The ratio reward/effort of having a nice website is huge, literaly. IMHO, most of the hardware sells could be sold slightly higher and/or in greater quantities if there was not the current hassle to get them. So as time is passing and hardware is kept being sold the "cheap" way, AM just loses some additional profit on the way.

I continually read great suggestions in this thread for ASICMINERs potential future development. I wonder if Friedcat or one of his friends actually reads through this evolving discussion. I often get the impression that he is virtually a one man band, correct me if I'm wrong. I haven't done the "read the whole thread" thing yet... also, in a side note. I had a dream last night that Friedcat was actually a hot russian woman wearing dungarees and with dyed dark red hair... yeah, welcome to my head. It was strictly business though don't worry.

Also, I know there are lots of people who would like to become "official" resellers for these products
What's stopping this from happening? Buy bulk orders, let them know what you're doing and establish a relationship so you can get the inventory flow. Set up a nice website and become a retailer.

Looks like AM/Friedcat have enough to worry about for now... someone can just set an example and away they go. I would jump on this if I had the skills/resources

I would personally pledge 1 btc towards a fund to produce an official storefront / website. We are shareholders after all, no reason we have to put this burden on friedcat. I propose we setup an address with John K. to serve as a website fund. We then put out a RFP for one of the many bitcoin enthusiast html geeks to produce an official site endorsed by friedcat. Features it should have: 1) Hosting of the official shareholder list with tools to make managing share purchases easier for freidcat (i'm thinking an existing shareholder could post his auction and the results could (with approval) transfer share ownership) 2) An official storefront for the masses to purchase upcoming ASIC hardware. 3) A Built in voting mechanism. It should be easier for friedcat to propose something and receive shareholder feedback. 4) ??

I would contribute a small amount in the region of 0.x BTC, I don't hold many shares... but I think this idea sounds brilliant. I also think friedcat should comment on it and there should be some kind of vote, unless voting with your BTC is enough. 4) a picture of a hot girl (maybe with red hair)... something that can compete with gox lady with glasses, and this blurry german blondie... https://twitter.com/Bitcoin24com/status/339859782972354561/photo/1

Like, get it done or bad things happen swamped. Otherwise I'd be coding a prototype now. Someone go do it!

AM needs a website and streamlined ordering. There are people in the blade sales thread saying they haven't received responses for days. Friedcat also appears to be handling all of the share transfers himself. There are people here who want to help, hopefully Friedcat will take them up on their offers.

LOL you're right, but I laugh when I read this all because I felt the same "obligation" a couple weeks ago to offer donations to AM just to help give things a boost. I think some of us share some kind of psychological obsession with friedcats operation ... some kind of sick and twisted hardcore loyalty that I've never seen before. Friedcat could literally create an army, as some of them would probably take a bullet for him. I've never seen anything like it before LOL

I trust friedcat. Let the employees set up hard and that fun stuff. For the things that matter, friedcat is a rockstar. I'm not so sure I trust the back up dancers with anything more than doing the backup.

taking bullets, rockstars... yeah I'm not sure about this. He's just a guy...
anyways, I would probably only put in some of my own BTC into a website investment, not a donation as such. Unless friedcat states explicitly that he is considering such an operation, well, I can imagine him working away doing his thing and forgetting to think about a store front as he focuses on other important tasks that seem to be lucrative enough on their own... ... that's just my imagination but considering the scale of many BTC operations and the way in which a small staff have let them down I wouldn't discount it.

In fact, a website for sales would be awesome - however, just if AM can even handle more orders than they are handling already.
I like the spirit, but please dont build some community funded websites or whatever. It's going to be a mess. Friedcat knows what he's doing and he will certainly reevaluate the website situation when appropriate.

Money doesn't solve everything. That's not always the way things work. Passion and taking action, seeing something tangible, often lead somewhere. Being bought out, absorbed, hired, this stuff happens to the smallest from the biggest. In any case, I think there's plenty of time for friedcat to work out the website either way.
