A bit about EmpoEX

Development of EmpoEX began in June 2014, and we launched officially in October 2014 with an open beta. Since then we have gained over 3000 users from many different coin communities. We constantly work to provide a fast support system making sure users get any help they require.

What are EmpoCredits?

EmpoCredits is a Crypto-Currency created and maintained by our team. We will provide facilities and a real world usage of the coin by offering various benefits to users of EmpoEX Exchange. We would like to point out that this is not a virtual coin, but a real currency with a blockchain.

These benefits are for traders to receive discounts while trading.

Trade Fee Discount

Using XEMP, users can opt to get refunded on their trade fees between 10% and 99%! With 100K XEMP, you get 10% discount, and with 1M XEMP, you get 99% discount. This works with amounts starting at 100K up to 1M, so 450K coins is 45% trade fee discount.

Post Incentives

For those who don't know, we already offer an incentive program for BitcoinTalk users who advertise us using their signature and Personal Text fields. The current system allows for up to 20% discount on trade fees. We will be adding an extra incentive for users of this system with XEMP by giving you 1 coin for every post you make here. Yes, we will give you these coins free of charge for constructive posts. (More on how we get those coins later).

Simple Coin Listings

Currently we have the Crowdfund Coin Listing system which allows multiple users to fund the fee to list a coin of their choice, with the click of a button using BTC from their account. We will be changing this system to use XEMP instead of BTC. Any group of user(s) can fund the listing of new currencies onto the exchange using this method and paying in XEMP.

So how will EmpoCredits be distributed? --- Distribution has ended. Total coins: 16.064.408 XEMP ---

XEMP will be a crowdfunding hosted on EmpoEX with 35,000,000 coins on offer, with a price of 100 satoshi per coin. The crowdfunding will last for 14 days, and all unsold coins will be burned. At the end of the crowdfunding we will provide a buy-wall using 10% of the BTC earned. These coins will not be burned, but will go towards the Posting Incentive campaign to provide the initial bank to cover these giveaways.

We are making this a crowdfunding so we can raise the funds needed to develop our new EmpoEX trading platform, as well as to provide a stable and reliable exchange for users to enjoy. By investing in XEMP, you are investing in our future and in turn the future of Crypto-Currency trading to ultimately provide the platform everyone wants to have. We can promise you that the people who choose to invest in XEMP will be treated very generously for their lifetime as users on EmpoEX.

Why do I want to invest in the future of EmpoEX?

One of our main philosophies and mission statements is that we care about our users and try to put their priorities above our own by making decisions in their favour. We believe that despite our hiccups our track record, past behaviours and communication style clearly show what we envision. Our users will know that our volume has been relatively low causing us to lack in profits over the last year since we launched. However, we are still here providing a service and continuing to make improvements every day. We still have many plans for the future and would like to see them come to fruition.

There are legitimate monetary requirements to running and maintaining our platform that need to be considered such as server hosting costs, maintenance costs, domain costs, support costs and development costs. crowdfunding funds will be used for these expenses, and mainly for the cost of development and advertisement/promotion to further increase our user base.

asking about $10,000 market cap for this coin which is not a huge rip off. Looks like it will be a high POS ICO where the dev buys all his own coins for free, gets all the free POS coins. Basically will own all the coins for free and probably slowly sell them off

We don't see why should someone attack us with baseless accusations. Assumptions are just assumptions.

Is this wallet safe from the problems that have been hampering other masternode coins?  Where someone has been able to hack in and steal your coins?

We have never had any issues with any MasterNode coins we added on EmpoEX.
Could you give us an example of what you're writing about those problems? So we could take a look and fix them, if there any.
XEMP is not compiled yet, we are still running tests.

We wanted to keep the value of XEMP above crowdfunding price.
PoW stage would push the price lower.

We are aware that PoW phase is the backbone of crypto coins, but not in this specific case.

Yes, that is correct, it will be at 100 satoshi. We would like to support the price on that level.

unfortunately, that's not possible to do. We need to have the entire wallet balance available, so our users can move their coins around.
If we wanted to do something like that, we'd have to ask our users, if they agree with that. If the majority voted for a yes, then we could do that.

I think a new blockchain will be insecure. Unless you are looking to add features into a blockchain there is no point in creating a new coin. You can create a free XCP (CounterParty) token and use it to raise funds. GEMZ is just a XCP token and traded on exchanges like any other cryptocoin. BitCrystals is raising funds currently and is also just an XCP token. Both raised lots of funds using a token instead of a new blockchain.

I believe it is free to create XCP tokens or maybe like a 0.00001 BTC fee to create as many tokens as you want.

