Like you said altcoin is not really a solution , we must make bitcoin more powerful more stable not make a new currency ...

How can Bitcoin be a solution to things it can not do?

Anonymity?

Real-time (1ms) transactions?

Etc...
So you are suggest that we abandon whole bitcoin infrastructure, every bitcoin project, every bitcoin related business and create some new ultimate bitcoin 2.0? No, this is no way. Of course we could now do this better, faster, more reliable but do we really need to? We shouldn't delay bitcoin acceptance until every possible feature is done. There’s always going to be one more thing to do.

We're waiting for Bitcoin v2 like Ethereum
At this point we need to build just ONE strong and efficient cryptocurrency. Don't wait for another better option or upgrade. Bitcoin will be upgraded sometime in the future for sure. But first we need to make it work here and now. And creating tons of alternatives are not gonna help us at all.

It's pretty difficult to foresee what would happen in the near future. I think the volatility that is causing the major swing still remains as a major barrier towards mainstream adoption and I think the question on whether it will be stable someday can only be answered once we have reached the halving stage. Hopefully by then volatility will be reduced as we have less supply getting introduced to the market

There is one thing for sure: There will not be a large increase in mining efficiency like we have experienced during CPU to GPU and GPU to ASIC technology shifting. That might indicate that any future value increase will be more gradual and slow, following the slow increase in ASIC efficiency, wider adoption and reward halving every 4 years

If there is a way to make cheap quantum miner, then we would have another jump in mining efficiency, but that is highly unlikely in any foreseeable future

Price bitcoin is still quite difficult to rise, probably because the worry market saw the price was at $ 1,000 down to $ 250 and also news bad news caused by hackers who broke into the site exchangers.

bitcoin need only mass adoption nothing else for the moment, it need that those with tons of bitcoin spread(by selling) their fortune until everyone become equal or near that, it will require many years, don't expect a big rise even with the halving

NO NO NO NO

You dont understand, them selling it will plunge the price, its good that they sit on it because the price will remain high and scarce.

Of course an argument can be made that in lower prices more people can afford it, which is true, but if the price goes down why would them buy it?

So its good as it is, there is enough bitcoin in circulation and being sold that anyone who wishes to buy can buy some.

The main problem is a lack of advertising, i think every single bitcoin holder should set up websites and promote the sheeet out of it, tell them to friends, family , everyone!

See internet promotion is not enough, because many people dont trust "internet things", it needs bilboard campaigns, many many tv media attention, and local newspapers talking about it.

If Bitcoin Foundation would not be so busy it could run campaings like that to promote it better.

Also 3rd party promotion through merhant contracting is also good, especially if Microsoft and IBM does it!

if the price go down tons of people will buy it(it's a psychology thing...), now the price is still too high for many boy/girl, so reducing a the price to make new people come to the bitcoin world is a good thing actually

we need a reset basically

We're waiting for Bitcoin v2 like Ethereum

no we need just to finish bitcoin, remember that bitcoin is still in beta

Think of Bitcoin being a 2 person raft in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and the current economic and monetary system as a huge ocean liner or aircraft carrier that can't even feel a wave hit them.  That's where we're currently at with Bitcoin.  Wild price swings and lots of volatility.

Once we get more merchant adoption, more investing, more development, more consumers and people using it, the raft or boat will get bigger and bigger.  Once we're at Ocean Liner status you'll see only mild price fluctuations and wild celebrating.   Wink

That is a really beautiful concept to describe the system.
I believe that increased functionality will lead to more adoption.
More adoption equals more financial value in the bitcoin economy.

Eventually, all these things should come to pass, therefore bitcoin's future looks very bright.

Ethereum is not intended to be a currency, it's not competition for Bitcoin, if Ethereum is a success it means Bitcoin was a success, not the opposite.

I think bitcoin has a bright future ahead, though its going to take some time to break into the mainstream. I don't think it will ever take over fiat or become so popular that you can spend it everywhere but I think it will become widespread in certain niche industries like gambling and porn and hopefully the remittance market. Other select merchants who are sick of paying high high fees and getting paypal chargebacks may also adopt it too.

I got in because I loved the concept of bitcoin and recognized the inevitability of it.  A digital non-governmental peer-to-peer world currency will happen.

I think the most important value of the bitcoin is the technology itself, and its use on others business –not only in the money-. It will be necessary to developed these other business to get the real bitcoin value and to stabilize it.

I think future is very bright. I believe more and more online companies will introduce bitcoins as their payment option. I also believe a lot of restaurants and cafe bars will include bitcoin as new way of payment.

Bitcoin is easy to manage. it is one of the most important innovations of this time—comparable in impact to railroads, automobiles, telephony, Internet, etc., if not more.

Well lets just not give up on bitcoin yet.

Ethereum sucks, its client is so bugged and messed up. And the whole idea is stupid + the blockchain of it will be huge.

Also i dont like it's programming language.

Bitcoin v2 is not even needed. Just fix the security issues of bitcoin if there is any and then use this please.

I guess Bitcoin will become a international payment method in the future.

Right now, you should buy some Bitcoin and keep it until 2020. You will get rich quickly.

2020 isn't exactly quickly, but i agree now it's the time to buy, the perfect time for that until the halving, with that you could be assured there will be a surprise in price( a positive surprise)

the future of bitcoin is held in its halving...

It's an very small aspect in price rise. I think government regulation/destruction, merchants acceptance, business uses for bitcoin (so companies aren't forced to sell off all bitcoins) have a far greater influence on the price then just simply block halving, just my 2 cents Grin
