiao Lai et al stop investing? I'm all for skepticism, but this isn't BFL and similar asking the public for money. At worst most people here can be upset for getting their hopes up and/or spending a minute or two in this thread.

We're not talking about stock photography, but images purposely gleaned from various other websites. Even Sfards would scream foul if an image belonging to only them was taken from their site to advance whatever agenda. Correct, that no moneys has been asked yet, but that doesn't stop people inquiring of them if they would take moneys early via other channels since their copy, et al., is more or less coming across as viable.

It does not really matter since these are coming in too late and not power efficient enough to be of any worth to me. I will most likely buy 1 or 2 just to fuck around with it.

We're not talking about stock photography, but images purposely gleaned from various other websites. Just to clarify, when I say 'stock photography' I don't necessarily mean photography appropriately licensed from any one of the dozens of stock media sites. While that's the legal and ethical route, there's certainly plenty of google image searching for what one's looking for and grabbing that if it's seemingly plastered all over. e.g. the datacenter image is found at networksolutionexperts.com as you point out. That's not the source, though - if you overlay the two (scale the sfards one up a bit) you'll find that the sfards one has more of the picture in the bottom that's cropped out from the one at networksolutionexperts.com. The same image (various crops/sizes/manipulations thereof) is also easily found at dancoelectrical.com, transientpowersolutions.com, virtuallymikebrown.com, poweranddata.info, idce.com.cn, conduitnw.org, indiamart.com, comparex.be, ictassetrecovery.com, cccassoc.org, nocser.net, cabenolan.com, technologymovers.net, veridata.com.ph, security.engin.umich.edu, community.spiceworks.com, theregister.co.uk, collage.co.za, igts.in, fmknet.com, facebook.com/ACCL.Ltd, thesundaytimes.co.uk, blog.zoha-islands.com... and that's just pages 1-5 on google. Speaking of which, the original source appears to be said Google, as most proper attributions lead to Google with the caption suggesting it was a photo inside their Mayes County, Oklahoma data center. ( Note that I'm also not saying that this isn't a proper stock photo. I have no idea if Google licensed it freely or licensed it to a stock photography service to sell, etc. Some attributions mention EPA, but I can't spot it in their catalog - though I used filters as i'm not going to wade through thousands of results. Edit: The chip image, for example, is available as a stock photo - https://www.inmagine.com/amrf378/amrf09503010370-photo ) Again, though, that doesn't mean they shouldn't attempt to replace stock photography when they can. Correct, that no moneys has been asked yet, but that doesn't stop people inquiring of them if they would take moneys early via other channels since their copy, et al., is more or less coming across as viable. Fair enough - but those investors would hopefully do their due diligence beyond salivating at/getting shot down by a bitcointalk thread