Using XCP will allow you to use the bitcoin blockchains security.


I like empoex and will get some of this.

Also... If trading fees are fully removed from the system, it could be used to fake volume.

I hate fake volume. It would be amazing if you could some how remove fake volume from your exchange (I have never seen fake volume abuse on empoex). Fake volume is so annoying on Bittrex, c-cex and yobits.

We started planning our coin about 1 month ago. We didn't consider any other option, than ordinary code which is used mostly.
We are going to add a feature inside of QT, near of launch of the new platform.


Regarding fake volume. We understand that the average person can see when volume is faked, so we avoid running any scripts to generate more volume. That has its pros and cons. The cons are obvious. People don't want to trade on exchanges where there's no volume.
This coin is our primary weapon to generate volume and interest in our exchange.
Regarding fake volume from user side. As You saw, there's a distribution list, which is available for VIP members.

We wont be able to give information on what we've been working recently, but the new Empo will be stunning.

The purpose of XEMP coin is to allow VIP users to access the new tools we are going to have on our new platform.
It's written in the announcement post.

Both, Ant and I have jobs and we support EmpoEX with our own money. We are able to keep Empo alive for at least another 12 months with our personal funds.
We have been around for near one year, and we are here to stay.

All funds collected from this crowdfunding will go towards development of the new platform. Which we already started developing two weeks ago.
We have ideas, we have the knowledge of what traders need. Some exchanges have been copying some ideas of ours. That’s what is fuelling us to continue working on EmpoEX.

What's in development and will be released progressively:

Trader analytics, merchant API for sellers, brand new UI with widgets and customization, new charts, similar to trading view's charts, codes/vouchers and the ability to give funds to an email address or a twitter account with an @ reply and a referral system with inviting via email, twitter and possibly other platforms.
And there's more, but we don't want to reveal everything, yet.


We understand that the crypto scene is very much like the wild West, and that trust is built with actions, and not words.

I'm supporting it and hoping I can get to at least a 500k XEMP investment before the crowdfund closes, using only my mining and trading proceeds since launch. It's been pretty dry out there for new altcoin profit opportunities if you aren't the people behind Augur.

Ant and Drone, I suggest you allow no more than a 99% fee discount (or less) at all times, even for holders of 1M+ XEMP. Otherwise someone can invest 1BTC and DDoS your exchange or create wash trades and all sorts of unwanted spam traffic at no cost to themselves. The refund works better to combat this than a discount at source, but I would hate to have someone break your exchange using it nefariously and then you have to deal with the fallout.

So future XEMP holders don't get confused with numbers.

If anyone has the need to exit, he can do it freely. We wont touch that wall, no matter what happens.

We can't wait to release the new EmpoEX platform.

As stated in the Roadmap, this item is due to be launched on August 30th. However, we have decided to release it today for all users.

In order to qualify, you must follow the instructions on the User Incentives page to verify your BCT user account. If you have already verified your account then you do not need to do anything. Verified users are eligible to receive the promotion coins of 1 XEMP per new post created on Bitcointalk. Users who hold over 1M XEMP or have a total fee discount of 99%, will become Ultra VIPs and will receive 2 XEMP per post for their dedication and support towards us.

If you have not verified your BCT user account on your EmpoEX account yet, you are eligible for a special promotion. New users who verify their account receive the amount of coins equal to their post count. For example, if you have 2000 posts you will be credited 2000 XEMP from our promotional coins bank. If you are an Ultra VIP that is 2x your post count in XEMP.

One other thing should be mentioned: we do not promote abuse or spamming on Bitcointalk forum threads. Please post constructively and within the rules of this forum.

This is another feature I'm sure many of you have been looking forward to. As stated on the roadmap, this item is scheduled to be released on August 30th, however we are also releasing this today for all users who hold XEMP.

I really like Empoex support - actually it is the best among crypto-exchanges I have dealt with (and I have something to compare with, as I worked with more than 10 exchanges so far). Had few mail conversations with Ant - highly professional guy, smart, understanding and caring. Among few problems of this echange - I would mention slow loading web-interface. Actually it is very heavy on CPU, and loads terribly slow on older PC's and tablets (browser gives javascript timeout error). Apart of that - I have only positive impressions of their work.

We had a few VMs staking in order to move blocks. Machine crashed, so blocks stopped moving.
We have 4 machines now, which have been staking for around 30 minutes.

Minimum staking time is 4 hours. Blocks should move in 3 hours and 30 minutes.

