Let's wait and see if that hashrate fires back up after the difficulty change.

I wish I had 20PH that I could just shut off at a whim when I felt the diff was getting too high.  Cheesy

20PH/s disappeared on Antpool today.

Next batch of miners being removed from burn-in test and getting shipped?

Read in another thread (forget which) of a rumored fire at a bitcoin farm in Sichuan province at the time. There was no link to confirm and I could not find anything doing a search of English version of news from there.

EDIT: Mystery solved - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855548.msg10958025#msg10958025

Spring Maintenance and Migration of miners to Bitmain Own facility from Umisoo.com facility

The interesting thing is antpool now has the hash in 50 PH range once again.  What ever happened it is back to normal there.

*Turns out no conspiracy or anything bad.  Got this out of antpool thread.

P2pool is a tough one to make it work for the engineers.

Hashrate drop...  Spring Maintenance and Migration of miners to Bitmain Own facility from Umisoo.com facility.  Missing hash power will be back in a few days!!

Some customers received email from Umisoo.com regarding the spring cleaning and migration

Considering I was thinking we might hit 10 percent not as bad as change as i thought.   Also nice to see a little rise in BTC.  I just wish it would go up to 300's and beat that barrier.

you want btc over 300? are you ready to have over 10% jumps?

i prefer btc down, lower than is now! this way diff will stay low. and as a miner and holder this is the perfect combination

i trust it will go over 1k(maybe 2k or more) in the future, i just want more btc for myself Grin

when the halving comes around a couple of things might happen. Like having btc jump so miners are still useful, btc difficulty drop so that it would be profitable to mine, or many other possibilities.

At first halving there was another expectation ASIC race. First halving happened then price didnt changed too much. After first ASICs came to market , then BTC market price gone crazy from $ 10 to $ 250 (was peak at btce).

But I agree with you. At the next halving there are lots of possibilities. And its really hard to wait enourmous hash increase due to mining saturation and technology limitations.

Btw, I guessed difficulty just too high. I didnt think mining operators made such tricky things.

Its not looking horrible. Bitwisdom:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    46,717,549,645
Estimated Next Difficulty:    49,171,956,055 (+5.25%)
Adjust time:    After 238 Blocks, About 1.6 days

And btc remaining over 250 hopefully a slow and nice climb.

is at (+6.28%)  we are at 232 blocks to go so  + 5% to + 7 %   looks right.  If this is true   averaged in with the -1.5%

the last two jumps average to 2.2%

The next halving will be very interesting because there will not be an exponential growth in the mining gear technology like there was for the first halving.  Personally, I hope btc value stays about the same and the difficulty drops by 60%.

I would agree it's holding pretty solid in the 6's.   Looks like it will be low or mid 6's at the end.

Considering BTC is up just a tad and we didnt get the 10 I thought we were going to get not to bad of difficulty change.
