101  Economy / Goods / Re: Maple Syrup on: December 25, 2011, 04:16:12 PM
The maple tea is basically that, tea bags infused with 100% pure maple syrup

I've never tried their maple bbq sauce but I assume it's good on EVERYTHING!!!! lol

Tea bags or loose tea? Black tea? Of any decent quality or just your average cheap shake? Anything else added beyond tea and maple sugar?

Me2. I'm finding it quite difficult to make a profit on Bitcoinica even when correctly predicting 20%+ movement on Mt. Gox, but predict wrong and one swallows the full force of the change plus some.

What is maple tea?

I'll definitely post photos, but it'll be a while. The earring would look quite a bit like these necklaces (half dollar) but smaller (US penny), they can be post or dangly and would cost about $50 for a pair. I'll also pick up a bunch of abstract muskox pieces of various sizes and prices.

Is anyone interested in pre-ordering very thin muskox necklaces or pins, similar to the middle photo above (perhaps even thinner)? They are not traditional, somewhat my own idea, a bit fragile, though we're experimenting to perfection. When thin, colors blend through the translucent creamy-grained texture of the muskox horn. The piece will stand out while matching any skin color or piece of clothing.

Also, many of the hunters find huge hunks of ruby in the spring. If I can get a permit, might you be interested in big pieces of raw, but not gem-quality corundum? For an idea of what I'm talking about, check out Google images. The middle photo (not mine) is from Qaqat, the last photo (mine) is from Qeqertarsuatsiaat:

What's greater than God, more evil than Satan, and if you eat it, you'll die?

Randy's folds?

Wow, that was close. Glad it worked out.

By popular request I've asked around for matching earrings and necklaces. These are available carved from in reindeer antler. I've also made requests for several pieces of jewelry made from gorgeous muskox horn. Fine detail is not possible with muskox horn, so it's less appropriate for carving, though one guy is making me matching lucky whale tail earrings.

Dear Mr. Joint,

You're making yourself look like an idiot.

The definitions of 'fiat money' given by Oxford, Webster, and Wiktionary all include 'government decree'.

The etymology, from Latin comes to English in 1630s as "let it be done". I presume similar to French 'faire' - to do or make.

The very first references in English are translations of Genesis, 'fiat lux', 'γενηθήτω φῶς' (genēthētō phōs), '','יְהִי אוֹר' (yehiy 'or), 'let there be light'. The evolution of usage is first God at creation, then government stole the term, perhaps now the people can now repossess the term. Prometheus, baby! According to Wikipedia, the phrase is often used for its metaphorical meaning of dispelling ignorance. How appropriate then to refer to bitcoin as the new fiat lux - dispelling ignorance.

And in the end God said,
    Let there be bitcoin:
    and there was bitcoin
And God saw bitcoin,
    and it was good:
    and God divided the worthy
    from the worthless.

Elliott describes patterns that people see, whether they consciously apply Elliott numbers or not, people react to these patterns. The stronger the patterns the more likely they will continue and weaker patterns shed little information.

Where Elliott has a great advantage is to predict in advance. If X happens, then this pattern will emerge, likely leading to Y price. However, if W happens, then this pattern will be confirmed, leading to Z price. This is perhaps what someone meant by "my wave". People who casually look at other's charts may not know how to apply them. Sometime, like late October, the pattern is so obvious, you can call a top, but at other times you must wait for scenarios to play out. But scenarios are not random. Humans are not random.

Yes washing multiple users' laundry simultaneously so that I get Unle Tom's underwear and Sally receives my socks.

Fees are optionally selected with a checkbox on the send transaction form. Making a certain number of paid transactions unlocks features in the interface. For example:

1 paid transaction per month enables live updating via web sockets.

2 paid transactions per month increases max number of addresses to 1000

3 paid transactions per month enables notifications

Might work if not too complicated/intrusive. Limiting the wallet byte size and transaction frequency could align proportional to your own costs.

Where is a scrambler on your roadmap? That is a feature for which I would likely pay (though not 1%), and its network vortex effect would be very beneficial for you (and your customers).

if everyone starts trading based on the same Elliot wave predictions, then the market will start to steer around those predictions, making them useless? perfectly dependable

I just don't think you should want to do ANYTHING to suppress testing and growth at this early stage of your project. What you are essentially saying is "please do not test transactions unless you are sending real money" and so I have not.

I do not withdraw my petition, though I will not hold it against Bitcoinica in any way. I would still appreciate if Bitcoinica withdraws financial support of GoDaddy.

I will be starting the process of moving away from goaddy in the first week of the new year if they do not so that they may reverse their position on SOPA.

Take decisive action to cause effective action else immediate penalty. When I read if I hear never. Take a stand for what you believe and let them know.

but no one can explain how it would be effectively utilized in such a way ?
if SOPA goes into effect, who do you think in terms of censorship will be government's targets, who will they shutdown on premises of SOPA?

If I lived in the United States it would concern me greatly that my government is granting itself unjust powers, whether it only affects others, or is only theoretical, or not defensible. All Americans it seems are criminals by some law or another. It's sick. You should fight it at ever step of the way and try to reverse the trend. Go take a poll. Does any citizen actually support this bill? Question your democracy.

Mr. The Joint. I don't suppose you caught the Fight Club reference? In this forum you've been given an opportunity to face the pain, release your ego, and humbly and honestly apologize. On your road to adulthood you will have other, but not likely as easy, opportunities, but why not take responsibility now rather than waiting to somehow grow up?
120  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [PULL] private key and wallet export/import on: December 23, 2011, 06:09:45 PM
However, accessing it via Python CLI gets you just about anything you want in the blockchain.

That should be enough for my experiments.

On that note, I would argue I didn't exactly reinvent the wheel.... the Satoshi client is a wheel that spins at 1000 RPM permanently attached to a satoshi axle.  My code is a wheel that spins at 10,000 RPM and can be used with any axle.  I'm not sure it's possible to do (single-threaded) blockchain scanning any faster (after all, I am an expert on C++ data structures).

I did not mean to imply that your modular blockchain wasn't an improvement over Satoshi's client. I was just curious whether you and Genjix collaborated or shared any code. I believe you are both doing some similar things. Each implementation might test the other, or if either approach for a particular component is superior, why not steal like artists?

Genjix' libbitcoin license is also Affero GPL, while FellowTraveler is suggesting a new hybrid Lesser-AGPL, which might be more appropriate.