When that happens, please start staking or it will happen again

Locate EmpoCredits folder and open it.
Inside of the folder you will have to make a .txt file, called empocredits.conf
After you do that, add this inside:


Save your config file and run your wallet again.

dude not to be a dick but if you cant make a text file your SOL in crypto.
just right click the folder you put the QT in and select "new" from your context menu, then "text document"
then follow the above instructions with placing nodes in there :) make sure to place an exact copy in your APPDATA folder, as with any other wallet.
Hope this helps but i feel you couldnt sync a BTC wallet :P

I added the conference file, I added the nodes.  When I start the wallet, the connection mode starts blipping, but doesn't connect.  When I open the network traffic, it shows it building.  Do I just have to wait for awhile?

i had same problem , i was told to backup the wallet.dat and delete the whole file in the APPDATA folder, the whole "Empocredits" folder, then try firring wallet again after throwing config back in there :) worked for me tho the wallet is behind 5 hours again (everytime i exit it) :(

The chain is slow because there's not many people staking at this point.
We have sent more coins to new wallets (they haven't arrived yet, 10 confirmations needed). That will slowly increase chain speed.

When chain starts moving with normal speed, make sure you stake, so we can have a strong network.

This error is caused by the secp256k1 library, specifically the latest version. The required version is on the commit a1d5ae1. This can be be done by doing “git checkout a1d5ae1” after cloning the secp256k1 repo, and then re-making and re-installing the library. This should resolve the problem.

We are working on a fix. Bare with us :)

i assume this libary is to be installed like  said in the readme:

Clone this library, then do the checkout command, and then follow the install instructions for libsecp256k1 in their readme.


Due to these extra steps we might consider including the required version of libsecp256k1 in our repo for easier compilation.

It's time to forget that and move on. Price has been above 150 satoshi on the buy side, while the sell side is at 200, as we write now.

Now, let's go to the technical stuff.

In order you get everything work on your end, you will have to do the following:

a) Please go to %APPDATA% folder, find EmpoCredits folder. Delete it.

b) Download new wallet (Wallet: https://xemp.empoex.com/EmpoCreditsQT.zip
Source: https://bitbucket.org/EmpoEX/empocredits/src - DO NOT DOWNLOAD WALLET FROM QUOTED POSTS!) Run the new wallet. Download all necessary blocks.

c) Run your wallet.

You will have to add these nodes:
(Inside of wallet .zip, you will find a conf file. Put it inside of your empocredits folder)

In order we avoid more issues, please stake your coins. That was the main reason why chain got stuck. People kept their coins on exchange instead of staking, and helping chain to move.
We have 5 machines which will be staking 10.000 XEMP each. (Coins taken from purchased coins though our buy wall at 100 satoshi)

Seems to work now. What is the staking block reward?

Dear users

Since last night we launched our new XEMP wallet and source with a fast network. We added 600 PoW blocks to the new re-release and mined 260 ourself to test that the network and nodes were stable, and that staking was functioning well. The rest of these PoW blocks continued to be mined through the night. When we reached block 600, the network slowed to a crawl with only a few blocks staking.

We have now setup a script to move 1 coin from Address X to Address Y every minute. This helps to keep the network going and people will stake thier coins faster, as well as transactions moving quicker. We have machines which are staking small amounts (0.01-0.05) of mature coins to make sure blocks will keep coming through.

Regarding masternodes

We are sorry to say, there is a small bug in the Masternode implementation which makes all Masternodes get rejected on the network. We will be working hard to fix this and will release a new source and wallet update to resolve this as soon as possible.

Regarding lack of volume. After new platform is ready, we are going to start promoting EmpoEX harder.
Exchange competition is really big. We are not sure how many people have heard of us, even we have been around for almost a year now.

First, we would need some feedback from users about Empo, so we know what's not good, in order to fix it. Then we could start aggressive promoting.

It would be total misuse of crowdfunding funds if we started promoting aggressively right now.

It requires time for good things to happen :)

Make sure you delete your old wallet, so you don't run it ever again.

Has anyone successfully created a masternode? I am pretty experienced at creating masternodes, and I have not been able to get one to work for XEMP.

When I try, my node appears on the masternode list for a few minutes, but with the status of 0 and then it disappears. No other masternodes seem to be on the list, ever.

EDIT: I support this coin and am looking forward to checking out EmpoEx as an exchange. I just don't think the masternode functionality of XEMP works. Please let me know if any of you have had any success running a MN on main net.

Hello, sorry for the long delay. We were having some issues on the new site, on the back end, so we were working on it.

Regarding Masternode issue.

Our main concern at this moment is the new platform. That's the product, and we don't want to be late to deliver it.
XEMP coin is currently working fine, we are working issues surrounding Masternodes, as a secondary priority behind EmpoEX itself
That's the most important thing to keep in mind.

(Currently we are working on chart software, which is pain in the *** to implement without doing a lot of modifications. That's the stage where we are now.
We don't want to hype. This isn't the pump and dump project which will make you rich in a day or two. When things get done, we post. )

Masternode issue will be fixed after new platform gets released. We already tried to fix masternode issue 3 times so far, and posted 3 updates. Maybe we will need to hire a 3rd party developer to assist us, since this is the first time we've come across such issue.

Yes that would be nice, it isn't a problem to focus on something else for a certain period,
but on the same time, its not THAT hard, during that time, to sit down and spend 15 minutes a day,
thinking about your coin. This is not only more polite, but even better for you, because it is much harder to grow
from a declined position later, then keeping a certain fresh-hold. I see you are building a great exchange, but in the
meantime, you have the opportunity to train some of the user centric attitudes, you claimed and everything will
turn out, to be fine for everyone. ;-) deal?

That's the reason we work on the new platform.

So we can attract more users and give a good ROI to people who invested in XEMP's crowdfunding.

We're not aiming to add every coin which comes out.
There are many exchanges who do that, and they get the proper communities.
We want to avoid that ;)

So do you think that your exchange is not popular just because of the current website tech?

I suppose that popular exchanges attract new users by promptly adding new coins and maintaining decent performance and security. Even if some coins turn out to be scams it shouldn't affect the exchange reputation. It's not the exchange's responsibility if some coin developer disappears with ICO money or dumps his premine. They simply provide tools for trading and only profit from fees and volume.

Reason we did this crowdfunding is to collect funds in order we can advertise EmpoEX, after the new platform comes online.
With a better platform we will be able to attract more people. We have ideas and we can realize them.

now users need 500K xemp to see the distribution insight.
wouldn't it be better if they change it to 50K or 5K if the value potentially rise.
so more people consider to hold some xemp. that also means more volume can move to you're exchange.

though i have 700 000 i did prefer staking instead of watching, i only invested, because i thought:
Someone ,opening a new exchange will have to try to make a good impression before launching it,
because like this, it isn't the impression that makes users to trust yet another exchange,

Burning the coins was a bad move. I want to get a lot but would never pay more than %20+ initial crowdsale price.

They could have still been raising funds if they had more XEMP to sell.

I give them a short time, then i will express my opinion of trust via the trust system,
such a chilling behaviour, there is no moral at all in those guys, they give a shit of users,

Also, they post in their chatbox if you ask them :D They also said that they wont be posting if there's no progress (2-3 pages back)
If they're having issues and being open about it, you shouldn't treat them like that. Coding isn't easy. Especially when you work on big projects like exchanges or other big scripts.

Its nice from you, to be patient with them, but what makes me angry is NOT the timeframe. If you look into my history you will know,
that big projects and their difficulties are not unknown to me. What angers me is following:
How many words of them have you read about their thoughts about those who funded them, their investors, those who are holding nearly worthless coins now?
They did not say even ONE word to, or about, them? Do you think coin owners situation is getting any better, because they built THEMSELF a nice exchange from your money?
Why should their coin get worth more even on their success?  Because of the grace to have a look on their nice new exchange, they built from your money?
They are not caring about their investors, that makes me angry. There is no attempt to give them a glimpse of hope for the future,
not even an attempt to provide those coin functions they advertised. Sorry to say, its not a project having difficulties, its some guys building THEMSELF an exhange from YOUR money,
and expecting YOU to cheer, if they succeed to build it. And this all with no  attempt to give anything back, but "to be allowed so see first" what they build from your money.

A legit attempt one would have expected, is to honour their investors by just making a GOOD COIN while
using the money to build the exchanges of their dreams, isnt that out of this world, my view, isnt it?

i have to agree with you man, i was there from the beginning of this adventure as you, tho by about page 5ish here i was tired of the delays and lack of progress, and sold out,walked away. I feel bad for those who have held, here we are about another 2 months later. ;( the exchange world is very competitive and it may have just been all of our faults for giving this guy our money before any actual progress (will we never learn? )
Hoping to see progress, tho the whole idea behind 13+ million coins with 50 users seems strange....

Jo my friend all in all it was from my side yet another ninja-investment lol.
I will survive losing one loosy Bitcoin, but i am not a one-man show in crypto business.
Loosing my trust means loosing the trust of an entire core of senior, hero and more members,
that are doing legit business to each other and that are having a voice, that is getting heard.
They think the world is big enough for such behaviour, but it isn’t. They will learn that lesson.
Not only when an entire crypto community will ignore the release of their exchange, but when running
into closed doors where ever they try to enter, they really don’t know how this  part of the world is functioning,
but they will learn, if they like or not, they will.

I don't think you could take it over-- it's Ant and Drone's coin. They are still providing a functioning exchange and the 1 XEMP bonus for each bitcointalk post still works.

Software delays can take a long time. But information is out there. I know the developers don't go on Bitcointalk too often as it's so toxic, but you might try the EmpoEx freenode IRC channel, or their Twitter if you want to get a hold of them for a status update.

Don't worry, as a quite big shareholder i am making suggestions about my ideas and how to get the best for us out of this story.
But my opinion is, quite irrelevant, as long as, i am alone with my claims. An i do not plan to offend anybody.
Nobody is forced to follow my idea and i am not that kind of guy, that expects somebody, to have to catch the ball. Everything easy ;)

BUT two things:

1) "Software delay" does not even remotely describe, what happened (or not happened) here

and now the  important (educational) part2:

There is no "Ant and Drone's coin", there is not any real cryptocurrency, that is owned by any single person or group. Even if its crappy and broken like this one here.
If somebody calls a coin "his coin", ( given he knows anything about cryptocurrencys ) he might mean,
"The coin, i serve, by maintaining it, as long, as the consensus of the community agrees, to grand this privilege to me"
and now the killerfact; Guess what, THIS COMMUNITY is the owner of the COIN. If this community decides to agree to someone else, this currency would vanish faster,
then Ant and Drone are able to say "where is my currency". This is just a question of trust. If the right person asks to take over, its a matter of hours and they are out.
Trust me, i know very well, what i am talking about, i can't even count any more, how often this happened.
This is not a shiny theory, its a fact. Even more: Its the core, of  WHY WE ARE ALL HERE at all.

I hope i can expect some sense of humor from you. Don't misunderstand me. What i said, was not a "declaration of war".

YES taking over is a complete different thing i know. I even know quite exactly, because
i am running a coin, that has been the biggest scam in 2014 with a peercoin copy-paste clone, that could mot have been less interesting.
After the crash the Coin was dead over half a year, until i rebooted the network and the chain and took over. And today i have to say,
I hadn't the slightest idea of running a coin. In the last  twelve month i learned how to manage a Blockchain wisely, how to secure it,
how to Hardfork without coinswap or interruption, how to manage a forking network, how to deal with attacs from the old DEV,
how to to basic programming on a QT-Wallet and how it funktions and is structured (had a progamming backgroud, 10 years ago),
and millions of other things (i am currendly writing a book about that)  and look what happened to the Coin:

anyway what i wanted to point out is, the most important skill you should have as a maintainer is the abilitiy to do what you do with real passion and
the most important asset is time ... VERY much time. I am doing crypto as a fulltime business.
The money doesn't get earned by the Coin, but by some small startups, like staisybit.com.

And as i feel, ToniSan has this kind of doing his things with the right passion and i would trust him
to get this done by learning by doing. But i am noch fixed by one person. Anybody can  take over and
if he is a honest person he will get my active support. I wouldn't be able to manage two coins with the same quality,
as i provide for my current one, that's why i can't do the takeover.

i would offer them but ONE BTC , and that would be only for the script and tech work into building an exchange,
for what they pulled was BS , around 16btc i believe we gave them (i may be wrong)
but i wouldn't buy it most likely as , although i don't feel i wouldn't lack the tech skills to run it,
i think that running an exchange is a bigger task than most realize (and prob what this owner realized, but had no honor to admit it)

EDIT: just care about your people and you are having me as a supportive person, i am just happy if you can explain this, really i did not  buy in to see you fail.
I do not care harming you and also not about advertising my coin. If my coin shines that significant, because i talk about it from time to time,
it could also be a different reason, maybe you coin doesn't shine that bright? I do care about the honest people here, nothing less and nothing more.

I agree but i give everybody a chance and also i  post it, because i don't like anybody to trample my reputation, i worked hard for it.

The best (and only) solution would be for them to refund every ICO buy order for all accounts that participated with BTC minus the amount gained by selling XEMP later. Why? Because they didn't deliver anything they promised and even killed the exchange thus rendering those coins useless. But of course they won't do it because it was their plan from the start.

that is correct, but i would even be o.k. if they would just understand, what i want to say and change their behavior.
I have not to much hope, but it isn't  all lost yet, who knows what is going on in other  peoples head,
as long as the network has a connection, EVERYTHING is possible.
I wont be out for "justice", justice didn't succeed to change the world, but compassion always did.
